To easily evoke emotion from humans, psychological horror does the job since it draws upon feelings of unease, tension and thrill that aren't often touched upon in regular media. Go Nagai is one of the most successful mangakas and is currently famous for creating series like Devilman, Mazinger Z, and Violence Jack. Devilman Crybaby, a popular Ona, is also based on Nagai’s initial Devilman manga. The series has mature content and portrays a battle between demons and humans.

The mix of s*xual and violent acts makes it slightly traumatizing for even adults. Crybaby was far darker and grittier as well as more explicit than its source material, but you should not judge Nagai’s manga solely based on that. Major Shonen Jump-based series Dandadan has made a big splash on Netflix after its critically acclaimed anime premiere. The sci-fi supernatural action series ranked in the top 10 most-watched list on Netflix, defeating the anime reboot of Ranma 1/2.

Netflix shared official data of its top 10 non-English shows for the week of Oct. 7-13, 2024. Dandadan came in second place with 4.3 million views. It was beaten only by Deceitful Love, the Italian miniseries that received 9.6 million views the same week. The nostalgic visual for the track finds the Quin sisters on a swing set at a riverside park, staring pensively out toward the water as they ruminate on past relationships.

“Faded Like a Feeling” follows “Fucking Up What Matters” and the Coldplay-inspired “Yellow” off Crybaby, due out Oct. 21. Written amid the Covid-19 pandemic, Crybaby marks the Quin sisters’ most collaborative album in years.

Described by Spain’s San Sebastian Festival as “one of contemporary cinema’s most talented and versatile actors,” American actor Johnny Depp will receive San Sebastian’s highest honor, its Donostia Award, in a ceremony taking place on Sept. 22 at the festival’s Kursaal Auditorium.

American Idol is throwing a major curveball at its Season 19 contestants: Only nine of them will advance to the Top 10 later this spring, with the final spot going to a contestant from last season.

ABC announced Monday that 10 singers from Season 18 — including runner-up Arthur Gunn — will return to Idol and compete for a spot in the current season’s Top 10.
