Things are coming to a head in ReacherSeason 3, as the titular hero finds his cover blown and runs for his life. Thus far, the series has expertly employed tension in a fresh way because Jack Reacher can't just punch his way out of trouble. As the façade of his time as Zachary Beck's lieutenant comes crashing down, Reacher employs some classic mortal violence against brutal killers. Also, a familiar face returns and character relationships evolve in interesting ways.

Christian Gudegast's "Den of Thieves" shouldn't have worked. At a glance, the film appeared to be little more than a knock-off of Michael Mann's "Heat" and countless other cops-and-robbers thrillers. Indeed, the film is frequently derivative — not only does it owe a huge debt to "Heat," but it even throws in a last-minute twist shamelessly "borrowed" from "The Usual Suspects." And yet ... "Den of Thieves" inexplicably ruled. While no one could accuse the flick of being original, the end result was wildly entertaining and enjoyable, and I don't mean in a cynical "so bad it's good" sort of way. Violent, engaging, funny, and unapologetically brash, "Den of Thieves" is down and dirty stuff — a scuzzy, dirtbag action flick about angry men shooting loud guns. It's not high art, it's high trash, and I love it with all my heart.

As expected, newcomer Sawandi Wilson (“Star Trek: Discovery”) has joined the cast of “General Hospital” as a contract player. He first appeared on the Monday, August 26 episode of the ABC drama series.

According to the end credits shown on Friday, September 6, Wilson’s character’s full name is Dr. Isaiah Gannon, a last name familiar to fans of the defunct “One Life to Live,” leaving many questioning if the character has ties to Llanview.

Thus far, the character had been imprisoned at the same refugee camp as Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson), but later escaped and made his way to Port Charles.

Shortly after leaving the airport, Isaiah found himself hit by a car during a struggle between Linda Boyle (Amor Owens) and Ava Jerome (Maura West). He was later transported to General Hospital thanks to Jason (Steve Burton) calling for emergency services.

Sawandi Wilson (“Star Trek: Discovery”) has joined the cast of “General Hospital,” reports Deadline.

According to the outlet, Wilson is set to make his debut on the ABC daytime drama series on Monday, August 26, playing the role of Isaiah, a character with a connection to Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson).

Best known for playing Captain Leto in the 10th episode of the fifth and final season of “Star Trek: Discovery,” Wilson has appeared in numerous other TV shows throughout his career, including “High Maintenance,” “Quantico,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Date. Love. Repeat.,” “Bull,” “The House of Flowers,” “Harlem” and even the Prime Video series “Dudes.”

No further details were available about Wilson’s role on “General Hospital.”

Last August, Buck Meek shared his third studio album, Haunted Mountain. Now, the Big Thief member is back with two new singles from the Haunted Mountain sessions: “Cuero Dudes” and “Beauty Opens Doors.”

Capturing the same warmth as the songs on Haunted Mountain, the two new singles show off Buck Meek’s songwriting versatility. “Cuero Dudes,” for example, is actually a reworking of the Haunted Mountain track “Cyclades,” featuring new lyrics, or “stories,” and a slightly adapted arrangement.

“Beauty Opens Doors,” meanwhile, has an open arrangement featuring clicking percussion, a flowing soundscape of synths and strings, and — as so-wonderfully highlighted throughout Haunted Mountain — dreamy pedal steel guitar lines. According to the singles’ press material, the song was first recorded during the Haunted Mountain sessions and became a tune that Meek “truly loved,” but it “simply didn’t fit the album.” Now, it arrives into the world, along with a music video for “Cuero Dudes.

Pamela Gidley, known for her role in David Lynch’s film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, died earlier this month at her home in New Hampshire. She was 52.

Gidley’s death was announced by her family Sunday in an obituary. She died April 16 “peacefully in her home” in Seabrook. The cause of death was not immediately clear.

Gidley began her career as a model in New York City, later segueing to acting. Her debut role came in the 1986 film Thrashin’ alongside Josh Brolin and Sherilyn Fenn. Brolin paid tribute to Gidley in an Instagram post below.

She went on to appear in several other films in the 1980s including Dudes, Permanent Record, The Blue Iguana and the cult sci-fi classic Cherry 2000. In 1992 she landed the role of Teresa Banks in David Lynch’s psychological thriller Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, which served as a prequel to the Twin Peaks TV series.

The Portland Oregon Women’s Film Festival (a.k.a. POWFest) announces highlights from its upcoming event, running March 7-10. The festival is celebrating its 6th year, and received a record number of submissions from women filmmakers across the world to compile almost 100 films (shorts, docs and features) that will play in themed programs -- Relationships, Mature Themes, Animation & Experimental, Mothers & Fathers, and Youth Created. This year's "female pioneer" and Guest of Honor is director Penelope Spheeris, whose films "Dudes," "Suburbia" and "Decline of Western Civilization III" will screen on March 9. The festival will open with Jackie Weissman's "Rock N Roll Mamas," while International Women's Day (March 8) will feature Pow's the traveling shorts showcase Lunafest, as well as "From Zimbabwe to Sante Fe" and "Gabby's Wish." Before we dive into the first installment of “Now & Then”, I want to just take a few moments to explain exactly what it is. In “Now & Then” movies, both horror and non-horror will be analyzed from the point of view of seeing the film at a younger age and then the point of view of watching it in the present. The movie I have chosen for the first installment is a movie that is very important to me and influenced me immensely growing up the 1996 independent classic Glory Daze from writer/director Rich Wilkes.

Glory Daze is the story of a group of tight knit friends in college who find themselves two days away from graduation. Jack (Ben Affleck) is starting to panic as he starts to contemplate what the future holds for him and begins to worry that the last few years were the high point and everything else...

“Decline of the Western Civilization” director Penelope Spheeris, while talented, has certainly made some very strange choices during the early stages of her career. And while the filmmaker’s pseudo-cool 1987 revenge saga “Dudes” isn’t nearly as hokey as, say, “Hollywood Vice Squad”, it does, at times, reek of slightly moldly cheese. Jon Cryer and Daniel Roebuck star as a pair of New York City punks who helplessly watch their friend die at the hands of a murderous gang of racist hillbillies during their cross-country trip to sunny California. The story — which is essentially a punk rock retelling of “Easy Rider” — isn’t overly complicated or complex, nor does it strive to be. Once you strip away the snake juice-fueled dream sequence, the cornball cowboy references, and the decidedly pointless inclusion of minor 80′s eye candy Catherine Mary Stewart, all you’ve got is a paint-by-numbers road movie with goofy...

Tila Tequila is probably used to extreme reactions. Her love of writhing on red carpets, her will she-won’t she Celebrity Rehab yo-yoing … exhibition streaking much? But nothing she’s ever done could have prepared her (or us), for what she was in for this weekend. Tila was on stage at a the Gathering of the Juggalos concert in Illinois (you know, the “f*cking magnets, how do they work?” dudes) when the crowd apparently got dangerously out of hand, leaving her completely bruised and battered. She told TMZ about the incident stating, “ Dudes were throwing Huge Stone Rocks in my face, beer bottles that slit my eye open, almost burnt my hair on fire cuz they threw fire crackers on stage, and they even took the sh*t out of the port-0-potty and threw sh*t and piss at me when I was onstage.” Is this true? Because it sounds totally unreal.
