Time Travel is Dangerous centers around friends Ruth and Megan who run a vintage shop in Muswell Hill. When they stumble across a time machine, it occurs to them that stock is much cheaper if they ‘borrow’ from the past – well, it’s free. They don’t want to change history, or rob banks, they just want to find a nice Victorian lamp or an authentic 80s bum bag without getting sucked into the hellish time-space vortex that is “the Unreason”. The thing is, Time Travel Is Dangerous.
The movie stars Johnny Vegas, Jane Horrocks (Absolutely Fabulous), Sophie Thompson, Mark Heap, Brian Bovell, Tony Way, Guy Henry, Tom Lenk (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Laura Aikman, Kiell Smith-Bynoe and is narrated by Stephen Fry.
Here at Love Horror we got a chance to quiz some of the creatives behind the brand new Sci-Fi comedy and run them through a set of quick fire questions.

As films like The Terminator, The Time Machine, Looper, Edge of Tomorrow, Back to the Future 2 and Hot Tub Time Machine 2 have proven, going backwards and forwards across history or into the far future can be perilous to both personal and universal health. But it has taken until now for a movie to say it out loud, and that movie is the brilliant British comedy Sci-Fi usurpingly titled Time Travel is Dangerous.
The set up is simple enough and starts when two friends Ruth and Megan find a time travel machine by the bins behind their vintage shop in Muswell Hill. The scientific marvel, which is actually a modified dodgem, takes them on jaunts across history where they pilfer anything they can from the bemused locals of the past to sell in their shop. Season 2 of the hit Netflix Addams Family series Wednesday started filming in Ireland last May and is now making its way through post-production – and series star Jenna Ortega says that when the new season starts streaming, we can expect to see a lot of horror references in its episodes. There will even be an episode based on slasher movies!
Wednesday comes to us from Millar Gough Ink, Tim Burton Productions, Toluca Pictures, and MGM Television, and is described as a comedic, supernaturally-infused coming-of-age series that follows the teenage girl’s years as a student at Nevermore Academy, where she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the town, and solve a mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new relationships at Nevermore. Snap snap.

Though we still have no idea when Season 2 of Netflix's Wednesday will make its long-awaited premiere, we do know that there are a ton of famous names joining the series for its sophomore outing, including Lady Gaga. Having already appeared in the likes of American Horror Story, Machete Kills, and Joker: Folie à Deux, The Addams Family spinoff seems right up her alley, and when it comes to what she's been like on set, star Jenna Ortega says Gaga is one of the most "talented" people she's ever worked with.
Ortega was on hand at SXSW to celebrate the release of her new film Death of a Unicorn, and IndieWire caught up with the actress to discuss Gaga's role in Wednesday Season 2, which at this point remains a mystery. Ortega wasn't about to spill the beans on that front, but the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice star did provide fans with a...

Miramax Films’ musical fantasy comedy Ella Enchanted will officially be heading to a brand-new streaming home soon. The 2004 movie was led by Academy Award-winner Anne Hathaway in one of her earliest movie roles, following the success of 2001’s The Princess Diaries.
Beginning on March 6, Ella Enchanted will be available for streaming on Prime Video. In the film, Hathaway portrayed the titular role of Ella, a young woman whose fairy godmother granted her the magical gift of obedience. This ability requires her to immediately obey any command she has been given. However, as she grows up, this so-called gift proves to be more of a curse than a blessing, since it gives anyone the power to take advantage of her. During its theatrical run, it received negative reviews from critics and fans of the novel, with a Tomatometer rating of 51% on Rotten Tomatoes. This was due to its lack of faithfulness from the original source material.

In the annals of British TV, there have been a lot of great shows that have found success here in America. Downton Abbey, Doctor Who, and Luther are a few that come to mind, as are such classics as Faulty Towers, Absolutely Fabulous, and, of course, Red Dwarf, the sci-fi sitcom that's gained a cult following over the years to become one of the most beloved series ever made. However, while fans have been eagerly anticipating a return to their favorite mining spacecraft, it appears as if plans have unfortunately fallen through, and a reported Season 13 might not happen after all.
Speaking with Radio Times, Red Dwarf star Craig Charles told the outlet that a return of the British sitcom might not happen now due to finances. It was previously announced in 2024 that Red Dwarf would be filming three new episodes in 2025, with other key cast members Chris Barrie, Danny John-Jules...

Why in the name of all that’s funny do American producers try to adapt British sitcoms for U.S. audiences? The easy answer: Sometimes, it works. Norman Lear’s All in the Family and Sanford and Son were huge hits based on U.K. comedies, while the American version of The Office is arguably the most successful (or at least the most imitated) sitcom of the century.
But alongside those successes are a series of miserable failures that got lost in translation. Here are five examples of failed American versions of classic British sitcoms…
1 Fawlty Towers
In 2000, the British Film Institute ranked Fawlty Towers first on its list of the 100 Greatest British Television Programmes, and Channel 4 had Basil Fawlty number two on its list of the 100 Greatest Television Characters. With its simple premise — an uptight dolt runs a dysfunctional hotel — Fawlty Towers was an obvious choice for an American update.

Fubo and comedian Ryan Reynolds have given up on the Maximum Effort Channel less than two years after the free, ad-supported streaming television (Fast) network launched, The Desk has learned.
The channel is no longer available on a handful of third party platforms, including Plex, LG Channels, Xumo Play and Amazon’s Freevee, after technology provider Wurl pulled the plug on the network earlier this week. A website that promoted the channel and its availability went offline on Tuesday. On Dish Network’s Fast platform, Sling Freevee, the Maximum Effort Channel continues to be listed, but its programming feed has been replaced with a “technical difficulties” graphic.
Neither Fubo nor Maximum Effort, the Reynolds-backed company that programmed the channel, have released public statements on the closure of the channel.

Before production had begun on the anticipated film adaptation of Enid Blyton‘s The Magic Faraway Tree, director Ben Gregor worried that he’d put one of his stars, Andrew Garfield, off a little bit.
“We wrote a song for the film and we sent it to Andrew early on,” Gregor explains to The Hollywood Reporter. “And I hadn’t worked with him yet and you don’t know… With actors sometimes, you can put them off.”
But Garfield loved it. The gesture ended up being instrumental in the atmosphere that Gregor later cultivated on set — one of true-heartedness, trust, and that crucial Blyton ingredient: magic. “Everybody was putting themselves out there,” Gregor says.

It can be tricky to pick a British sitcom to watch when there are so many to choose from. The vast selection ranges from mockumentary to comedies that break the 4th wall, and narratives that explore relationships, work life and religion. On the plus side, such a wide variety means there is something for everyone, no matter a viewer's taste in TV.
Britbox is a great streaming service that supplies some of the best sitcoms. There's shows that date back to the '80s, and much modern shows that have yet to bring out another episode. Even though the choice is narrowed, it can still be hard to know which program to pick, so here are a few of the best sitcoms currently on Britbox.

The actress Juno Temple is good at many things, but one of them is not — and has never been — living in the real world. “I’m fucking really not good at reality,” she’d said on a recent Friday afternoon, while taking a turn or two around Tokio7, one of New York City’s most well-loved vintage shopping establishments, and picking up items that seemed to prove her point.
“That’s got some real good twinkle to it, right?” she asks, flittering to a display case that holds a denim...

Singer and TV and radio personality Emma Bunton has signed with WME for representation in all areas.
Perhaps best known for her tenure as Baby Spice, Bunton and her fellow Spice Girls dominated pop culture in the ’90s with a string of chart-topping singles and the kind of ubiquity rarely achieved in music. During the two decades in which the girl group has stayed largely dormant, she’s forged a career as a TV and radio host.
Most recently, Bunton has served as host of British radio program Feel Good Weekend on Heart FM. (That gig recently afforded her a viral moment, when she surprised noted Spice Girls enthusiast Blake Lively in studio.)
On TV, Bunton has served as a judge on Dancing on Ice and Boy Band and served as a mentor on The X Factor in her native U.K. In the U.S., she co-hosted two seasons...

Season 2 of the hit Netflix Addams Family series Wednesday has been filming in Ireland since May, and Netflix has just unveiled a video that gives a glimpse behind the scenes. In the process, they have also confirmed that the new batch of episodes will premiere sometime in 2025. Among the cast and crew members seen in the video are, of course, star Jenna Ortega, as well as director Tim Burton – and during a chat with Collider, Al Gough (who created this series with Miles Millar) revealed that Burton is directing half of season 2, which is the same thing he did for the first season. That means Burton is at the helm of four of the season’s eight episodes.
Wednesday comes to us from Millar Gough Ink, Tim Burton Productions, Toluca Pictures, and MGM Television, and is described as a comedic, supernaturally-infused coming-of-age series that follows the teenage girl’s years...

With Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s Deadpool & Wolverine being closer than ever to the theaters, entertainment outlets are dropping iconic anecdotes surrounding the film and its making. Similarly, one such exciting story caught our attention, that revolves around a particular song used in the Deadpool threequel.
Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool & Wolverine | Marvel Studios
Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and even filmmaker Shawn Levy had apparently poured a herculean effort into obtaining permission from Madonna to use her 1989 hit Like a Prayer. Well, the song’s inclusion in the film is a big deal, since it has only been used once before in a film- Drew Barrymore’s Never Been Kissed.
Securing the Rights to Like a Prayer Wasn’t an Easy Feat for Ryan Reynolds
During the post-production phase for Deadpool & Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and director Shawn Levy mutually agreed on one particular aspect.

There’s funny, there’s very funny, and then there’s Oh, Mary!, Cole Escola’s riotous new comedy that brings more laughs to Broadway than all the Gutenberg!s, Edelmans and Birbiglias combined. You can throw in Shucked for good measure.

New to the Jenna Ortega-led ensemble are the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning Steve Buscemi (now given second billing on the show), Olivier-winning British actress Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Australian Noah Taylor. It’s unknown who the new characters are other than their names; Buscemi’s “Barry Dort” does not appear in previous “Addams Family” lore, so it’s anyone’s guess.

‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Announces Full Cast as Filming Kicks Off, Percy Hynes White Dropped From Series
“Wednesday” Season 2 is officially in production in Ireland, with Netflix revealing the full cast for the new season of the hit series.
Jenna Ortega will of course be returning as Wednesday Addams, while Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo will all be upped to series regulars for Season 2. Zeta-Jones plays Morticia, while Guzmán plays Gomez and Ordonez plays Pugsley. Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Hunter Doohan, Victor Dorobantu, Moosa Mostafa, and Georgie Farmer will also be returning, as will Fred Armisen and Jamie McShane in guest roles.
Noticeably absent from the announcement is Percy Hynes White, who starred in Season 1 as Xavier Thorpe. In 2023, Hynes White decried a “campaign of misinformation” after allegations of sexual assault were made against him on social media.
Other new series regulars include: Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter and Noah Taylor.

Exclusive: Comedian and writer Julian Clary (Julian Clary: Live – Lord of the Mince) will play the title role in this festive season’s London Palladium pantomime Robin Hood, with singer and travel show presenter Jane McDonald (Cruising with Jane McDonald) topping the bill as Maid Marion.
The annual Palladium show, now in its ninth consecutive season, has become an eagerly awaited staple in the West End’s calendar. It runs from December 7 through January 12, 2025. Priority booking opens 10 Am (GMT) April 25.
Last year’s production, Peter Pan, with comedy legend Jennifer Saunders making her pantomime debut as Captain Hook, and with Clary playing Seaman Smee, was a sold-out success, playing 56 performances -often two a day – to an audience of more than 123,000 at the 2,200 capacity variety house.
When tickets went on sale, there was a moment when 90,000 people were in the queue, waiting their turn to book seats.

American TV bosses obviously didn’t learn many lessons from “Episodes,” the Showtime/BBC co-production which brilliantly skewered the habit of adapting British sitcoms, and removing all nuances, subtleties, and idiosyncrasies in the process. In the 13 years since its premiere, there’s been numerous failed pilots (“Spy”), ratings disasters (“Free Agents”), and entire series considered unfit for public consumption (“Us and Them”) which originated across the pond. Now the most singular UK comedy of the 2010s is going transatlantic.
The BAFTA-nominated “Friday Night Dinner” — which served up 37 episodes from 2011-2020 —stemmed from creator Robert Popper’s real-life secular Jewish family and their weekly Shabbat meals, explaining why everything from its suburban London home to its lovable oddballs feels so wonderfully specific. Disappointingly, Amazon Freevee’s “Dinner with the Parents” is as generic as its title.
The 10-part series on Freevee does attempt to retain some of the original’s quirks.
