As he came to the forced end of his career, Bruce Willis starred in more than 20 straight-to-dvd movies that, at the time of their release, were panned by critics and saw the actor temporarily being given his own Razzie award category. Many of those movies were seen in a different light following the revelation of Willis’ dementia diagnosis, and two of them are now streaming on Hulu for fans to evaluate for themselves.
Fortress and its sequel, Fortress: Sniper's Eye, were released in 2021 and 2022, respectively. Willis plays Robert Michaels, a former U.S. intelligence officer now living in a top-secret resort away from the world and his life of danger. That is until his estranged son Paul (Jesse Metcalfe) tracks him down, bringing with him a figure from Robert’s past, and they end up fighting for survival inside the high-tech bunker known as the fortress.

As January wraps up, Hulu is keeping the momentum going with an impressive lineup of new titles next month. Whether you’re into movies, TV shows, or both, there’s plenty to keep you entertained throughout February.
Hulu is starting strong with over 60 new titles arriving on February 1 alone. Some standout additions include Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Kill Bill Vol. 2, as well as all four seasons of the classic ’90s drama New York Undercover.
Reality TV fans will also have something to look forward to with the season six premiere of The Kardashians.
But as exciting as the new arrivals are, there’s always the bittersweet reality that some beloved titles are leaving. In February, Hulu will only be removing movies, so TV lovers can breathe easy. However, the list of departing films includes some good titles, like Titane (2021) and Spencer (2021), which earned Kristen Stewart an Oscar nomination.

Over the 2024 holiday season, I did a marathon of the early Zack Snyder Dceu movies, and that experience left me with nine big takeaways. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman, and Zack Snyder’s Justice League, but with the upcoming soft […]

However, according to Letterboxd (the internet’s favorite movie-tracking app), in 2024, two stars captivated audiences way more than the rest: the human meme machine, Willem Dafoe, and Hollywood’s reigning heartthrob, Timothée Chalamet. Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios have released the first poster for James Gunn's Superman. A teaser was also shared on their social media accounts, announcing that the official teaser trailer for the first DC Universe movie would be released on Thursday, Dec. 19 at 6 a.m. Pst.
The motion poster shows David Corenswet's Superman flying upwards, with the tagline reading, "Look Up." The motion poster is accompanied by a reimagined version of John Williams' classic theme from the 1978 Superman movie, seemingly confirming that this will also be the theme of Corenswet's Man of Steel. As for the teaser to the teaser trailer, not much is shown except for the Superman shield, the family crest of the House of El, which is shown carved into some steel. The only auditory clue given is the wind blowing, hinting that this could be the Dcu's Fortress of Solitude. Check out the poster and teaser below.

Dragon Ball's Red Ribbon Army Saga has been the perfect way to heighten Gokus struggles and raise the stakes. Its incredible to see how fulfilling these episodes have been, despite the abundance of filler thats kicked off this new story arc. Goku has already faced off against enemies old and new, reflecting just how much he has grown in a short period of time.
Dragon Ball Episode 32, The Flying Fortress Vanished! brings closure to the animes recent two-parter that reunites Goku and Chi-Chi for an adventure thats as chaotic as it is romantic. Despite being filler, Episode 32 stays true to Dragon Balls characters and tone. The anime expands on Akira Toriyama's worldbuilding in rich ways the manga never did.

Quick Links Is Rise of the Titans the Next Transformers Movie? Why Is the Continuity of the Transformers Movies So Confusing?
The Transformers movie franchise has been a regular in theaters since 2007, with the newest entry in the series now being released. This is Transformers One, an animated movie that showcases the early days of Optimus Prime and Megatron. Though this is the main movie on the horizon for the robots in disguise, there's another project that many fans seem to think is also coming down the pipeline.
Transformers 8: Rise of the Titans seems to suggest that a sequel involving some of the biggest Transformers in the franchise is being made. In reality, the possibility of Transformers 8 being a real project is the furthest thing from the truth, especially given the current state of the franchise.

There can only be one Jackie Chan. The legendary actor/filmmaker/martial artist is known for his unique style of fight choreography that blended action with comedy. Choreographing his own fights, performing them, and directing them, Chan became a global star when he conquered Hollywood in the ‘90s.
Before he broke into English-language films with Rumble in the Bronx, Jackie Chan attempted to expand his horizons in Hollywood with The Big Brawl. Laying the foundations for his now-iconic style of choreography, the actor demonstrated how he threw realistic punches in an interview. The realistic fake-outs seem straight out of WWE’s playbook.

The first season of Time Bandits has come to an end. Things began with the titular thieves – Penelope, Alto, Widgit, Bittelig, and Judy – stealing the map that allowed its owner to travel through time from the Supreme Being because they were too tired of being bullied by him. Their adventures brought them to Kevin’s house, and he became a part of the gang because of his love for history. But when Kevin’s actions caused his parents to be turned into coal by Fianna, i.e. Pure Evil’s hired assassin, the kid spent the rest of the show trying to get to the point in his timeline where his parents were about to be attacked. Since Widgit took a lot of time to figure out how the map worked, the bandits ended up at various historical junctures and influenced them in subtle and not-so-subtle ways. But when one...

With the start of the new year, we can look forward to the start of a new cinematic universe based on DC characters – Dcu. And while Dceu ended its run with a somewhat successful ‘Aquman and the Lost Kingdom, ‘ the fact still remains that the majority of the movies have flopped. Sheldon's hoarding habit was hinted at years before it was revealed, showing his struggle to let go of the past. Sheldon's character growth on The Big Bang Theory was highlighted by his increased sensitivity and gratitude towards his friends. Sheldon's mother also struggled with hoarding, indicating how his upbringing may have influenced his own habits.
While The Big Bag Theory eventually revealed that Sheldon had a secret problem he tried to hide, this sad twist was foreshadowed more than two years earlier. Like most sitcom stars, The Big Bang Theory’s main characters changed and grew as the show progressed; Howard, for instance, was a sleazy creep in the show's early seasons, but he went on to become a surprisingly sweet, supportive partner. Similarly, Penny’s initially thin characterization was fleshed out as viewers got an idea of her personality outside of Leonard’s instant infatuation with her. Of course,...

While the depiction of flak in the show is accurate and faithful to the real-life experience, the Allies' initial underestimation of its effectiveness differs from historical accounts.
Spoiler Warning: This article contains spoilers for Masters of the Air.
In the Apple TV+ show, Masters of the Air, a particularly dangerous weapon known as "flak" is utilized by the Nazis to devastating effect in many of the war drama's most intense dogfight scenes. Although Masters of the Air isn't quite as good as Band of Brothers, the show excels in depicting the brutality of war while also fleshing out its characters.

Christopher Reeve's portrayal of Superman defined the character for the big screen with memorable moments that still hold up after 35 years. The Fortress of Solitude, revealed with impressive special effects and a physical set, defined Superman's extraterrestrial origins and remains iconic. The lighter tone of Reeve's Superman, showcased through humor and one-liners, demonstrates Superman's virtue and adds to the character's charm.
It has been over 35 years since Christopher Reeve last donned the iconic red and blue getup of Superman, and despite being one of the first iterations of Superman in film, way before the Dcu, there are still plenty of moments that hold up to this day. Christopher Reeve is lauded as a legend in the industry primarily for his tenure as Superman, with a career that, through no fault of his own, was slightly marred by the final two movies he appeared in. Jean-Claude Van Damme reveals details of a possible fight with Steven Seagal in Las Vegas, but Seagal didn't take the offer. Van Damme believes that if a fight with Seagal happened, he would run faster and tire Seagal out before coming back to fight. The rivalry between Van Damme and Seagal began when Seagal questioned Van Damme's martial arts skills, and Van Damme challenged him to a fight at a party hosted by Sylvester Stallone.
Action movie icon Jean-Claude Van Damme reveals that there was once a discussion about pitting him against fellow action star and long-time rival Steven Seagal in Las Vegas. Speaking with The Telegraph, Van Damme began diplomatically when discussing Seagal and their rivalry, before revealing that the former head of Sony Pictures, Peter Guber, had once suggested a Van Damme versus Seagal fight at The Mirage. With the stars receiving $20 million apiece.

The Star Wars galaxy is a richly populated realm filled with countless stories. Beyond the well-known tales of the Skywalker Saga and the multiple recent Star Wars series streaming on Disney+, peripheral media from both Star Wars Legends and the new Disney-era canon has granted almost every character to ever appear in the franchise their own history and their own role in the galaxy.
The Star Wars prequel trilogy depicted the Jedi Order at the height of its power, showing audiences a new vision of the galaxy at a time when it was filled with Jedi. While many of these Jedi only appeared as background characters in the prequels or as brief supporting characters on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, they all had their own value and their own stories to add to the legends of the Jedi Order. Many of Star Wars' most obscure Jedi have still managed to capture fans' hearts.

The film is a Belgian-Italian-Dutch-Bulgarian-Armenian co-production.
US actor Geraldine Chaplin and the Netherlands’ Jonas Smulders have joined the cast of US-Belgian filmmaker Jessica Woodworth’s drama Fortress.
Filming on the drama got underway this week in Sicily, and will run until October 5.
Woodworth has written the screenplay for the film, adapted from Dino Buzzati’s 1940 Italian novel The Tartar Steppe. It is about a young solder, hungry for battle, who embeds himself in an isolated fort where men wait in vain for an enemy to strike.
Woodworth is also producing with Peter Brosens for Belgium’s Bo Films and Krater Films.

"This is their story." ScreenDaily has released an early festival promo trailer for a film premiering at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival in the Director' Fortnight sidebar section. This Iraq-Italy-Kuwait co-production is a film about an Iraqi refugee chased through the wilderness by "migrant hunters" on a border in Europe. Adam Ali stars as Kamal, a migrant trying to get to Europe. At the border between Turkey and Bulgaria, local mercenaries are ruthlessly hunting down migrants. Alone in the forest, Kamal has three days to escape. The cast includes Svetlana Yantcheva, Pietro Ciciriello, Gassid Mohammed, Mohamed Zouaoui, and Erfan Rashid. My first impression is that this looks like that jaw-dropping Holocaust film Son of Saul, but for refugees trying to make it safely into Europe. I definitely need to watch this - it looks intense as hell. Here's the first promo trailer for Haider Rashid's Europa, direct from YouTube (via...

The first reviews for director Simon McQuoid's Mortal Kombat reboot are in, and it sounds like fans can confidently begin the celebrations. While Mortal Kombat does not release in the United States until April 23, it has already premiered internationally in several territories, with the general consensus being that the movie is not only a worthy adaptation of the video game, but also a gleefully violent thrill-ride.
Kervyn Cloete, Critical Hit left the theater wanting more, finding Mortal Kombat a solid foundation for a long-running live action franchise.
"For every step backward it takes, Mortal Kombat then promptly flying-bicycle kicks its way forward again to the point where I walked out of the cinema not just thoroughly entertained, but actually all-in on the next chapter teased in its closing moments. With just a $50 million reported price tag, the film won't need to do much to break even and guarantee a sequel,...

This Supergirl review contains spoilers for Season 5, Episode 18.
Knowing that this season came to an end three episodes before it was meant to, it’s honestly so difficult to judge the final episodes of Supergirl Season 5. Presumably, any resolutions we see in next week’s makeshift finale will, of necessity, not be terribly satisfying. There are plenty of overarching problems in Season 5 that are worth discussing: the fact that the Leviathan story has been a dud from jump, that the show let Lex Luthor take over a story that should have focused on Lena, and the season’s general abandonment of the “dangers of technology” theme it initially promised to tackle this season.
It’s a macro problem that’s apparent in this week’s episode as well, as “The Missing Link” is a largely workmanlike hour that seems more concerned with moving pieces into place for what’s still...
