Harrison Ford is still charming fans onscreen at the ripe old age of 82. Hailed as one of the greatest movie stars of all time, the actor’s continued determination and dedication to his profession is inspirational, to say the least.

However, his overwhelming domination of the industry even now, sparks an important question in the minds of many fans. Although it is a given fact that there will never be another Harrison Ford, what is happening to the current generation of Hollywood superstars?
Moreover, why can’t they provide the mass audience puller movies in the theaters? The answer to that, unfortunately, is quite complicated in nature.

Well, sometimes, you’ve got to color outside the lines to paint a masterpiece!
When you think of legends, you often imagine them as untouchable figures, perched on thrones, basking in the adoration of the masses. But then, you see Harrison Ford step into a comedy-drama like Shrinking, and suddenly, he feels less like an icon and more like a neighbor you’ve known forever—just with a little more swagger and a few more action-packed tales to share. There’s an unexpected warmth and humanity that makes him feel so much more real.

It’s not just Ford’s charm that’s drawing us in, but the boldness of a show that refuses to stick to the tried-and-true. In fact, the very creators of Shrinking were a bit terrified at first to push Ford into the wackier side of his character. Why?...

Unlike other holidays such as Christmas and Halloween, there aren’t too many great St. Patrick’s Day movies — with the possible exception of The Fugitive, an obscure Irish horror-comedy and one of the creepiest Disney movies ever made. But there are a number of solid St. Paddy’s Day-themed TV shows, one of the most memorable being The Simpsons’ “Homer vs. the Eighteenth Amendment.”
The Season Eight episode begins in mid-March, when Bart accidentally gets drunk during Springfield’s St. Patrick’s Day parade. After being urged to “think of the children,” officials soon discover that prohibition has actually been on the books for 200 years, making alcohol illegal in Springfield under “penalty of catapult.”
As a result, Moe’s Tavern becomes a speakeasy, “Moe’s Pet Shop,” and Homer begins living a double life as a bootlegger known as the “Beer Baron.” And not even the steely lawman Rex Banner can stop him.

U.S. Marshals, the 1998 crime film that serves as a sequel to The Fugitive, will get a free streaming home next month. That makes it the perfect time to see if it's really as bad as Robert Downey Jr. claims it is.
The film is one of many set to arrive on free streaming platform Tubi in April. U.S. Marshals arrives on April 1, alongside such movies as Wrath of Man, Edge of Tomorrow, and Once Upon a Time in America. While it holds a meager 30% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, it's arguably actor (and co-star) Rdj's comments about the movie that are the most damning, even today.
"You’ve had a traumatic year, you’ve been practically suicidal — what do you think would be really healing for you?" Downey Jr. mused in The Fall and Rise of the Comeback Kid (h/t Far Out Magazine). "How about like twelve weeks of running around as Johnny Handgun?...

Silver-screen titans Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones further demonstrated why they are two of Hollywood's most exceptional performers when they headlined the 1993 action thriller The Fugitive, an adaptation of the popular '60s TV series that focuses on Dr. Richard Kimble as he finds himself on the run after he is horrifically framed and convicted for the grisly murder of his wife, for which he is sentenced to death. Determined to clear his name and catch the real culprit, Kimble attempts to evade the authorities and uncover the truth, with the dogged Deputy U.S. Marshal Sam Gerard determined to capture Kimble.
Both a lauded critical and commercial success, The Fugitive grossed over $368 million during its theatrical run while receiving seven Academy Award nominations, with Jones taking home the accolade for Best Supporting Actor and Ford being nominated for a Golden Globe for his commanding portrayal. While Gene Hackman stayed busy throughout his acting career, he seemingly worked nonstop in the late 1980s, especially in 1988, when he had five films in theatrical release. Whether Hackman appeared in good films during this period, like the great 1987 thriller No Way Out, or bad films, like Superman IV: The Quest for Peace, didn’t seem to matter to the actor, who later admitted that his incessant work schedule was grounded in his loneliness.
One of Hackman’s most underrated performances is featured in the 1989 political action thriller film The Package, in which he plays Johnny Gallagher, a Green Beret sergeant who is given the seemingly menial task of escorting a disgraced sergeant, played by Tommy Lee Jones, from West Berlin to the United States for a court-martial trial. However, after the prisoner escapes his custody, Gallagher becomes immersed in a conspiracy that threatens to trigger World War III.

Part of the reason "The Simpsons" has become the longest-running primetime scripted series is because it appeals to pretty much every demographic. As Charles Soloman, former LA Times animation critic, said during the documentary "The Simpsons: America's First Family," the show "reminded us that something that's really family entertainment will appeal to the least sophisticated member of the audience and the most sophisticated member of the audience on different levels." If you were an adult, you appreciated the sharp satire and the often strikingly emotional storylines that typically made for some of the best episodes of "The Simpsons." If you were a kid, you loved Bart's irreverence and anti-establishment antics, as well as Homer's dimwittedness.
An added bonus of being a kid and watching "The Simpsons," however, was that its humor often made you feel smarter. You didn't always get the references to "H.M.S. Pinafore" or the...

Harrison Ford's first feature film was an uncredited role as a bellhop in the 1966 James Coburn crime thriller "Dead Heat on a Merry-Go-Round." He was 24. It's wild to think that Ford, when he was 80, also starred in the 2023 blockbuster "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny," which was set in 1969. The elderly Indiana Jones, if he was a movie fan, could have seen the film debut of Harrison Ford.
Sylvester Stallone's first feature film came in 1969, when he was 23. He played an uncredited extra in a film called "The Square Root." Indeed, for the first three years of his career, Stallone mostly played uncredited roles, turning up in films like "What's Up, Doc?," "Bananas," and "Klute." Stallone doesn't have a career wraparound like Ford's above, but he was recently the subject of "Sly," a documentary about his career.

Whether it's overlooked historical Westerns or even Zac Efron movies, K-dramas — South Korean live-action scripted television — take their inspiration from a myriad of sources. For the 2018 mystery series "Ms. Ma, Nemesis," the Korean show was heavily influenced by classic British author Agatha Christie. More specifically, as evidenced by its title, "Ms. Ma, Nemesis" was based on the 1971 novel "Nemesis," the final book Christie wrote starring her famous recurring detective Miss Marple. And while "Ms. Ma, Nemesis" goes beyond the 1971 novel, its adaptation of one of Agatha Christie's best books makes this K-drama stand out.
"Ms. Ma, Nemesis" stars Kim Yunjin as a wealthy heiress who is falsely convicted and incarcerated for the murder of her daughter. Escaping from prison to track down the real culprit and clear her name, the woman decides to use her deductive crime-solving skills in solving other cases. She does this by working under an assumed name,...

Will there ever be another Hulk movie? Oh, I'm sure Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner will pop back up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe soon, probably in "Avengers: Doomsday" and/or "Secret Wars." But due to Universal Pictures maintaining ownership over some Hulk movie rights, Marvel Studios can currently only feature him as a member of an ensemble.
Marvel Studios' first and only solo Hulk film wasn't a big success. 2008's "The Incredible Hulk" got a middling response and still stands as the series' earliest black sheep. That movie's star, Edward Norton, was recast and the film only got a direct sequel recently in, of all pictures, "Captain America: Brave New World." But the not-so-"Incredible Hulk" wasn't the first Hulk movie.

Captain America: Brave New World was a winner over President’s Day weekend despite a mixed response from critics that gave it a 49% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Thankfully, the audience disagreed, with the movie getting an 80% audience score from the Popcorn Meter. Besides being No. 1 at the box office opening weekend, this Captain America movie was the first to not star Chris Evans. Its success silences the people who will claim “This isn’t my Captain America” by knocking Sam Wilson (played by Anthony Mackie) because of the color of his skin.
Like most superhero movies, Captain America: Brave New World had flaws. But, as Bam Smack Pow's own Michael Patterson wrote, it’s still an entertaining thriller. The news of the passing of Gene Hackman and his wife and his dog has left peers and fans alike stunned. Yesterday, after the news broke, the iconic French Connection star was paid tribute to by a number of his former collaborators and a great number of his fans. Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola worked with Hackman on the spy classic The Conversation and took to social media to say, “The loss of a great artist, always cause for both mourning and celebration: Gene Hackman a great actor, inspiring and magnificent in his work and complexity. I mourn his loss, and celebrate his existence and contribution.”
Deadline now reports that comedy maestro Mel Brooks has also paid tribute to Hackman by remembering working with him on his film Young Frankenstein. Brooks recalled on his social media, “I was privileged to know Gene Hackman because he played tennis with another Gene—Gene Wilder.

Given the sad news that Gene Hackman, the most legendary of all actors, has passed away, tributes will (appropriately) be coming in non-stop. After all, he was the greatest of the greats, and the fact that he retired relatively early (back in 2004) adds to his mystique, as he went out at the top of his game. Given his rich legacy of work, everyone will no doubt be offering tributes to his best movies, like Unforgiven, The French Connection, The Royal Tenenbaums, and many more. Here at JoBlo, we’re gonna do something a little different and pay tribute to the star by singling out some of his lesser-seen films, hoping that maybe fans of his find something on this list they haven’t seen before and can enjoy for the first time!

The Academy Awards were once the gold standard of cinematic excellence. Since then, they have spiraled into a glittery, self-important popularity contest. Now, merit takes a backseat to politics, nostalgia, and the inexplicable desire to award the most Oscar-bait performance of the year.
It’s a chaotic mix of questionable snubs, undeserving wins, and choices so baffling they make you wonder if the voters are watching the same movies as the rest of us.

“1923” has returned.
Taylor Sheridan’s “Yellowstone” prequel series, which followed “1883,” first premiered back in December 2022. By comparison, that was around when “Avatar: The Way of Water” hit theaters. That feels like an eon ago, right? But the point is: it’s back and we are very excited.

Another Jason Statham action thriller, Mutiny – this one from the director of Plane – has its US release set for January 2026.
Jason Statham, whose action output appears to be increasing over time, is currently shooting an untitled thriller somewhere in the UK or Ireland as these words are being typed. Meanwhile, an action thriller he shot in the autumn of 2024, Mutiny, now has a US release date – 9th January 2026.
Mutiny is the work of French director Jean-François Richet, who previously brought us the robust Gerard Butler thriller, Plane, which happens to include one of the most unfortunately-named fictional airline companies in film history.
According to Deadline, Statham will star as one Cole Reed, a private security specialist who’s framed for the murder of his billionaire boss. It sort of sounds a bit like 1993’s The Fugitive, though we suspect Statham’s Cole will break more jaws and ribs than Harrison Ford did as Richard Kimble.

Stephen King has a soft spot for comic books and superheroes. "The Dark Tower" series features the Wolves of the Calla, who wear outfits right out of Doctor Doom's closet. King's 1980 novel "Firestarter" features a psychic father on the run with his fire-starting daughter, like "The Fugitive" mixed with "X-Men." In 2010, King wrote a back-up story in the first five issues of Scott Snyder's horror comic "American Vampire." “Nosferatu” (Craig Lathrop), “Wicked” (Nathan Crowley), and “Conclave” (Suzie Davies) were the period, fantasy, and contemporary production design winners at the 29th annual Art Directors Guild Awards, held February 15 at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown.
Also winning for animation was “The Wild Robot”, following its Annies sweep and Ves prizes. On the TV side, “Shōgun,” “Squid Game,” “Fallout,” and “The Penguin” were the winners for their production designers in their respective categories.
The Lathrop win for “Nosferatu” was not surprising when you consider that “The Brutalist” production designer Judy Becker is not an Adg member. She has been the presumptive Oscar favorite for channeling Oscar-nominated Adrien Brody’s visionary architect, László Tóth, in applying a Brutalist style to the architectural designs of mid-century Pennsylvania with its bold shapes and function over form aesthetic.

The legal thriller as a genre features many trademarks: a brave lawyer standing upagainst a corrupt system to fight for justice and what is right; a procedural drama mostly in a courtroom where the tension slowly but continuously dials up; or a character is wrongly accused of a crime and has to fight to clear their name. Films like Erin Brockovich, A Time to Kill, and The Fugitive, respectively, are perfectly fine examples of strong films from the genre.

There isn’t another living actor who has more iconic films on his resume than Harrison Ford. While playing a lead part in the Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Blade Runner, and Jack Ryan franchises would likely be enough to solidify Ford as an all-time great, he also has many smaller films that are also worthy of praise, such as his Oscar-nominated role in Witness and his powerful performance in the film version of The Fugitive. Many young actors may have tried to model themself off of Ford’s success, but he did not exactly have a typical route to Hollywood stardom. Shortly after dropping out of school, earning his first onscreen speaking credit in the slapstick comedy Luv, Ford worked as a camera technician and roadie for a documentary on The Doors.

It’s not hard to argue that – among Hollywood icons – Harrison Ford sits pretty close to the top of the list. First blasting onto the scene as the coolest sci-fi character of all time, Han Solo, in Star Wars, throughout his career, no actor has ever been as good at inhabiting larger-than-life characters. If he’d only played Han, his place in the pantheon of actors would be guaranteed, but in the middle of his run, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg also hired him to play Indiana Jones (as a last-minute replacement for Tom Selleck), giving him another iconic character under his belt, who – perhaps – is an even bigger pop culture icon than Han.
Throughout the eighties and nineties no one had a better run than Ford, with him alternating acclaimed dramas like Witness, The Mosquito Coast, Presumed Innocent, and more with his blockbuster fare. In 1992, he was tapped to...

Scott Derrickson’s The Gorge is about the lengths human beings will go to for love. The action romance contains a handful of other genres on top of it, but the crux of writer Zach Dean’s story centers on the distant courtship of two lonely snipers named Drasa (Anya Taylor-Joy) and Levi (Miles Teller). For a period of one year, the highly skilled operatives are contracted to stand guard at their own individual observation towers that are separated by a 600-meter gorge. More specifically, the two gatekeepers are tasked with preventing whatever evil lurks at the bottom of the ravine from getting out into the world.
Despite communication being forbidden by their employer, Drasa and Levi can’t help themselves after prolonged isolation. So they proceed to bond from afar until Valentine’s Day changes everything. Ultimately, Levi risks life and limb to cross the gorge and meet the...

Cynthia Erivo is now a two-time Oscar nominee after receiving immense acclaim for her performance as Elphaba in the movie musical Wicked. However, right before Wicked, Erivo acted in a much different film. The movie, Luther: The Fallen Sun, was a Netflix exclusive and incorporates multiple genres, including action, crime, and psychological thriller.
Erivo stars alongside Idris Elba, who plays the titular character, reprising his role from a popular BBC series. Erivo gets to act frequently with Elba in the film, as she spends a large portion chasing him before the two join forces. The film also turns dark as the motives of the twisted serial killer antagonist are revealed.

Harlan Coben has become a key creator of Netflix shows, and it’s not going to stop anytime soon! Here’s a look at what other shows based on the author’s works are coming to the streamer.
Since 1990, Harlan Coben has become a bestselling author known for twisty crime thrillers and dramas that often involve exploring the secrets buried behind seemingly idyllic families and neighborhoods. That includes the Myron Bolitar series and scores of stand-alone novels.
Not surprisingly, there have been some adaptations of Coben’s works, such as Prime Video’s short-lived Shelter. However, in 2018, Coben signed a deal with Netflix which has since produced eight limited series based on his various novels. The latest, Missing You, debuted on January 1, 2025.
However, that’s far from the last project coming to the streamer. Here’s 6 Harlan Coben shows that are in the works and coming to Netflix (and actually...

Jack De Mave, who portrayed a U.S. forest ranger on Lassie and an unconventional date for Valerie Harper’s Rhoda Morgenstern on the second episode of The Mary Tyler Moore Show, has died. He was 91.
De Mave died Jan. 16 in hospice care in Macon, Georgia, his friend Vickie Lovett told The Hollywood Reporter. He had suffered a heart attack on Thanksgiving Day, she said.
The hunky De Mave also appeared in such films as the Rock Hudson-starring Blindfold (1966), 1776 (1972) — as John Penn — and Mel Gibson’s The Man Without a Face (1993), and in the 1970s, he played The Lone Ranger in a series of Frito-Lay commercials that led to appearances in parades and in front of kids as the wholesome lawman.
The stage-trained actor joined the cast of the enduring CBS drama Lassie at the start of its 15th season as Forest Ranger Bob Erickson in 1968 and worked on 23 episodes over two years.

Although Harrison Ford is synonymous with multiple franchises and countless memorable performances, he wasn’t always such a household name.
Ridley Scott recently revealed that the actor, who just received his fifth Golden Globe nomination, wasn’t such an easy sell for the lead role of Rick Deckard in his 1982 sci-fi classic Blade Runner.
“Harrison Ford was not a star yet,” explained Scott to GQ. “He had just finished flying the Millennium Falcon in Star Wars. I remember my financiers saying, ‘Who the f— is Harrison Ford?’ I said, ‘You’re going to find out.’ So Harry became my leading man.”
In addition to his roles in Blade Runner and Star Wars, Ford’s leading man status has long been cemented by his performances in the Indiana Jones films, The Fugitive (1993) and his upcoming MCU debut as Red Hulk in Captain America: Brave New World, premiering Feb. 14 in theaters.

The original run of "The Twilight Zone" — between October 1959 and June 1964 — remains inimitable. Series creator Rod Serling helped create an anthology model that featured short, impactful episodes with twist endings, each one of them unified by the surreal allure of the titular liminal space. To venture into the Twilight Zone was to experience the bizarre and macabre, which often took on the appearance of mundanity to deceive unsuspecting travelers. While some episodes are unconventional morality tales that caution against the evils of consumerism or the price of hubris, others take mysterious turns and propose thought-provoking "what-if" scenarios. Although "The Twilight Zone" ventures beyond a singular genre, its memorable offerings have always been considered science fiction.
Sure, not every "Twilight Zone" story follows the conventions of this genre, but the shared connection to this liminal space creates a commonality that cannot be ignored. Some science fiction stories, like "The After Hours,...

Actor Harrison Ford has a career spanning almost seven decades which started with bit parts in the mid-1960s. His breakthrough performance came in 1973’s American Graffiti and he gained worldwide fame for his role as Han Solo in 1977’s Star Wars, both directed by George Lucas. As a result, Ford established himself as a leading man, an image he continues to carry.

Holes, the classic 2003 Disney film that played on every kid's television screen at some point, is being remade by the studio's streaming service because nothing is truly sacred in today's world. Based on a book by the same name, Holes starred Shia Labeouf as a teenager who is sent to a detention camp in Texas for a crime he didn't commit, as well as Khleo Thomas, who played Zero, a fellow prisoner. The adored adventure film is getting a television remake courtesy of Disney+, but with a major twist or two.
According to Variety, Disney+ has greenlit a pilot for a series based on the award-winning 1998 book Holes by Louis Sachar. The upcoming reboot will "reimagine" the original story with a gender-swapped protagonist from writer and executive producer Alina Mankin. What Did Al Pacino Say About Turning Down Han Solo Role & Giving Harrison Ford A Career? (Photo Credit – YouTube/Facebook)
Hold up, Al Pacino turned down Han Solo?! Yes, he did. Having delivered some of Hollywood’s most iconic performances in The Godfather, Serpico, and Dog Day Afternoon, he was offered the chance to become a galactic legend. But despite the big paycheck, Pacino passed on Star Wars in 1977.
At an event in New York, Pacino revealed the shocking story: “They gave me a script called Star Wars. They offered me so much money. I don’t understand it. I read it. So I said I couldn’t do it.” It’s as if the universe had conspired to create one of the most mind-boggling “What Ifs” in Hollywood lore. Instead of Pacino in the iconic role, we got Harrison Ford.
Ever the modest legend, Pacino quipped, “I gave Harrison Ford a career.

Marvel and DC Comics have both cultivated fandom with a shared universe between series. This web of continuity entangles young minds, who come to see the comics not merely as pulp adventures, but gateways to a whole other world whose history they could study and master. Then, superheroes took over 21st century Hollywood by importing this same storytelling model. But the first major superhero cinematic universe debuted on the small screen, not the silver one. Yes, before the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there was the DC Animated Universe (Dcau). A series of interconnected cartoons with overlapping cast and crew, the Dcau ran for 14 years from 1992 to 2006.
That long run would've been impossible without the people who made these cartoons. The first Dcau cartoon, "Batman: The Animated Series," was co-created by Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski. Timm's distinctive art style (like Jack Kirby meets pin-up girl posters) became the Dcau standard.

Get ready to hear a lot of talk this awards season about how baffling it is that Ralph Fiennes only has two Oscar nominations to his name, with his expected Best Actor nomination for Conclave on the horizon. Despite his continuing to give us indelible characters like M. Gustave, Chef Slowik, and lego Alfred Pennyworth, he's received barely any notable accolades. His best chance at winning an Oscar was when he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for playing Amon Göth in Schindler's List, a fresh face immortalized as one of the great villains in World War II cinema history. But, alas, he lost to Tommy Lee Jones for The Fugitive, a loss that has increasingly looked more egregious the longer time has gone on.

Sydney Pollack's 1993 thriller "The Firm" was the first film in a long series of mega-hits to be based on the literary output of John Grisham. Grisham, for those unfamiliar, was a lawyer-turned-writer who authored many supra-best-selling legal thrillers throughout the 1990s, including "The Pelican Brief," "The Client," "The Chamber," "A Time to Kill," and "Runaway Jury." There was a time when no one at an airport was without a Grisham novel in hand. Most of Grisham's books were about a young, upstart lawyer, new to the profession, who uncovers a vast legal conspiracy. To date, Grisham has written about 50 novels and four non-fiction books, and many of his bigger hits have been adapted into equally successful films.

The long-standing feud between Alec Baldwin and Harrison Ford continues to spark debate even today. While it’s true that Ford seemed to scoop up some of the roles Baldwin may have been considered for back in the day, does that mean Ford owes his entire career to Alec, or that he was somehow “saved” by him? Absolutely not!

It's often repeated that Harrison Ford hates "Star Wars" and Han Solo, the movie and role that made him a star. Ford himself leans into this, such as when he destroyed a Han Solo action figure on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."
Even while first filming the original 1977 "Star Wars," Ford wasn't the biggest fan of George Lucas' script: He memorably exclaimed "George! You can type this s***, but you sure can't say it!" Granted, it seems less that Ford despises "Star Wars" and more that he's just unsentimental about it. For him, playing Han Solo was just a successful gig, nothing more, and he's frustrated by the superfans who insist on always beating the dead tauntaun.
That unsentimental approach showed itself in his comments about being in "Star Wars" to Vanity Fair: "'Star Wars' was a big success, so I was happy to come back and play Han Solo again,...

Warning: Major spoilers for The Madness below! The Madness feels like a modern take on Harrison Ford's The Fugitive - but it's missing a key piece of spice that made the latter so great. The Madness cast Colman Domingo as Muncie Daniels, a media pundit who is framed for the murder of a white supremacist and forced to go on the run. The series has a lot on its mind about the present state of politics and race relations in the U.S., but the engine that drives the story is very similar to The Fugitive.
Just like Harrison Ford's Dr Kimble, Muncie is framed by an unseen foe and has to use his wits and smarts to stay ahead of his pursuers. The Madness feels more intense during its earlier episodes, where the threat against Muncie and his family is more intangible and vague. It arguably suffers when...

One of the greatest movie stars of all time, Harrison Ford has a presence on screen like no other actor of his generation, representing the kind of classic leading man that is becoming rarer and rarer in Hollywood blockbusters of the 21st Century. With his expressive face, iconic voice, and easy charisma, he is able to masterfully slip between humor and drama in movies like Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Fugitive, and Air Force One. Over his nearly 50-year career in film and television, Harrison Ford has played some of the most iconic characters of all time in some of the most influential and culturally relevant movies ever made.
One place where Ford is woefully underrepresented is at the Academy Awards, where he has been snubbed for many years. However, Ford's one nomination for Best Actor cannot be overlooked -- a deeply moving and captivating performance that...

Ralph Fiennes is an incredibly gifted actor, and his performance as Amon Göth in Schindler's List is unquestionably the best portrayal of a war movie villain. Steven Spielberg's project is widely regarded as one of the greatest movies of all time, and the 1993 motion picture is highly respected for how accurately Schindler's List's characters compare to real-life figures. Considering the film's enduring position in cinematic history, Ralph Fiennes' loss at the 1994 Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor remains a glaring injustice.
Tasked with overseeing the Kraków-Płaszów concentration camp, Amon Göth was a high-profile SS officer. A sadistic embodiment of evil, the actor's harrowing portrayal imbues Göth with chilling authenticity. However, despite being recognized and acclaimed for his haunting performance, Fiennes did not receive the recognition many felt he deserved at the 1994 Academy Awards ceremony. 30 years on, this decision only feels more ill-judged.

Colman Domingo delivers a modern-day “The Fugitive”-style paranoid thriller with Netflix’s new limited series “The Madness.” The “Rustin” and “Euphoria” star takes on the role of Muncie Daniels, a lauded CNN commentator who finds his spotlight turned against him when he stumbles onto the dead body of a high-profile white supremacist and winds up getting framed for the crime. With mysterious, seemingly ultra-powerful forces aligning against him, Muncie has to uncover the truth behind the convoluted web of money, politics and murder that led him there.
The eight-episode series surrounds Domingo with an ensemble full of familiar actors, so if you’re wondering where you’ve seen them before, here’s a handy guide to the cast and characters of “The Madness.”

Plot: Muncie Daniels is a respected media pundit who thinks he has it all. When he’s framed for the murder of a white supremacist, he must clear his name, protect his family, and unravel a high-level conspiracy before time runs out.
Review: The concept for the hit 1960s series The Fugitive spawned an award-winning box office hit in 1993 starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones but failed to ignite much buzz when it was rebooted on the small screen twice, in 2000 and 2020. While it does not share any official connections with the story of Dr. Richard Kimble and his search for a one-armed man who killed his wife, the new Netflix series The Madness may be the closest anyone has gotten to capturing the paranoia and tension that made The Fugitive so good. Led by Oscar-nominee Colman Domingo in one of his best performances to date, The Madness is...

Like the paranoid notions that drive their protagonists, conspiracy thrillers are constantly shifting. The genre is remarkably malleable; the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s produced some of the form’s best — “The Manchurian Candidate,” “Three Days of the Condor,” “Blow Out” — each of which iterated on the hallmarks of the form. A good political thriller is often decidedly of the moment, with enough meat on its bones to become timeless as it ages, and there’s certainly no shortage of material to draw on, given our current political climate.
The arrival of Netflix’s “The Madness” couldn’t be more timely if it tried. Anchored by Colman Domingo, the 8-episode limited series created by Stephen Belber and co-showrun with VJ Boyd kicks off its premise in pretty short order: When media pundit Muncie Daniels (Domingo) becomes the prime suspect in the murder case of a notable white supremacist in the Poconos woods,...
