What Did The Westcott Family Say About Katy Perry? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Kameron Westcott, former star of The Real Housewives of Dallas, is seething, but her fury isn’t directed at a fellow reality star. It’s aimed at none other than pop powerhouse Katy Perry and her fiance, actor Orlando Bloom. The heat between the two sides reportedly stems from a bitter legal battle over a Montecito mansion that Kameron claims has become an appalling case of greed.
A Dying Man’s Plea
The couple, reportedly worth a staggering $400 million, has been relentless in pursuing the television star’s ailing father-in-law, Carl Westcott, an 85-year-old veteran battling Huntington’s disease.

Tate McRae stopped by The Tonight Show to perform her song “Revolving Door.” The moody track appears on her new LP, So Close to What, which hit No. 1 on the Billboard Album chart this week.
McRae showcased the song inside a white box fitted with a revolving floor and spotlight. She was accompanied by two dancers, giving the song a stylish visual that subtly evoked the song’s music video.

Pop star Tate McRae brought legions of fans to the Kia Forum Thursday night for an activation-filled release event for her latest album, So Close to What.
Taking over the parking lot of the Inglewood arena, the event was a McRae superfan’s dream — featuring photo ops, outfit displays, food trucks and freebie booths from American Express, Adidas and Neutrogena, the latter as sponsors of the event.
Fans, many dressed in McRae-inspired ensembles of hotpants and a jersey, had to request a chance to purchase tickets for $8 through Ticketmaster. All ticket revenue is donated to FireAid to support L.A. wildfire relief efforts. The event was also streamed on TikTok for those who couldn’t be in person.
McRae took the stage around 9 p.m., right as her new album was released, performing her recent single “Sports car” and “It’s Ok I’m Ok,” lights from cranes surrounding the stage and setting the scene.

The British singer-songwriter has no previous Grammy nominations, but he’s a hit in his native country, with his two previous albums Hypersonic Missiles and Seventeen Going Under both topping the charts and going platinum in the U.K. He hasn’t quite caught on in the U.S. yet. The 30-year-old rocker peaked at No. 12 on Billboard‘s Heatseekers Albums chart for new and developing artists with Missiles, and he has placed two songs on the Hot Rock and Alternative Songs chart, but he has otherwise kept a low profile on this side of the Atlantic. That said, he has been embraced by music journalists: People Watching has a Metacritic score of 90 based on the first six reviews counted.

It’s New Music Friday, and the freezing cold won’t keep us from streaming some excellent new albums over the weekend.
Today marks the arrival of Sam Fender’s third album People Watching, which he worked on alongside The War on Drugs’ Adam Granduciel. Here are eight new albums to stream today.
Abdomen — Yes, I Don’t Know
Abdomen are a Dutch power trio who come through with washed-out, angular indie rock. Today, they return with their sophomore effort, Yes, I Don’t Know. The new tunes are off-kilter and engaging, leaning hard on repetition and dynamics to foster an unpredictable and exciting tone.

Tate McRae can see the future. Just look to the 2023 video where she predicts the exact score the Eagles would win the 2024 Super Bowl with. “I pulled a number out of my ass,” she says with a laugh over Zoom before admitting she does believe she might be a little bit clairvoyant. “I have predicted the future many times before, so maybe it was a true prediction.”

It would be amazing to see Drake rebound with a banger of an album after getting ethered for a year straight by an objectively better rapper, Kendrick Lamar. Too bad that’s not what has happened with the artist’s latest offering, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U.
Drizzy’s new Valentine’s Day record recasts the Toronto rapper as a lover, not a fighter. Notably, on a track titled “Gimme A Hug,” he declares the feud with Lamar over (“Fuck a rap beef, I’m tryna get the party lit”), even though that’s not really how these things work.
PartyNextDoor, Ovo stalwart and generally unremarkable, plays second fiddle on this long, bloated, 21-song snoozer. In Drake’s world, it’s quantity over quality. You don’t have to make great music; you just have to make a lot of music. It makes you wonder what was left on the cutting...

Drake and Partynextdoor have released the track list for their $ome $exy $ongs 4 U album before its Valentine’s Day release. The Ovo labelmates shared the graphic on Instagram, describing the 21-track project as “74 personal minutes by Partynextdoor and Drake.” No feature artists appear on the tracklist, though their omission is typical for acts looking to surprise fans on release night.
Drake recently told attendees of his Anita Max Win Australian tour that, “It’s called $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, but it’s some turned up songs for you on there too.

Tate McRae has dropped a new single, “Sports Car,” along with a music video for the track. The sultry song was written and produced by Ryan Tedder, Grant Boutin, and Julia Michaels.
The video, directed by Bardia Zeinali and styled by Brett Alan Nelson, sees the singer posing in various fashion-forward ensembles as she performs the song. “There was so much discomfort with this video,” McRae told Vogue about creating the clip. “I wore wigs for the first time, which was a risk for me because I’ve always had my hair and my look.

On Thursday, Nov. 14, Canadian pop singer Tate McRae released a new single, “2 Hands,” along with an accompanying video (watch above). But that’s not all. She also announced that in 2025 she’ll be releasing a new album, “So Close to What,” and going on tour.
“So Close to What,” which will be her third album, drops on February 21. It follows her 2022 debut studio album “I Used to Think I Could Fly” and her 2023 followup “Think Later.” Before those efforts, she released two EPs, “All the Things I Never Said” in 2020 and “Too Young to Be Sad” in 2021. So she’s nothing if not prolific. All that and she’s still just 21 years old. “Making this album has been the most beautiful and exciting journey and I cannot wait to finally share it with you,” she said in her Instagram post announcing the new music.

Britney Spears is a musician who made a huge impact on both pop culture and the music industry. Fans still consider the singer to be the pre-internet era icon and a face for the teen pop generation of the early 2000s. However, it’s undeniable that her popularity has somewhat decreased over the years with new faces joining the music world.
A popular singer Tate McRae became a point of contention for fans when some dubbed her as the newer version of the Criminal singer. People online consider McRae to be a spitting image of Spears, in terms of her music, and this was not digestible for fans of the latter artist.

Tate McRae hit the black carpet in a lacy look while arriving at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards held at Ubs Arena on Wednesday (September 11) in Elmont, New York.
The 21-year-old entertainer wore a very similar look to what Britney Spears also wore over 20 years ago!
Britney rocked the ensemble while attending the 2001 MTV VMAs, which is when she hit the stage for her iconic “I’m a Slave 4 U” performance, where she carried a python on stage.
Also seen walking the carpet at the VMAs this year was Tate‘s boyfriend The Kid Laroi. While they didn’t hit the carpet together, they were seated next to each other inside the awards show.
This year, Tate is nominated twice – for Best Pop and Best Chorography for Sean Bankhead for her “Greedy” video.

Michael J. Fox's role in Tim Burton's Mars Attacks! is often overlooked, despite his energetic and sleazy performance as Jason Stone. Mars Attacks! featured a star-studded cast, including Jack Nicholson, Danny DeVito, and Pierce Brosnan, showcasing Burton's influence in the 1990s. Fox's performance in Mars Attacks! is worth remembering, as he found success in experimental films during this era of his career.
Though I and many know Michael J. Fox for his most iconic performance in Back to the Future, we should never forget his role in a famous Tim Burton movie. He gained acclaim as Marty McFly in the Back to the Future franchise, though Fox now has mixed feelings on reboot attempts. After the series ended in 1990, Fox had enough power to collaborate and experiment with his films. "The Following Story Is Inspired By True Events." Is there any greater tell-tale sign that what you are about to witness should be taken with a grain of salt? Lee Daniels' latest film, The Deliverance, begins with those words. The film is inspired by the true story of Latoya Ammons, who, along with her mother and three children, were allegedly subjected to possession and haunting in Gary, Indiana, in 2011. To give credence to such a story, one with such egregious examples of psychological manipulation of children 12, 9, and 7, is a risky and questionable endeavor, but the gamble is fascinating nonetheless.

“In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. ‘The Woman in Me’ reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history,” book publishers Simon & Schuster wrote in its synopsis of the project.

With the eligibility deadline being August 30, 2024, we only have five months left to gear up our predictions and then switch focus to all the campaigning that goes along with Grammy voting. So, with a lot of the major contenders being out already, let’s see how the race looks.

In terms of hit songs, a few stand out from the rest. While songs like Jack Harlow’s “Lovin On Me,” Doja Cat’s “Agora Hills,” Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s “Carnival,” Tate McRae’s “Greedy”, and Teddy Swims’s “Lose Control” (he’d also need to submit a live version) will likely be big contenders for nominations, there are four songs that, to me at least, currently sound like possible winners.

Elliot Page criticized Canada’s rollback of LGBTQ rights on the stage of the Juno Awards in Halifax, Nova Scotia on Sunday night.
“We are at a time in history where the rights of LGBTQ2+ people are being revoked, restricted and eliminated throughout the world, and the effects are devastating,” Page, a transgender Halifax native, said in a speech presenting twin singer-songwriters Tegan and Sara with the Junos’ humanitarian award. Page praised the work of the Tegan and Sara Foundation for 2Slgbtq+ youth, supporting health care services to youth programs. Earlier in the week, he said at BFI Flare, London’s LGBTQ film festival, that “30% of young people identify as LGBTQ,” referring to a survey released earlier this year about Gen Z adults in the U.S. “So I’m sorry, but this is not niche.”

Elliot Page came to the Junos Awards on Sunday night to denounce a rollback of LGBTQ2+ rights after the Umbrella Academy star came out as transgender and nonbinary at the end of 2020.
“We are at a time in history where the rights of LGBTQ2+ people are being revoked, restricted and eliminated throughout the world, and the effects are devastating,” Page said when citing the work by the Tegan and Sara Foundation to support and build social change for trans and queer youth at the Junos in his hometown of Halifax, Nova Scotia.
“If the world was not so hostile to LGBTQ2+ people, we would see ourselves purely as musicians,” Sara Quin, one half of the Canadian indie pop musicians Tegan and Sara, told the Juno audience. She called out the province of Alberta for recently proposing to restrict health care for transgender youth, including halting access to hormone therapy for children aged 15 and under.

This is already shaping up to be an interesting year for Best New Artist at the Grammys. The category might lack a clear frontrunner so far, as it is early in the year, but we do have some serious contenders who might pick up more steam closer to voting time this fall. Plus, an open field might make it even more interesting, unlike years where the winner was rather obvious like when Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish prevailed.
TikTok breakout Benson Boone might be positioning himself as the one to beat.
