The SnyderVerse. A very controversial topic. It evokes electronically and physically loud voices both for and against its existence even years after it has very clearly ended.
Then, Gunn posted a picture with Snyder to his X account.
Naturally, the internet exploded. What could Zack Snyder and James Gunn possibly be doing together? Are they working on a partnership? Is Snyder directing a new movie? Is the whole SnyderVerse returning? The duo, of course, knew exactly what they were doing. Gunn even said so in an interview with ScreenRant.
“I was just talking to Zack as a friend, so we were just hanging out and then we're like, 'Let's take a picture together.' We knew full well what we were doing... We thought it was funny. He thought it was funny, I thought it was funny. And that's it.”

Last month, James Gunn and Peter Safran announced three “younger-skewed” animated series: Starfire!, My Adventures with Green Lantern, and DC Superpowers, co-produced with Warner Bros. Animation.
For My Adventures with Green Lantern, it’s clear that the show won’t be part of the Dcu, as it takes place in the same universe as My Adventures with Superman. It follows Jessica Cruz, a teenager chosen to join the Green Lantern Corps, as she deals with the aftermath of an ancient war. The series is produced by DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation, with My Adventures with Superman co-showrunner Jake Wyatt serving as executive producer.
The same applies to DC Superpowers. The show follows a group of new students at the Alliance School for Heroes, including Lightning, The Flash, Plastic Man, Aquagirl, Green Lantern, and Terra. Under the guidance of their principal, Martian Manhunter, they train to develop their powers and...

The DC Universe and The Batman Epic Crime Saga are no longer DC Studios' only shared universes. My Adventures with Superman showrunner/executive producer Jake Wyatt has confirmed that a recently announced animated series will exist within the same universe as the 2023 cartoon.
At a recent DC Studios press event, co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran announced three new "younger-skewing" cartoons: Starfire, DC Super Powers, and My Adventures with Green Lantern. While it wasn't confirmed during the event, many fans suspected that My Adventures with Green Lantern might be connected to Maws beyond the similar naming convention, especially since Wyatt is attached to Mawgl as an executive producer. Wyatt didn't keep fans guessing for long, confirming with a post on X that the two shows would be part of the same shared universe.

The other day, James Gunn and Peter Safran — the two guys in charge of charting a new course for the DC Cinematic Universe — talked to reporters about their plans, and boy do they have them. Let's run down some of the things they said:
This new Dcu will officially launch with Superman, which will hit theaters on July 11, 2025. Gunn and Safran are cutting together a new trailer now as well as holding test screenings. They are psyched. “I’ve wanted to make a Superman movie since 1978 and the Superman film that James has made is exactly the one that teenage Peter Safran has been waiting for,” Safran said. After that, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will release on June 26, 2026. The movie will star House of the Dragon veteran Milly Alcock (Young Rhaenyra Targaryen) in the title role. "We’ve always viewed this transformative story as one of the cornerstones of our...

Many fans have questioned how wise it was of DC Studios to hold a press event last week that boiled down to them confirming that several of the projects they announced in 2023 have failed to come to fruition.
There were a handful of meaningful updates, though those were largely overshadowed by the fact the Dcu still doesn't have a Batman.
Three new animated TV shows were announced and, while they're primarily aimed at younger DC fans, the opportunity is there for older fans to have fun with these (especially as one of them is set in the same world as My Adventures with Superman).
That is, of course, My Adventures with Green Lantern, a series coming our way from executive producer Jake Wyatt and co-executive producer Stephanie Gonzaga.

It’s been just over two years since James Gunn and Peter Safran mapped out their initial slate of projects for DC Studios and what would be the newly revamped Dcu, a new interconnected universe of superhero movies and films based on DC characters and kicking off in earnest with Gunn’s “Superman” arriving this summer.
So where do they stand? In a press event last week on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, Gunn and Safran held court with journalists about all they had cooking, the stuff that’s moving forward and the stuff that has lost the wind in its sails or has hit a snag. That included everything from details on the studio’s Batman films — both the Dcu film “The Brave and the Bold” and updates on the non-canon “The Batman 2” from Matt Reeves — as well as a potential “Teen Titans” movie and the update...

At the end of January 2023, DC Studios gathered select members of the press and announced plans for a Dcu slate dubbed "Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters." Many fans pointed out the similarities to Warner Bros.'s ill-fated 11-movie Dceu slate reveal in 2014 and, unfortunately, some of these Dcu projects aren't moving along as well as hoped.
Talking to press, co-ceo Peter Safran said of The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker spin-off Waller, "We’ve taken a couple of cracks at it but still haven’t been able land. Waller has been a bumpy road."
The Authority, meanwhile, is "not the furthest along" according to James Gunn and, subsequently, "hasn't been made much [of] a priority." Safran explained, "It is a very big movie, if you’re going to do it properly. Some of the story elements perhaps that are in Superman and some of the other films we fast-tracked, step a little on the Authority.

In 1984, DC Comics hit a renaissance period, putting out titles that were really connecting with readers. There was even a well-known slogan from that era: “The New DC. There’s no stopping us now.”
Just over 40 years later, a case could be made that the same mantra is coursing through DC Studios, the Warner Bros. Discovery division focused on bringing the popular comics characters to screens big and small.
“We don’t want these characters to die out,” said DC Studios co-head James Gunn at a press event Friday. “We want to bring new stories and new life, we want to introduce these characters to new generations. And I think we are doing that, slowly but surely.”
DC Studios, which Gunn runs with Peter Safran, is just over two years old. And its big test will be this summer’s Superman, which Gunn wrote and directed as the division’s inagural fim.

Warning: Contains Potential Spoilers for Titans #19!The latest issue of Titans delivered an epic scene that firmly establishes Raven and Starfire as the ultimate BFFs of the DC Universe. What starts as a heartfelt moment between the two quickly evolves into a jaw-dropping display of dual badassery, perfectly showcasing their bond and synergy. After witnessing this incredible dynamic, I'm more excited than ever to see what DC has planned for this duo moving forward
While Raven may officially be the empath of the Titans, Starfire comes close to rivaling her in empathy.

Starfire is one of DC’s most iconic and beloved heroines, but beyond her role as a powerhouse member of the Teen Titans, she’s often relegated to being just a love interest. While I’m not entirely opposed to a well-done romance arc for the Tamaranean Princess, I’d much rather see her star in an A-tier solo series that explores themes beyond love first.
While this may be a divisive opinion, I believe Tom Taylor would be a fantastic choice to helm a Starfire solo series.
There’s no denying that Starfire is one of DC’s most badass female characters and a favorite among fans. Yet, it’s surprising that the comic publisher hasn’t put more effort into developing her character beyond being a member of the Titans or a love interest for characters like Nightwing and Arsenal.

Warning! This article contains Spoilers for DC's Creature Commandos.David Corenswet's Superman has already entered the DC Universe a few months before his movie releases in theaters, and the hero's first appearance could lead to the Justice League. I find James Gunn's Dcu plans exciting, with a healthy mix of major characters and more obscure players making up the first few projects in the franchise. This formula has also been a success for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so I'm interested to see how it pans out as the Dcu gets rolling. That said, I am surprised that no Justice League movie has been announced so far.
Inevitably, that is where many Dcu heroes must be headed, so it was interesting to see that no Justice League movie was part of the Dcu slate of projects revealed by DC Studios in January 2023. However, DC is making up for the team's...

DC Comics Is Shaking Up Starfire's Origins With One Teen Titans Writer Calling the Decision "Tricky"
DC writer Kami Garcia, the co-creator of the popular Teen Titans graphic novel series, describes dealing with Starfire's origin as "tricky." The whole premise of the popular YA graphic novel series by Garcia and Gabriel Picolo is to have the Titans just be normal teens, with the goal of making them as relatable as possible for the teen readers of the series.
In an interview with Liam McGuire of Comic Frontier, Garcia describes wanting to make all the Titans as much like "normal teens" as possible. Because of this, Starfire's alien origin is shaken up and spun out in a whole new way in the new book Teen Titans: Starfire by Garcia and Picolo. In this story, Starfire's origin is very different.
Garcia doesn't address Kori's alien nature in the book, and even her physical appearance is depicted by Picolo as more human-like, as Kori doesn't have her usual orange skin.

The new DC Universe has already started, and the franchise's first project makes my dreams of seeing Nightwing come to the universe closer to happening. I did not enjoy all Dceu movies, but the franchise did have a few exciting entries. Among my favorites were James Gunn's The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker. As such, I am looking forward to what Gunn can now do as not only the writer and director of projects, but also DC Studios' overall creative chief. All of the Dcu Chapter One projects look interesting, with major heroes and obscure characters as part of the lineup.
The first movie in the Dcu is going to be David Corenswet's Superman. I've wanted the actor to take over as the next Man of Steel ever since I watched Corenswet in Netflix's The Politician back in 2019. Before then, the Dcu has already started, thanks to Creature Commandos.

James Gunn’s long-anticipated Creature Commandos has landed, and it’s not just another superhero series. While last year's Hollywood strikes slowed things down a little, 2024 has seen DC Studios get off to a strong start. Both The Penguin and Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story have received rave reviews, but what of the first project set in the Dcu?

When the infamous Titans member, Tara Markov, was brought back to life, few fans were surprised, as characters die in comic books all the time, and it's rare that they actually stay dead. But what DC did with Terra next was a major subversion of the superhero clich that everyone was expecting.
The return of Tara "Terra" Markov was explained in the story "Who Is Tara Markov?" by Geoff Johns, Ben Raab, and Derec Aucoin from The Titans: Secret Files & Origins #2.
Tara was a former Teen Titans member who turned out to be a major antagonist. She revealed her evil nature in the pages of the infamous Judas Contract storyline by Marv Wolfman and George Prez. It's that time of year again when celebrities don all manner of impressive Halloween costumes. However, Megan Thee Stallion may have already won this spooky season with her jaw-dropping take on DC Comics' Starfire.
Donning a comic-accurate version of one of the character's more revealing outfits, she's sure to make a lot of fans very happy with this interpretation of the superhero (especially as we wouldn't bank on anything like this ever making it into theaters).
For those of you who haven't been keeping up, Megan is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter who put herself on the map with hits like "Hot Girl Summer," "Savage," and "Wap."
Her bold personality and advocacy for women's empowerment have made her a cultural icon, and she's won six BET Awards, five BET Hip Hop Awards, four American Music Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, a Billboard Women in Music Award, and three Grammy Awards.

Warning: Spoilers for Nightwing #118!Nightwing is definitely a son of Batman with his multiple love interests through the years. From Starfire to Batgirl, Dick Grayson has been a bit of a player and had some steamy romances. While there are certainly arguments from fans as to who Nightwing should finally end up with, Nightwing has finally revealed who is "endgame" for him, clearly and definitively stating who he hopes to marry one day.
After finally saving his city in the final chapter of Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo's run in Nightwing #118 by Taylor, Redondo, Caio Filipe, Adriano Lucas, and Wes Abbott, Dick Grayson visits the graves of his parents. While he's there, he reveals in a whisper to his parents that Barbara Gordon is the woman he hopes to marry one day.

Warning: Contains Spoilers for Nightwing #119Nightwings new creative team has completely pulled me in, and after just one issue, Im convinced this could be one of Dick Graysons greatest runs yet. Warning: Contains Potential Spoilers for Titans #15!
The Dawn of DC has undeniably become the era of the Titans. Not only have they replaced the Justice League, but they've now also defeated their greatest villainone even too powerful for Superman to handle. With the Nightwing-led team now at their peak, the question arises: Whats next for the Titans? Will they continue to rise, or are they destined to stagnate? We have the definitive answer.
Its clear that the Titans will also be among those joining this new iteration of the Justice League.
The Dark-Winged Queen storyline reaches its epic conclusion in Tom Taylor, Lucas Meyer, and Adriano Lucas' Titans #15. In this issue, fans witness Raven and the Titans face off against both her father, Trigon, and her dark counterpart, the Dark-Winged Queen. Alongside X-Men: The Animated Series and the shows within the DC Animated Universe, Teen Titans is often hailed as one of the greatest animated superhero shows of the '90s and 2000s. Featuring the most iconic members of the team from the comics and taking great inspiration from anime, the series stood out from its contemporaries with its unique style and its perfect balance of jokes with more serious storylines. Every season of the series is consistent with each other while also standing apart, with the core differences between them coming down to their central hero, their main antagonist, and the strength of their story arcs.
Full of action, comedy, and heart, Teen Titans spanned five spectacular seasons. These seasons see the Titans fighting major villains like Slade, Brother Blood, and Trigon, as well as memorable minor threats like Mad Mod, Control Freak, and Blackfire. While Titans and Teen Titans Go!

In last week's match-up of the Bam Smack Pow comic book tournament, I mentioned that popularity hasn’t always determined the winners. The genius bracket may have proven me wrong. However, who’s to say that my opinion is right or wrong? We’ve seen some victories from people who shouldn’t have won. So, maybe it isn’t all about who is more well-known. Take a look at last week's winners and decide for yourself.

Starfire has had her ups and downs in DC Comics. A beloved Teen Titans member, she has often been reinvented after continuity shifts and disparaged by her fans for this very reinvention. Though her character has quite a different - and childish - version in the Teen Titans cartoons, Starfire's comic character is always unflinchingly and powerfully herself, no matter what - even in a dark universe which redesigns Starfire in a way no fan could expect.
Starfire, as a founding member of the Titans, is an essential character in DC lore and has been since the 1980s. She's had more than a few redesigns over the years, but one of her most drastic looks is from the Dark Multiverse, as seen in Dark Nights: Death Metal - The Last 52: War of the Multiverses #1. In a story starring the Teen Titans, "Falling Through the Cracks" by Che Grayson, Pop Mhan,...

Teen Titans is primarily centered around the adventures of Robin, Starfire, Cyborg, Raven, and Beast Boy, but they're far from the only major characters in the series. Numerous other heroes and even more villains drive stories and receive development. Over the course of five seasons, an abundance of minor characters are also featured, some drawn from obscure DC lore, while others are entirely original.
With only thirteen episodes in each season, Teen Titans didn't have time to explore all the amazing characters it introduced. Fans would have loved to see more characters like Bumblebee, Speedy, and Red X and are largely in agreement that Blackfire should have been the main villain for an entire season centered around Starfire. Many of the Honorary Titans introduced in Season 5 were also criminally underserved and should have been explored for at least a single episode.
Bumblebee is the Leader of Titans East
Bumblebee is voiced by T'Keyah Keymah.

Warning: Spoilers for Nightwing #117 and Titans #14
Nightwing's conquest of his fear through exposure therapy is his superpower, making him a true superhuman. Nightwing has not only reached his physical peak but has also surpassed Batman by training his mind. Nightwing's split-mind tactic helps him outmatch Batman in controlling fear and mental strength, making him the true superhuman of DC.

Damian Wayne's observations of Nightwing and Batgirl's relationship hints at a tragic, dark future for the couple in The Boy Wonder series. The parallel between Dick Grayson's past at Haley's Circus and his present interactions with Batgirl suggests foreshadowing of a heartbreaking end. Despite the darker undertones, Nightwing and Batgirl's flawless coordination and their bond that mirrors Dick's relationship with his parents makes them a great couple.
Warning: Potential Spoilers for The Boy Wonder #1!DC writer Tom Taylor has frequently placed the relationship between Batgirl and Nightwing in the spotlight through numerous comics in his Nightwing run, earning him acclaim as the ultimate shipper for the duo within the fandom. However, a new writer/artist is now stepping up to the plate, reshaping this iconic romance with a subtle yet dark twist.
The fight scene involving Nightwing and Batgirl could potentially serve as foreshadowing for Batgirl's future demise in this series.

Quick Links Sunbracers Drop Location What Sunbracers Are Good For Recommended Sunbracer Build
Destiny 2s Sunbracers Exotic Warlock armor is one of the best equipment that Solar Warlocks can use during Lightfalls Season of Defiance (S20). Despite not being as strong as Void or Strand, Solar builds in Destiny 2: Lightfall are excellent choices for players who want to improve survivability with a decent amount of damage output. By using the Sunbracers Exotic Armor in Destiny 2, players can substantially increase their damage output to incredible levels due to the items effect.
Of course, this has to align with a proper build, with the appropriate Aspects, Fragments, and mods. Nonetheless, Destiny 2s Sunbracers build is an excellent alternative for Solar Warlocks who are uncomfortable running Starfire Protocol for practical purposes or cosmetic reasons. The Exotic gauntlets allow for increased Dps, and, luckily, they are straightforward to obtain in Bungies popular space shooter.

In an alternate DC timeline, Nightwing and Batgirl's daughter, Bryce Grayson represents the perfect tribute to their mutual mentor, Bruce Wayne. By naming Bryce after Bruce, Dick and Barbara acknowledged the most important figure in their lives, the man who forged them into the heroes they are today. The idea of Nightwing and Batgirl having a child together has been explored in different DC timelines; if and when it happens in the main continuity, DC should strongly consider giving them a daughter, and naming her Bryce.
Nightwing and Batgirl dont always end up together in every universe, but when they do, they've been shown to hunker down and start their own Bat-Family. In one dystopian universe, where it seemed like the villains had finally won, they named their daughter after their shared mentor, revealing that perhaps not all hope was lost. In fact, "Bryce" Grayson inspired them to take a big last stand.

If you are someone who was a young individual during the early 2000s, then you would’ve of course watched an episode of the iconic Teen Titans on Cn. And just like that, you would’ve seen your interest in the show rise as you gave a go to another episode week after week.
In fact, this show became such a popular hit with children and young teens that it is still extremely loved to this day.
A still from Teen Titans
Although some might remember this animated series fondly from their childhood memories, the readers of the comic book series would have a totally different thing to say, especially when the source material had a significant amount of adult topics in them.
This is when Glen Murakami made the decision to keep all of those themes away from the story of the show as much as possible, which led to its success.

Animator and showrunner Glen Murakami’s legendary show Teen Titans has been one of the most beloved animated DC shows. While many are fans of DC’s other classic animated offerings such as Batman: The Animated Series and Justice League, Murakami’s show had a different edge and tone that made it perfect for both children and adults.
Teen Titans brought the underrated comic to the forefront as characters such as Robin and Cyborg became much more than their usual sidekick personas. The show also gave more of an edge to Robin, bringing him out of Batman’s shadow. One decision that Glen Murakami took to make sure the series was better than other DC shows was to make it both kid and adult-friendly.

Trigon fears Donna Troy due to her unstoppable willpower. Donna Troy's life is in danger as Trigon manipulates Raven against her. Titans must save the world and Donna from Trigon's dangerous plans.
Out of everyone in the Titans, Raven's father, Trigon, fears one hero more than anyone else: the former Wonder Girl, Donna Troy. Trigon has been manipulating things behind the scenes, and he's not worried about any of the Titans getting in his way — except for Donna. Despite his power, Wonder Girl has one trait that makes her too much for the demon to handle.
In Titans #9 by Tom Taylor and Lucas Meyer, Trigon continues to control Raven for his own uses, making her into the Dark-Winged Queen: a possessed version of the normally heroic character. When controlling Raven, Trigon has no problems with bragging to her about how unstoppable he is. After all, he's already meddled with Dick Grayson...

With Teen Titans finally set to get the big screen treatment, it’s only right to assume that the upcoming film will take a page out of the 2003 show. Released during the peak of the Dcau on Cartoon Network, Teen Titans would eventually transcend the medium, becoming the best-animated show to ever hit the network.
And while fans will hope the upcoming live-action adaptation will take major inspiration from the show, its influences shouldn’t be limited to this adaptation alone. Considering the animation department is set to be a major driving force for the new universe, James Gunn and co. have the perfect template in Teen Titans to push the medium to new heights.
Dcu Should Take a Page Out of Teen Titans’ Production

Since its debut in 2003, Teen Titans has remained one of the best parts of the Dcau, which is saying a lot.
