When the woman comes in the butcher's shop while Marina is cutting veal chops, she says she will be hosting a dinner for twenty-four critics and art dealers and she needs veal chops to serve. Marina hands her the chops, but there's about only a dozen.
On the opening shot, a long sweeping fly past the lighthouse, you can see the reflection of the helicopter blades in the lighthouse windows.
The opening and closing scenes supposedly show Marina in her Ocracoke (NC) home, but the tall, diamond-patterned lighthouse actually stands at Cape Lookout, about 45 miles down the coast from Ocracoke. Ocracoke has its own, much-photographed lighthouse, a shorter, white tower.
The overhead aerial shot showing the taxi bringing Leo and Marina to the neighborhood shows the Empire State building off in the distance. However, this building is clearly reflected on several occasions in the window of the psychiatrist's office as if it's very close by. Also, several shots around this neighborhood during the movie shows buildings such as the Chrysler and Twin Towers if the WTC as also being close by. This is simply not possible owing to the topography of those areas.
At the beginning of the movie when Demi Moore's character is in the butchers shop, the scene has her walking behind the meat case and the distinct sound of her wearing shoes is heard in each step she takes despite her character not owning any shoes and is supposed to be barefoot. .
