Long before Star Wars: Skeleton Crew launched on Disney+, Nickelodeon brought audiences a now-forgotten sci-fi series in the '90s. Today, it is easy to take for granted sci-fi shows with high production values and popular intellectual properties attached as streaming platforms compete to attract subscribers with stories set in established universes. Yet, as viewers flock to shows like Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, Dune: Prophecy, and The Penguin, it is a reminder of how many incredible series are left behind, overshadowed by bigger names or fading from memory entirely. Nickelodeon's Space Cases had everything these new series offer, except the advantage of a recognizable legacy. Nearly 30 years later, Space Cases still feels like a "long strange trip" worth revisiting, a hidden gem in need of love before it disappears into the void forever.

Prolific writer Peter David is currently in rehab following a series of strokes and a mild heart attack, complicated by existing kidney problems.

His wife, Kathleen O’Shea David, updated the legendary creator’s GoFundMe, saying:

“Peter is still in rehab but that is week to week until the insurance decides that he is well enough to come home. The big hurdle is that he is a two-person assist right now. I have the door widening in the works so he can come home along with a couple of other things that will make his life easier...”

A prolific comics writer with defining runs on Incredible Hulk, X-Factor, and Amazing Spider-Man, David also wrote the Babylon 5 episodes ‘Soul Mates’ and ‘There All the Honor Lies’, and the Crusade episode ‘Ruling from the Tomb’.

Veteran actor David Schramm, who portrayed airline owner Roy Biggins on Wings for eight seasons, has died at the age of 73, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Schramm’s passing was announced Sunday by his publicist, Rick Miramontez, who said the actor died in New York. No additional details were given.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers remains one of the last glorious bastions of my childhood.
