Do you have a question for the Nightmare on Elm Street actor, who became the star of many actual nightmares? Let us know and we’ll put it to him
It’s hard to think of a horror movie character more iconic than Robert Englund’s Freddy Krueger. He stars in Wes Craven’s 1984 film A Nightmare on Elm Street and in sequels all the way up to (count ’em!) A Nightmare on Elm Street 6, Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare, and features in 44 episodes of the 80s TV series Freddy’s Nightmares. In 1994’s Wes Craven’s New Nightmare, Englund played a fictitious version of himself who is being stalked by his own character. He brought Freddy back one last time in 2003 for Freddy vs Jason, where Krueger and fellow horror icon Jason Voorhees (Ken Kirzinger) from Friday the 13th are both resurrected and sent to hell. Best place for them.

Yes, it’s Queen Night! Dancing With the Stars brought the rock and roll on Monday by honoring the legendary British rock band in the ballroom and the remaining nine couples really pulled out some jaw-dropping performances to the group’s iconic discography! After Kenya Moore and partner Brandon Armstrong “bit the dust” after last week’s Horror Night, the remaining couples faced the challenge of their first relay dance round, performing in groups of three couples each to earn bonus points to avoid elimination. Scroll down for all of the fun, and watch the night’s electrifying dances to Queen classics, such as “Somebody To Love,” “Another One Bites The Dust,” and “Killer Queen.” Amanda Kloots’ dance to “Don’t Stop Me Now” (Jive) In addition to being a former Broadway dancer and current co-host of The Talk, Amanda Kloots also leads her own fitness classes. I didn’t want to use a phrase this obvious in my recap of Monday’s Dancing With the Stars, but my willpower is nonexistent: It was Queen Night in the ABC ballroom… but which couple’s Season 30 run bit the dust? (I don’t like it, but I had no choice.)
With only nine couples left in the competition, Dancing honored the music of Freddie Mercury & Co. in Week 7, with every single male pro rocking a Mercury mustache, too. Hey, it is Movember, and I respect the commitment.

“Dancing with the Stars” has paid its dues, time after time, so now we have Queen Night. The remaining nine couples will perform to tunes by the iconic band and face off in relays on Monday.
After their show-stopping, perfect score-earning “Us”-themed routine last week, Iman Shumpert and Daniella Karagach will try to keep the momentum going with a paso doble to “Another One Bites the Dust.” The paso itself ought to fit him and Karagach will surely bring it with the choreography again.
The group relays feature three different styles — jive, foxtrot and Viennese waltz — and the couples will compete for bonus points from the judges. Of note, the three groups feature one with all male celebrities and one with all female celebrities. Sadly, “Bohemian Rhapsody” is not on deck.

The Halloween season typically sees Netflix add a lot of new horror content, which has recently been branded under the tagline “Netflix and Chills.” The streaming service will be boosting its library yet again this year with a large number of original movies and shows arriving in September and October, including several international titles to round out a solid collection of options for horror fans. What, then, can we expect from “Netflix and Chills” this year?
Particular highlights for viewers include the Netflix original film The Babysitter: Killer Queen, a sequel to 2017’s The Babysitter. This one features Judah Lewis’ Cole dealing with his enemies as he struggles to deal with the trauma of the first picture, and promises more of the horror and comedy mixture of its predecessor. Killer Queen appeared on the platform back on September 10th, and has already been doing pretty well with audiences.

While 2017's The Babysitter became a cult classic with horror fans, its sequel The Babysitter: Killer Queen has rightfully earned a spot with beloved teen horror favorites, like Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street. Judah Lewis stars as social outcast Cole who's still reeling from the events of The Babysitter, while Emily Alyn Lind plays his best friend/crush Melanie. Killer Queen follows what happens when Cole decides to forget the past and join Melanie at a lake for a party he'll never forget. When things finally start to go his way, the satanic cult resurfaces to finish the ritual they started all those years ago.
As Cole, Lewis isn't your typical "final girl" - primarily because he's a boy - making the title "final girl" seem far more suited for Lind's Melanie. However, about 30 minutes into the film - which is now streaming on Netflix -...

Netflix have been on a real hot streak lately when it comes to original movies, with action flicks Extraction and The Old Guard, thrilling superhero story Project Power, the awards worthy Da 5 Bloods and more. The latter months of the year, meanwhile, will see titles like Aaron Sorkin’s The Trial of the Chicago 7 and David Fincher’s Mank land on the service.
But this weekend, the streaming giant has brought us something a bit different from all of those with The Babysitter: Killer Queen, a sequel to the successful horror comedy from McG. Despite poor reviews, it’s been going down well with subscribers so far and is making waves online, with everyone buzzing about it.
Killer Queen is hardly the only new streaming/VOD release this weekend, though, with a whopping 10 new titles now available for you to watch from home. And after the break, we’ll run through them all.

Netflix have been on a phenomenal hot streak of original movies over the last few months with the streaming service’s output including bone-crunching action flicks Extraction and The Old Guard, high concept superhero story Project Power, awards season contender Da 5 Bloods and surprisingly popular crime flick Spenser Confidential. The latter months of the year, meanwhile, bring prestige dramas like Aaron Sorkin’s The Trial of the Chicago 7 and David Fincher’s Mank, but Netflix’s latest smash hit is unashamedly trashy entertainment.
McG surprised many people back in 2017 when he finally directed a good movie, with The Babysitter scoring widespread praise for being a massively enjoyable and self-aware spin on the slasher genre, as well as providing further evidence that star Samara Weaving is destined for much bigger and better things. Just when you thought it was safe to check out Netflix tonight, the streamer has dumped a sequel to its 2017 hit The Babysitter into its endless river of algorithm-calibrated goo. But while some critics apparently found the first movie charming–and appreciated the presence of rising horror-comedy star Samara Weaving (Ready or Not)–The Babysitter: Killer Queen fails on every level to make even a perfunctory case for a follow-up.
For one thing, Weaving is not the lead baddie this time around, even if most of the rest of the cast from the original encore here. Now you may ask how all the other slain cultist villains return. But a script that combines “no one’s ever really dead in horror” contrivances with some motivation-destroying retconning makes it easy. Too easy. But nothing about the story makes sense on any level, and it’s a wonder that it took returning...

Over the last 20 years, McG has directed nine movies in a variety of genres and spent over a billion dollars of studio money on production costs, and yet his entire career has been characterized by mediocrity. Admittedly, the man born Joseph McGinty Nicol has attempted to diversify his output in recent years, but the overwhelming majority of his work is standard genre fare that could be described as passable at best and dismal at worst.
In the two decades since he made his feature debut with Charlie’s Angels, only one of McG’s directorial efforts has managed to secure a Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and that was 2017’s Netflix horror comedy The Babysitter. The acclaim from audiences and critics alike would indicate that the filmmaker is much better off working with lower budgets and tackling different stories than the tedious action fare he’s usually associated with, and the...

Netflix have had a lot of very big original movies lately. From The Old Guard to Extraction and, of course, Project Power, the streaming site has been on a roll with their in-house content in recent months. But let’s not forget about The Babysitter, a 2017 horror comedy that proved to be quite successful for the company and also firmly cemented star Samara Weaving as an actress to keep an eye on – a status that she’s more than lived up to in the time since.
With strong direction from McG and a solid cast who all gave great performances, The Babysitter was without a doubt one of the genre’s better offerings in the year it released and has quite a lot of fans, many of whom have been hoping to see a sequel. Thankfully, their wish is about to come true.

The streaming war is an epic battle that will rage on for years to come, funded by some of the richest corporations on the planet and being fought solely from the comfort of couches around the world. With the competition only continuing to heat up and new platforms either debuting or being announced on an increasingly regular basis, eventually only those with enough disposable income will be able to experience the full range of over-the-top content on offer.
Having led the charge since the very beginning, it seems unlikely that anyone will be able to dislodge Netflix as the market leaders seeing as they currently have over 100 million more subscribers than their closest competitors at Amazon Prime. That being said, with Disney Plus boasting some of the biggest brands in the industry and making new Star Wars and Marvel Cinematic Universe shows a priority, along with HBO Max’s focus on their expanded DC universe,...

Tiff’s Midnight Madness program turned 25 this year, and for two and half decades, the hardworking programers have gathered some of the strangest, most terrifying, wild, intriguing and downright entertaining films from around the world. From dark comedies to Japanese gore-fests and indie horror gems, the Midnight Madness program hasn’t lost its edge as one the leading showcases of genre cinema. In its 25-year history, Midnight Madness has introduced adventurous late-night moviegoers to such cult faves as Richard Linklater’s Dazed and Confused and Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs. But what separates Midnight Madness from, say, Montreal’s three and half week long genre festival Fantasia, is that Tiff selects only ten films to make the cut. In other words, these programmers don’t mess around. Last week I decided that I would post reviews of my personal favourite films that screened in past years. And just like the Tiff programmers,...
