This is a strange film that I have actually never heard anything about in "real life" but was able to find a copy of online. Clearly a student flick this one, the home-made ethic is noticeable everywhere from shot selection, camera work and the acting itself. The plot is nothing out of the ordinary (though it was made BEFORE Blair Witch Project, the whole real-fake-documentary is an idea as old as film itself), and tends to step into the world of preaching rhetoric a few too many times for its own good.
Certain scenes and issues are dealt with amateurishly and with no tact whatsoever, (the gay kiss between the characters "Prozak" and "lieutenant Johnson" for example is exploitative and seems tacked on to me). But the issues are the entire raison d'etre of Earth On Fire: if you took away the environmentalism and gay rights content then the plot itself would look remarkably bare.
Definitely a student film this, probably only of interest to other film students who share a similar lifestyle.
