The first trailer for Freakier Friday has arrived. Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan star in the upcoming Disney movie, a sequel to their 2003 body swap comedy classic Freaky Friday.

Picking up more than 20 years after the events of Freaky Friday, the trailer for the upcoming sequel begins with Tess Coleman (Curtis) and her daughter Anna (Lohan) getting told by a fortune teller (played by SNL alum Vanessa Bayer) that their lifelines had previously crossed and may soon cross again, a reveal that does not please the mother and daughter duo. Big news has been revealed about From as the hit MGM+ series nears the end of its third season with very high marks from critics. The show, which holds a perfect score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes for Season 3, is going to be returning for a fourth season.

MGM+ has renewed From for Season 4. The reveal comes just days ahead of the Season 3 finale, which is due to drop on Nov. 24. With the renewal secured, the reported plan is for Season 4 to start filming in Nova Scotia in 2025 with a premiere on MGM+ set for sometime in 2026. From has been a hit out of the gate for MGM+. The sci-fi drama is the most viewed series in the history of the premium network, and has a 96 percent Rotten Tomatoes score.

By the end of season 3, our characters will begin to understand why they are trapped in From Town… but will understanding help them to escape? And if so, how?” said Pinkner.

Perrineau plays Boyd Stevens, the sheriff whose Draconian rules have held the fragile town together, even as he searches for a way to escape this seemingly inescapable nightmare.

“With the culmination of Season Three we have, in many ways, reached the end of the beginning. In Season Four, a new journey begins. The question is whether it will lead our characters home, or deeper into this unrelenting nightmare,” said Griffin. “We are so grateful to our partners at MGM+ to be able to continue this tale and beyond excited to share the news with our amazing FROMily.”

When asked about her future with the Halloween movies, Curtis said, Ive hung up my bell-bottoms and my pale blue button-down shirt, and I have relinquished (Laurie) to the ages with a warm aloha and a thanks for all the years and memories. Jamie Lee Curtis is opening up about her return as Tess Coleman in Freaky Friday 2. The actor recently teased the forthcoming sequel at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, as well as revealed how she played a part in getting the movie greenlit at Disney.

Speaking with Screen Rant to promote her new movie Borderlands, Curtis explained how being asked about a Freaky Friday reunion during press junkets for the Halloween reboot trilogy ultimately led to her calling up Disney CEO Bob Iger to pitch a sequel project. "The reason for Freaky Friday is because of stuff like this. During the Halloween press junkets all around the world, we would do Halloween questions and then every single interview, they'd go, 'So what's up with you and Lindsay? Are you going to get back?'" Curtis said. "Because of that real interest around the world, when I got back home, I called Bob Iger.

Disney has officially announced a fourth Zombies film.

Per TVLine, Disney has greenlit Zombies 4 with plans to start filming as early as March 2024 in New Zealand. The new installment is confirmed to be bringing back Meg Donnelly and Milo Manheim, who will reprise their respective franchise roles as the cheerleader Addison and her zombie boyfriend Zed. Candace Cameron Bure was the undisputed queen of Hallmark Channel’s slate of popular holiday fare, with more than 30 credits to her name. Who could forget her work as a high-strung doctor who moves to Alaska in “Christmas Under Wraps”? Ok, just because you haven’t heard of it, doesn’t mean it wasn’t a huge hit. The 2014 made-for-tv movie has the distinction of being the most watched Hallmark Christmas special ever, landing almost 6 million viewers on its debut airing. So, when Bure, 46, split with Hallmark to join rival upstart cable network Gac (now Great American Family) earlier this year, not even Santa himself could cheer up Hallmark.

Premiering on October 25, 1997, Under Wraps was the inaugural Disney Channel Original Movie. The cornerstone of the network’s programming proved to be as close to appointment viewing as it got for ‘90s kids, along with the likes of ABC’s Tgif and Nickelodeon’s Snick. Moreover, Under Wraps served as a gateway to horror for many millennials. Before the age of streaming, catching a mummy movie on the same channel where you watched Disney cartoons and Boy Meets World reruns could have been your first exposure to the macabre.

Disney attempted to recapture the magic with last year’s Under Wraps remake. The original movie was successful — and continues to hold up 25 years later — for several reasons; relatable kid leads, a great Halloween atmosphere, and a sense of humor chief among them. Director/co-writer Alex Zamm and co-writer William Robertson (Inspector Gadget 2) smartly maintained those elements for the new iteration.

This fall, Disney+ will host its third annual “Hallowstream” celebration, which will include fan-favorite Halloween movies on Disney+ like “Hocus Pocus,” “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” “Halloweentown,” “Muppets Haunted Mansion,” and “Zombies 3.” More creepy classics include “Twitches,” “Just Beyond” and “Frankenweenie.” Shocking shorts include “Growing Fangs,” “Zombies: Addison’s Moonstone Mystery,” “Trick or Treat” and “Toy Story of Terror!”

There are also eerie episodes of “WandaVision,” “Glee,” “Even Stevens,” “grown-ish,” “Kim Possible,” “Cars on the Road” and Marvel Studios’ “What If…?” to watch for shorter scary experiences. Disney Branded Television has promoted four key execs on its Original Movies team. Amee Dolleman and Charles Pugliese have been elevated to vice president, Original Movies, Disney Branded Television

and Mahita Penke and Jennifer Dubin have been upped to executive director, Original Movies, Disney Branded Television.

The Disney Branded Television team, led by Lauren Kisilevsky, SVP, Original Movies, has broadened its movie production slate over the past two years to reach kids, families, young adults and the young at heart.

The team just launched the third installment of the Zombies franchise, starring Milo Manheim and Meg Donnelly, on Disney+, along with other projects, including Out of My Mind, based on the best-selling novel by Sharon M. Draper from Big Beach, Participant and EveryWhere Studios LLC for Disney+; Descendants sequel The Pocketwach movie; and Prom Pact and Sneakerella, Spin and Secret Society of Second Born Royals. She reports to Kisilevsky.

Pugliese oversaw several movies for kids, teens and families, including Under Wraps, and is overseeing the upcoming titles Under Wraps 2, The Pocketwatch and Out of My Mind. He reports to Kisilevsky.

Dubin, who reports to Kisilevsky, most recently oversaw the Disney+ musical title Sneakerella and the upcoming Disney+ original movie The Naughty Nine.

Penke reports to Dolleman and Pugliese. She oversees several titles, including the Zombies and Descendants franchises, The Pocketwatch, Spin and the upcoming From the Desk of Zoe Washington.

This month Disney will be hosting Disney+ Day, which means the streamer’s list of new releases for September 2022 is more jam-packed than usual.

Keeping with tradition, however, the biggest release this month is of the Marvel of Star Wars variety, with Star Wars taking its turn after Marvel did with She-Hulk in August. Prequel series Andor is set to premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 21 with three episodes. Starring Diego Luga as the titular rogue, Andor will take place in the time before Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Disney has big plans for this property, with an uncommonly large 12-episode order set to run throughout the fall.

A sequel to 2021’s Under Wraps, which itself was a remake of the first-ever Disney Channel Original Movie from 1997, is set to premiere on Sunday, Sept. 25, TVLine has learned exclusively.

“Pepper Ann” is coming to Disney Plus on Sept. 8.

The first three seasons of the fan-favorite ’90s animated series will be available to stream next month, with the release of Seasons 4 and 5 still unclear.

Created by Sue Rose, “Pepper Ann” follows the adventures of its titular redhead character and her friends and family. Known for its witty parodies and infectious theme song, the series tackled topics including body issues, school work and being raised in a divorced, single-parent household.

Kathleen Wilhoite is the voice of Pepper Ann, starring alongside Clea Lewis, Danny Cooksey, Pamella Segall, April Winchell, Cree Summer, Candi Milo, Don Adams, Kath Soucie, Tino Insana, Jeff Bennett and Jim Cummings. On August 12, Disney released a minute-long trailer showing off what the new version of the film will look like. The new Under Wraps will star Christian J. Premiering in October, Under Wraps is a remake of the first-ever Dcom, which debuted in 1997. Like the original film, this new version focuses on a group of 12-year-old friends who accidentally revive a mummy they discover in their neighbor’s basement several days before Halloween, and TVLine has an exclusive first look at the trailer.

Disney Channel is set to remake it’s first original movie “Under Wraps” with a new cast, the network announced Friday.

The new project is described as a “contemporary comedic remake” of the original 1997 Halloween movie featuring new cast members Christian J. Simon, Malachi Barton, Sophia Hammons and Phil Wright. It is slate for a 2021 premiere on Disney Channel.

The movie follows three friends, Gilbert (Simon), Marshall (Barton) and Amy (Hammons), who happen upon and awaken a mummy, which they affectionately name Harold (Wright), and must rush to return him to his resting place before midnight on Halloween. Along the way, the team narrowly escapes a nefarious group of criminals intent on selling the mummy to the highest bidder. When Harold is inevitably captured, Marshall, Gilbert and Amy must band together to stand up to the criminals, face their fears and rescue their new–but rather “ancient”–friend.

Today’s Top 10 most-watched movies list on Netflix is filled with a handful of interesting films, such as the new Christmas rom-com Holidate, which is currently sitting at #1. There are quite a few other seasonal pics hanging out on there, too, like Christmas to Order, Christmas Under Wraps, and My Christmas Inn. So, it’s clear that subscribers are already diving headfirst into the holidays.

Of course, it’s no secret that when Netflix added their Top 10 system earlier this year, it made it much easier for folks to keep an eye on what was popular on the service around the world. Most surprisingly, however, is just how often overlooked or forgotten films tend to pop up in the rankings and find a whole new audience.

One such pic that stands out on the Top 10 most-watched movies list today is an often forgotten Chris Evans effort that you may want to give a look.

Post-Ghostbusters but pre-Julie and the Phantoms, Disney Channel was busy dishing out tricks and treats with Halloween movies like Under Wraps, Halloweentown, and Mom's Got a Date With a Vampire. But, almost 20 years since its release date, one movie I can't shake from the back of my mind is The Scream Team, mainly because the plot is surprisingly terrifying. I used to have nightmares about this movie every October as a kid, so it only felt natural that I should check it out again as an adult, and let me tell ya, those nightmares were 100 percent justified.

Zachariah Kull, the villain of the film, was an inventor in the 1800s who burned down his cabin with his wife still inside. While it's later proven that the fire was an accident sparked by a faulty invention he created using natural gas, Zachariah is seen as a criminal for centuries because of town lore.

Disney+ is getting into the Halloween movie business. It has been revealed that the streaming service is making a new original movie titled Spooked. This will be an original production specifically for Disney+ that is described as a "supernatural comedy." For the time being, many details are being kept under wraps but this could serve as a hefty dose of nostalgia for those who grew up watching Halloween movies on the Disney Channel.

According to a new report, Disney has set Peter Foott to direct Spooked. Foott will also re-write the screenplay. The first draft was penned by Tyler Burton Smith, who previously wrote 2019's Child's Play remake. Smith is also behind the upcoming Kung Fury 2.
