Directed by Dani Girdwood and Charlotte Fassler, Prime Video’s romantic thriller film, My Fault: London is the remake of the Spanish drama, Culpa Mía, which is based on the novel series. The idea of the romantic drama germinated as a Wattpad story. With complicated characters populating the tight plot, My Fault: London is expected to grab enough attention over 2025 Valentine’s week.
Asha Banks as Noah
Young, impulsive, and unpredictable—these three words accurately capture Noah’s energy in My Fault: London. Noah’s character is brought to life by the 21-year-old English actress, Asha Alice Banks. After a successful tryst with the English stage since her early childhood, Asha’s foray into films occurred with the German musical film The Magic Flute, directed by Florian Sigl. Banks is also a known face on television among the English audience, with her brief appearances in EastEnders and Call the Midwife.

Exclusive: Bill Kaulitz has swapped the concert stage for the big screen by landing his first film role.

In the film, Leather Kobra, a Sunset Strip-style glam metal band films a music video in an abandoned Western town in the middle of nowhere. (Welcome to Tales from the Box Office, our column that examines box office miracles, disasters, and everything in between, as well as what we can learn from them.)
Horror movies may not often get a whole lot of respect, critically speaking. For whatever reason, they are often treated as a lesser form of entertainment. It's only the rarest of rare genre offerings that can go on to become embraced both critically and commercially, with Jordan Peele's "Get Out" serving as a shining example from relatively recent times. That's an outlier though. One undeniable truth though is that these movies are a reliable backbone for Hollywood studios, delivering consistent profits against relatively low investments. Good movies, bad movies, it often doesn't matter.
Hardcore horror fans will tell you that the number of bad movies far outweighs the good in any given year. It's about searching for that diamond in the rough.

Bob Clark made a name for himself in the early 1970s with a trio of low-budget horror films that soon attained cult status: Children Shouldn’t Play with Dead Things, the rough-hewn tale of a group of actors contending with zombies on an abandoned island; Deathdream, a scathing Vietnam-era twist on “The Monkey’s Paw”; and Black Christmas, a blackly humorous proto-slasher flick. Enticed by a larger, though still modest, budget and a sterling cast of British and Canadian actors, Clark relocated to England to produce and direct Murder by Decree, an alternate-history period piece dripping with atmosphere that puts Sherlock Holmes (Christopher Plummer) and Dr. Watson (James Mason) on the trail of the notorious serial killer known as Jack the Ripper.

Since the rise of the MCU, comic book properties have become the dominant box office force in Hollywood, from Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy to Avengers: Endgame. While audiences typically associate comics with superheroes and science fiction, the medium has actually covered a range of genres, from comedy and horror to war. One of the most successful types of comic book when it comes to movie adaptations is the crime genre.
Crime comics can come in a variety of styles, sub-genres and themes, from emotional revenge stories to gangster movies. The comic book medium continues to prove its versatility on the big screen, with some of the best crime films ever made originating in comics. With powerful casts, moving stories and ruthless villains, these films are all worth a watch for audiences who enjoy a good crime caper.

2024 saw DC Comics yet again trot out "Watchmen," this time as a two-part animated film. First debuting in 1986, "Watchmen" is the beloved superhero murder mystery comic created by writer Alan Moore (who infamously has no interest in any "Watchmen" adaptations) and artist Dave Gibbons. It's also the one superhero comic that it's broadly acceptable for literary critics to enjoy -- so much so it spawned a new term for the comic medium: "graphic novel."
The term goes back a bit further, such as the Marvel Graphic Novel line (begun in 1982). These longer (and more expensive) than usual comic issues told a standalone story. They also tended to be darker than contemporary Marvel comics. Take the "X2" inspiration "X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills" (by Chris Claremont and Brent Anderson) where the X-Men battled a televangelist and religious bigotry, and "The Death of Captain Marvel" (by Jim Starlin), where the cosmic hero succumbed to cancer.

A fantasy novel by Alan Moore is getting a television adaptation. An influential author, known for his seminal comic book work, Moore is behind titles such as Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Batman: The Killing Joke, From Hell, and Swamp Thing. However, he has a reputation for holding oppositional views of adaptations, including his own, and has argued that he aims to illuminate what comic books are capable of as a storytelling medium rather than translating it into a different format. But he is significantly more positive about an adaptation that's just been announced.
Deadline confirms that The Great When, a new fantasy novel by Moore, is getting a TV adaptation. The production company Playground landed the rights to The Great When, a fantasy graphic novel that was published by Bloomsbury on October 1. It's the first in Moore’s planned five-volume Long London series of epic fantasy novels, which Playground plans...

Exclusive: “For the first time in my career, I’m genuinely excited and enthusiastic about a work of mine…one that I own, and believe could work marvelously in a different medium…being adapted for the screen,” Watchmen author Alan Moore says in a rare quote about his new fantasy novel, The Great When, getting a TV adaptation. In a competitive bidding situation, Colin Callender’s production company Playground has landed the rights to the book by the famous graphic novelist, which was published Oct. 1 by Bloomsbury. The Great When is the first in Moore’s planned five-volume Long London series of epic fantasy novels that Playground plans to adapt into a tentpole, multi-season event series.

Published by Dark Horse Comics and heading to comic book shops on January 22nd is Ripperland, from writers Steve Orlando and John Harris, who joined us for our latest Q&a. From initial concept to working with Alessandro Oliveri, we discuss everything about the making of this new series, which they describe as "From Hell meets Westworld."
How did your collaboration on Ripperland come about, and what was the inspiration for the series?
Steve Orlando: It all started with coffee on the high line, at New York Comic Con some years back! John had already put out some kick ass books in the UK, and wondered what we might write together for an American publisher. I challenged John with a few parameters for what I thought might catch on, and before I knew it, we were developing Ripperland. We...

Since the success of Richard Donner's Superman, Hollywood has increasingly turned to comic books for entertainment, climaxing with the rise of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While these movies typically focus on action, science fiction, and fantasy, there are plenty of great horror movies based on anything from superheroes to monsters. That said, a movie doesn't need to be horror to be scary, and many comic adaptations have looked to themes of dystopia and mystery to be scary.
Although not every great comic book movie is necessarily faithful to its source material, talented directors from all backgrounds have shown they can make a good story work. Writers and directors can play on a variety of fears, both grounded and fantastical, from creatures of the night to crime and fascism. While not every movie that strives to be scary succeeds, some are a masterclass in terror.

Even if you’re not a Halloween person, October means spooky season. It feels like every brand, store, — and yes, every streamer, finds ways to incorporate themes of haunting and horror. Disney+ started early, with the September premiere of “Agatha All Along,” which will air new episodes for the next several weeks. In October, the streamer will debut “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place,” an expansion of the popular Disney Channel series “Wizards of Waverly Place” which aired from 2007 to 2012.
And of course Hulu has “Huluween,” a celebration of the scariest titles either premiering on the streamer for the first time or simply highlighted from its existing library. That includes films like “Late Night with the Devil,” the series “Reginald the Vampire,” FX’s “American Horror Stories”, a Halloween specials from “Family Guy” and “Solar Opposites,” a docuseries on witch hunting, and much more.

It’s not often I’d be talking about Agatha Christie, Renny Harlin, Val Kimer and LL Cool J in the same breath, but thanks to the world of Tinseltown magic, here we are! And, before you’re mis-led into thinking this video is about the great Netflix show of the same name, let me just set the record straight. This ain’t that one folks. Nope, the movie we’re focusing on today somehow manages to blend the classic British literary world of Agatha Christie with LL Cool J spitting out lines like. That’s right gore-hounds, twenty years ago director Renny Harlin was best known for action classics, pirate movies, dangling Sylvester Stallone from great heights and giant sharks; way before the likes of The Meg and more recently, Under Paris. Then, an intriguing project came his way that would blend the worlds of Agatha Christie and gangster rappers,...

Before rewatching Mirrors (get it Here), I was a little confused as to why it’s either forgotten or, honestly, kind of hated on. It was one of those movies that I saw in theaters when it came out and then have clear memories of when it came to my Blockbuster for rent. It’s got a fun cast of reliables and was directed by one of the early 2000s freshest and goriest directors. The director has gone on to have a steady and varied career and his new movie starring Halle Berry called Never Let Go sounds as intriguing as ever. After watching Mirrors again, I still really enjoyed it, but I now understand why it has the reputation it has and why it’s perfect for a black sheep. Let’s take a look but maybe be wary of any mirrors that don’t look exactly right.

Fans of Unsolved Mysteries are divided on the Netflix revival, particularly the focus on Jack the Ripper's case, which lacks interviews with key players. Viewers wanted more current mysteries explored, like the disappearances of Brian Shaffer and Maura Murray, which offer potential for resolution. The latest season has sparked debate over the value of rehashing old cases versus highlighting cases with a chance of being solved.
Since being resurrected by Netflix, Unsolved Mysteries has gained more fans who are obsessed with true crime and unsolved cases. It's the DNA that made the original show with host Robert Stack such a hit because its viewers would, in equal parts, frighten themselves and think they could help solve one of the mysteries at the center of each episode. The new two-part animated Watchmen adaptation can offer a more faithful retelling from the comic than Zack Snyder's film. The movies can include content from the comics cut from the theatrical version, like the Black Freighter cutaways. DC's filmmakers have the opportunity to rectify missing components from Snyder's movie and deliver a more accurate adaptation.
Watchmen is receiving a new adaptation from DC as a two-part animated movie. Warner Bros. recently shared the first look at the new Watchmen movies, which promise to delve into Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' graphic novel in a way that has not yet been possible. With a rich legacy of un-filmable comic book adaptations behind it, DC animation has the opportunity to pull from the existing Watchmen adaptations while creating something new and true to the spirit of the original graphic novel.

When it comes to making movies for himself, no one does it better than Rob Zombie. Love his films or not, there is a recognition to be had about his style. With his trademark blend of horror, dark humor, and trashy dialogue, Zombie creates a repulsive and fascinating world. After bursting out the music scene with White Zombie and eventually having a very successful solo career, Zombie ventured out and put his money where his mouth was by making his first feature film. House of 1000 Corpses first introduced the world to the Firefly clan and continued a couple of years later with the grittier and character-driven The Devil’s Rejects. While that film ends rather violently, fans have wondered if he would ever return to that world. But that would be impossible right? Fourteen years later, Rob Zombie finally showed us how the Firefly family could return after a pretty solidifying end.

Often they're violent and bombastic, but also understated in their depth, Britain has a penchant for making enticing films in the crime genre. From the snappy and rhythmic narrative style of Guy Ritchie with his intricate narrative webs of colorful characters, to smaller stories of one senior against the criminals infecting the public housing system, the variety is endless.
British crime films not only set themselves in the present either, but sometimes the perspectives of law enforcement or unlikely detectives come into play. Stories of identical twin gangsters that are stranger than fiction and new drugs that are an insane caper to chase down just scratch the surface the the kind of fun this niche genre provides. Which ones hit hard? Which is a great laugh juxtaposed with squirm-worthy violence?

Having grown up in a religious family, Christian movie night was something that happened a lot more often than I care to admit. However, back when I was a teenager, my parents showed up one night with an unusually cool-looking DVD of a movie that had been recommended to them by a church leader. Curious to see what new kind of evangelical propaganda my parents had rented this time, I proceeded to watch the film with them expecting a heavy-handed snoozefest.
To my surprise, I was a few minutes in when Denzel Washington proceeded to dismember a band of cannibal raiders when I realized that this was in fact a real movie. My mom was horrified by the flick’s extreme violence and dark subject matter, but I instantly became a fan of the Hughes Brothers’ faith-based 2010 thriller, The Book of Eli. The Alien Report: "The Alien Report follows "The Abductee" (Braxton Hale), an everyday American who finds himself hijacked by extraterrestrial beings and taken on a terrifying journey of self-preservation, running afoul of classic "grey aliens", disturbing human-et hybrids, and the U.S. government's shady Men in Black. Based on countless documented reports made by self-proclaimed abductees, The Alien Report is a meticulous, straight-faced look at what an real-life alien abduction would be like, from the perspective of first-person cameras.
The Alien Report has screened at festivals worldwide, winning awards in the U.S., UK, Australia, and Brazil. Shot on iPhone and GoPro cameras as a non-traditional narrative composed of re-assembled found footage, the picture plays out as both a sci-fi thriller and first-person documentary. It is the intended first chapter in a trilogy of films about extraterrestrial abductions.
The Alien Report was directed by Patrick Donnelly and produced by Kevin Schroeder and Michael Sell.

Screambox goes to war with Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies on April 12. Indie horror staple Bill Oberst Jr. (3 From Hell) stars as the President who emancipated the slaves, saved the Union, and slaughtered the undead.

While the Marvel Universe continues to chug along and James Gunn attempts to resuscitate the DC universe into something worth watching, we will yet again go back to the world of graphic novels for our inspiration on book vs movie. It’s really a very untapped realm as there are so many good horror comics out there, many without adaptations yet. The ones that have been adapted are very fun and interesting. Today is the mostly forgotten early 2000s movie From Hell (watch it Here), which is based on the stunning and epic graphic novel from famed wizard and all-around cranky dude Alan Moore. Like many graphic novels, the journey to page and then screen was a long and arduous one. It is based on the very real killings in Whitechapel that were later attributed to Jack the Ripper. While both have a lot of truths to them along with...

Exclusive. When the alternative book of film trivia is written, a page will be dedicated to the influence of Leonard Nimoy’s paranormal-themed late-’70s TV show In Search of… on director siblings. It was here that Albert and Allen Hughes first heard about Britain’s most notorious serial killer, Jack the Ripper, beginning an obsession with Victorian London that resulted in their 2001 horror-drama From Hell. And for David and Nathan Zellner, the cultural impact was very similar.
“We loved that show,” recalls David. “As kids, there wasn’t much out there, that we were exposed to, that covered those sorts of things. They’d cover the Loch Ness monster, everything. I remember one about plants, wondering if they were able to think and what kind of music they’d like to listen to. They got really obscure with some of the subjects, but we loved that show. We loved the vibe of it.

Albert Hughes reveals the struggles faced during the production of the live-action Akira movie, including the studio's fear and hesitation to make the film. When Warner Brothers offered him any project after the success of The Book of Eli, Hughes chose Akira, but felt that the studio wasn't truly ready to make it. Hughes emphasized the importance of staying true to the original source material and believed that the IP of Akira was more significant than any individual actor.
Albert Hughes has spoken about the live-action Akira movie's production struggles. Throughout Vegeta’s career, he’s been in no shortage of outstandingly epic battles–from fighting intergalactic emperors to cosmically powerful bounty hunters–but there is one fight that stands above the rest as being the absolute greatest grudge match in Dragon Ball history–at least, it could have been, if fans weren’t totally robbed of it in Dragon Ball Gt.
When Vegeta was introduced in Dragon Ball Z, he was presented as a hardened villain who would destroy entire planets on a whim, concoct treacherous plots against his superiors, and even kill his closest allies like it was nothing. In terms of that last point, Vegeta brutally killed Nappa–a Saiyan who had been by Vegeta’s side since he was a child–after Nappa was defeated by Goku in battle. Hayride to Hell is a horror movie led by Bill Moseley and Kane Hodder, following a farmer seeking revenge on corrupt locals. The film was shot at an actual family farm and profits will support the farm's preservation. Moseley and Hodder are well-known in the horror genre, with notable roles in iconic films and upcoming projects.
Farmer Sam is doing everything in his power to save the family farm. While that may not sound like the premise for a horror move, that's exactly what Hayride to Hell is. Lead by horror legends Bill Moseley (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre II) and Kane Hodder (Jason Voorhees in multiple Friday the 13th franchise projects), the film follows the story of a farmer who refuses to sell the farm that has been in his family for two centuries. As the trailer teases, Farmer Sam has a plan, and he won't go out without a fight.

Known as the most critically acclaimed, cerebral writer in the history of comics, Alan Moore is not content to rest on his laurels, entering the prose arena in earnest with new short story collection Illuminations, and the gigantic tome Jerusalem - an epic exploration of his hometown of Northampton, England. Illuminations made headlines, particularly for its mockumentary-style story, 'What We Can Know About Thunderman' - a vivid takedown of the comic industry. However, Moore's criticisms go far beyond the realm of superheroes. Indeed, they appear to span the whole breadth of contemporary fiction.
In this wide-ranging conversation with Screen Rant, the Watchmen and V for Vendetta creator talks about the rise of superhero culture, his many colorful characters from works such as From Hell, Jerusalem, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Voice of the Fire, and what he sees as a decline in popular storytelling.
