In the not-publicly-released trailer for the pilot Doug Ellin hopes to sell, Kevin Connolly pursues an entertainment industry hustle alongside Kevin Dillon. At first glance, it looks like a reboot of Entourage, Ellin’s early-2000s show about a rising actor and his team that starred Connolly, Dillon and others. Then halfway through the trailer, Charlie Sheen shows up.
Connolly, playing a version of himself, needs a hit for his podcast studio. So he approaches Sheen, who is also playing a version of himself. “This could be an amazing opportunity for both of us,” fake Connolly tells fake Sheen. “It could be your get-out-of-jail-free card.”
Ellin has described this project, Ramble On, as being about second acts and redemption. Perhaps those themes are on Ellin’s mind 20 years after Entourage premiered on HBO. He has attempted other projects since then. But that was before the renewed attention Entourage seems to be getting,...

Judy Greer has appeared in over a hundred movies and TV shows since she began her Hollywood career in 1997. One of her earliest roles was in the 1998 romcom, Kissing A Fool, starring David Schwimmer, Jason Lee, and Mili Avital. The Universal Pictures movie was a complete flop, but Greer would continue her career working as a co-star in comedies and romcoms during the 1990s and 2000s. In the 2000s, she branched out and began work in more serious roles, such as the psychological thriller, I Love Your Work, and the 2002 Japanese fantasy movie, The Cat Returns.

Earlier today, we reported the unfortunate news that pop music icon George Michael had passed away at the age of 53, after suffering from a heart failure. As fans begin the grieving process, we have compiled a number of statements and tributes that have been sent out through social media over the past 24 hours, since the musician's untimely passing was announced.

He’s best-known as the lovable, science-nerd character Ross from “Friends,” but it turns out David Schwimmer know his way around a microphone as well.
The “Kissing a Fool” actor paid a visit to “The Late Late Show with James Corden” last night (May 26) and wound up in a fierce face-off with the handsome host in Drop The Mic.
Corden began, "Millennials, let me introduce you to this guy. His name is David – he was famous in '95. He was a Kardashian on TV, but that was only for pretend. You played Robert, and that was a great combo. But you were so white, you shoulda probably played the Bronco. Now it's time for you to prove you've got balls while I ignore you like Jennifer Anistondoes your calls."
But David came back with a vengeance- "Rap was born in this country, you're a tourist here. Do us a favor,...

Last year Billy Bob Thornton said he was waiting for the Bad Santa 2 script, and the latest word on the sequel is that the script still isn't done, but filming may start this fall. Director Doug Ellin (Entourage, Kissing A Fool) joined the development hell project back in 2013, and while speaking with Collider, said if they can get the script right, he's supposed to begin production in September or October. Thornton is still attached to reprise his Willie role, and Doug...

You know when you’ve been playing tennis for ages and someone comes along and tightens your strings, so the ball pings around like it’s meant to? Or you finally refill that lukewarm water bottle you’ve been carrying around with from a piping hot kettle, and you realise what you’ve been missing?
George Michael has had his strings tightened
That’s how it felt watching George Michael return to the stage on Sunday evening for his first full-length UK concert since falling unwell with a near-fatal bout of pneumonia last year.
I saw George in action last year at the Royal Albert Hall, and was convinced something wasn’t quite right. The voice wasn’t just being preserved, it was being taxidermised as he struggled through the evening. Sure enough, the next day brought a press release announcing the onset of a bad chest, an infection that...

I’m not sure how many shopping days till Christmas, but there are only nine days remaining before American Idol‘s season 10 champ inherits Lee DeWyze’s sash and crown. In the interim, though, we’ve got Top 3 Week, during which Haley Reinhart, Lauren Alaina, and Scotty McCreery will tackle a trio of songs: one selected by the judges, one selected by in-house mentor Jimmy Iovine, and one individual choice. According to media reports from the Idol contestants’ hometown visits, the judges chose Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughta Know” for Haley, Lee Ann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance” for Lauren,...

Back when Mallrats was released, I swore I knew Jason Lee from somewhere. I think it was several months before I was alerted to the fact that he was a professional skateboarder, and in case that wasn’t it, I might have seen him in a music video. I didn’t have my finger on the pulse back then.
I didn’t get much out of Mallrats, but I had oddly high hopes for Lee. It took a bit for him to get going, but then nice turns in Kissing a Fool, Mumford, and Almost Famous gave me a certain sense of satisfaction. Then, for several years, I started to get rather irritated by him. All I could think was that he has better work in him, but all I kept getting was Dreamcatcher, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and Jersey Girl.
You might think I’m building you...

When informed people (like those over at Collider, who brought this to our attention) think Platinum Dunes, they recall the production company owned by Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form. When I think Platinum Dunes, I imagine that Kanye West “Dancing in the Desert” music video.
But I digress.
Platinum Dunes has signed a first-look deal with Paramount, starting with their next film, The Butcherhouse Chronicles. A first-look deal, for those who don’t know, is (very briefly) an agreement in which a Party A (Paramount) has the right to pick up a project before Party B (Dunes) can offer it to anyone else.
The Butcherhouse Chronicles is a thriller that follows teenagers into an allegedly haunted house. Collider tells us the producers are calling it “The Breakfast Club in a haunted house” - although I swear that’s been the catchy pitch for 20 other movies in the last decade.
