Geoffrey Deuel, the younger brother of tragic Alias Smith and Jones actor Peter Duel who portrayed the famed outlaw Billy the Kid in the John Wayne-starring Chisum, has died. He was 81.

Deuel died Sunday in hospice care in Largo, Florida, after a battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, his wife, Jacqueline Deuel, told The Hollywood Reporter.

The square-jawed Deuel appeared on many TV shows from the mid-1960s through the mid-’70s, showing up on The Monkees, The Invaders, The FBI, The Flying Nun, Medical Center, Mannix, Adam-12, The Mod Squad, Mission: Impossible, The Streets of San Francisco, Ironside, Cannon and The Young and the Restless, among others.

In his film debut, Deuel was “introduced” to moviegoers in the opening credits of Andrew V. McLaglen’s Chisum (1970), and a reviewer in The New York Times wrote that he “cut a personable swath” as a particularly vengeful Billy the Kid.

According to USA Today, publicist Rachel Harris announced that the actor passed at Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center. Cole’s representative said he died “peacefully this morning, surrounded by loved ones, after living a full and vibrant life.”

“Beyond his career, Michael Cole will be remembered for his warm and generous spirit,” a statement provided by Harris read. “Known among friends and family for his wit, charm, and boundless compassion, he brought joy to every room he entered.

“A storyteller at heart, he had a way of making those around him feel special, often regaling them with anecdotes from his Hollywood days or sharing wisdom from his remarkable journey.”

Michael Cole, who most famously starred in “The Mod Squad,” died Tuesday at age 84, TheWrap has learned.

In a statement to media, representatives for Cole said the actor died “peacefully this morning, surrounded by loved ones, after living a full and vibrant life.”

Cole played Pete Cochran, one of the three young cops on “The Mod Squad.” Cole starred alongside Clarence Williams III and Peggy Lipton as one of the three delinquents-turned-undercover cops. The show ran from 1968 to 1973 and was heralded for tackling the contemporary issues of the time like illegal drugs, racism, police brutality and the Vietnam War.

He also appeared on 64 episodes of “General Hospital” and in shows like “Murder, She Wrote,” “Fantasy Island,” “The Love Boat” and as Henry Bowers in the 1990 miniseries adaptation of Stephen King’s “It.”

Roles later in his career included episodes of “7th Heaven” and “ER,” as well as movies like “Nickel Mountain” and “Mr. Brooks.

Auerbach represented a wide range of talent during his 47 years with William Morris, including Alan Alda, Bea Arthur, Marlo Thomas, Robert Wagner, Aaron Spelling, Sammy Davis Jr., Aretha Franklin, Sam Cooke, Harry Belafonte and such prestige-movie directors as Norman Jewison and Bernardo Bertolucci. John Lasell, a character actor known for his television portrayals in Perry Mason (1957), The Twilight Zone (1959) and Dark Shadows (1966), has died in Los Angeles at the age of 95.

The news was confirmed by an obituary notice, which listed the death date as Oct. 4.

His last screen credit dates back to 1985, with the Emmy-nominated TV miniseries A Death in California, opposite Cheryl Ladd and Sam Elliott. He appeared in a handful of episodes in the aforementioned television classic Perry Mason (three in total), as well as one guest spot on The Twilight Zone. His most regular appearance was on the gothic soap opera Dark Shadows, where he portrayed vampire hunter Dr. Peter Guthrie across 25 episodes.

Oscar-winning actor Louis Gossett Jr. died of a lung condition, according to his death certificate obtained by TMZ. The actor died in Santa Monica on March 29 at the age of 87.

According to the report, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (Copd), was the main cause of death, TMZ says, with heart failure and atrial fibrillation contributing factors.

A cause of death was not known at the time of Gossett’s passing last month.

His family announced the death in a statement on March 29: “It is with our heartfelt regret to confirm our beloved father passed away this morning.” It continued, “We would like to thank everyone for their condolences at this time. Please respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time.”

Per Fox News, Rush's death was announced by her daughter, Fox News Channel senior correspondent Claudia Cowan. The passing of the legendary performer follows a career that spanned seven decades in show business, with many memorable roles on the big and small screens. Rush was 97 years old.

"My wonderful mother passed away peacefully at 5:28 this evening. I was with her this morning and know she was waiting for me to return home safely to transition," Cowan said of her mother's death. Peter S. Fischer, the late-blooming TV writer and producer who co-created Murder, She Wrote after serving on such other crime-solving series as Columbo, Baretta and Ellery Queen, has died. He was 88.

Fischer died Monday at a care facility in Pacific Grove, California, his grandson Jake McElrath announced.

He became a prolific novelist after he exited Hollywood, writing murder mysteries, of course.

On Friday, the actor’s wife, Evelyn Pezzluich, said Goddard died on Tuesday after he was hospitalized with pneumonia. The post from Pezzluich was shared in a Facebook status by an account named “Lost In Space Remastered Blu-ray Disc Edition.”

Max’s 2023 October lineup of series includes new seasons of Our Flag Means Death, The Gilded Age, and 30 Coins, as well as the second half of Doom Patrol season four (the final season). Screenwriter Scott Silver, known for Joker, The Fighter, 8 Mile and The Finest Hours, has bought a mid-century modern house owned by socialite and philanthropist Jamie Tisch for $4.99 million.

The sale comes months after the home hit the market in March for initially $7 million and about 2.5 years after Tisch initially acquired the .25-acre property. The two-story house built and designed by William Porush and Richard Kearney in 1962 sits in the Hollywood Hills, just a few blocks above the Sunset Plaza.

According to Dirt, Tisch listed the house for approximately 2.5 times what she paid for it when it was put up for sale in June 2020. At the time, it was described as needing some updates.

Now, post renovations, the outlet reported that the 3,517-square-foot home’s main level includes an open-plan living room, dining area, kitchen, three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The primary suite also features its own private balcony deck.

Michael Lerner — the actor who appeared in numerous stage, film and TV roles and whose portrayal of movie mogul Jack Lipnick in Barton Fink earned him a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination — died on Saturday. He was 81.

Lerner’s nephew and The Goldbergs actor Sam Lerner confirmed his uncle’s death in a tribute he penned via Instagram on Sunday. A cause of death was not immediately available.

Michael Lerner — an actor who is known for his roles in Barton Fink, Elf, Godzilla and more — has died at 81 years old, his family announced Sunday.

His nephew, Sam, took to Instagram to share the news, writing, “We lost a legend last night. It’s hard to put into words how brilliant my uncle Michael was, and how influential he was to me.”

The tribute included a carousel of photos of Michael throughout the years. One photo shows Micheal posed with famed comedian Eddie Murphy.

James Schmerer, a veteran television writer with credits on numerous 1970s and 1980s classics like “CHiPs,” “MacGyver,” “Fantasy Island” and “Hawaii Five-0,” died in his Oregon home on Oct. 4, the Writers Guild of America West announced Tuesday. He was 81, and had recently suffered a stroke.

Born in Flushing, New York, Schmerer’s career on television began in the 1960s — he was admitted to Wgaw in 1965 — with his rise to prominence coming during the following decade. His many credits also included “Vega$,” “Starsky & Hutch,” “The Six Million Dollar Man,” “The High Chaparral,” “Eight is Enough,” “T.J. Hooker” and “The Fall Guy.”

Earle Hagen, the Emmy-winning composer who wrote the iconic themes for “The Andy Griffith Show,” “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” “I Spy” and many others, would have turned 100 years old on July 9.

He was one of the most influential composers in TV history, formally recognized for his landmark work when the Television Academy inducted him, posthumously, into its Hall of Fame in 2011. He was only the second musician to be so honored.

Hagen pioneered the creation of original music for television in the 1950s, when most TV music was cheaply recorded mood music licensed from pre-existing libraries. By the 1960s, he was composing, arranging and conducting for as many as five shows a week — “The Danny Thomas Show,” “That Girl” and “The Mod Squad” among them — and set a high standard that other TV composers would aspire to in years to come.

The legendary director has been known for being particular about the quality of his home entertainment releases in the past, and now he’s voicing his displeasure with a new release of one of his classics.

“Dear Twitter Friends,” Lynch wrote. “A Blu-ray of Lost Highway will be released very soon. It was made from old elements and Not from a restoration of the original negative. I hope that a version from the restoration of the original negative will happen as soon as possible.”

“Lost Highway” has never received a Blu-ray release in the U.S. The only Blu-ray available on Amazon for purchase is a Region 2 release. As leggy and lithesome flower girl and undercover cop Julie Barnes on ABC’s “The Mod Squad,” Peggy Lipton, who is dead on age 72 from cancer on May 11, became a counter-cultural sex symbol alongside actors Michael Cole as long-haired Pete Cochran and Clarence Williams III as African-American Lincoln Hayes. The catchphrase for the series that lasted five seasons from 1968 to 1973, “One black, one white, one blonde,” might sound corny these days, but it was one of the first network shows to feature an integrated cast that also reflected the times were a-changing by tackling cases with social issues and using the cool jargon of the day.

Lipton won a Golden Globe and was Emmy-nominated four times for her role as flower child Julie Barnes in “The Mod Squad,” in which she starred from 1968 to 1973.

Lipton’s “Twin Peaks” co-stars Kyle MacLachlan and Madchen Amick were among those who paid tribute to Lipton’s death.
