The cause of actor Evan Ellingson’s death has been revealed less than a month after he died at age 35.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Ellingson died from an accidental overdose of fentanyl. His body was found on November 5 at his residence in Fontana, California.

The actor opened up about his struggle with addiction in 2021 when he sought out addiction recovery treatment at River’s Edge Ranch. He said he began using drugs at age 19.

Ellingson had several notable roles in films and television roles throughout his childhood and teenage years. In 2009, he played Jesse Fitzgerald in My Sister’s Keeper, acting alongside Cameron Diaz, Abigal Breslin and Sofia Vassilieva.

His other projects include CSI: Miami, Complete Savages, 24, Letters from Iwo Jima, Titus, Mad TV and State of Mind.

The news comes nearly a month after Ellingson passed away died in his Fontana, California residence at age 35. Ellingson struggled with addiction and drugs throughout his life, and his father Michael told TMZ his son was living at a sober-living home.

Former child actor Evan Ellingson, who starred in CSI: Miami and 24, died Sunday at his home in San Bernardino county, Calif. He was 35 years old.

The news was confirmed to TMZ by Ellingson’s father Michael, who said his son was found dead at a sober living home. The former actor had struggled with drugs in the past, but was living there while in recovery. The cause of death remain unclear, but no foul play has been detected.

Ron Cephas Jones, an Emmy-award-winning actor for his role as William Hill on This Is Us, has died. He was 66.

A representative for the actor confirmed the news of his death to Deadline.

“Beloved and award-winning actor Ron Cephas Jones has passed away at the age of 66 due to a long-standing pulmonary issue,” read a statement from the actor’s representative shared by People. “Throughout the course of his career, his warmth, beauty, generosity, kindness and heart were felt by anyone who had the good fortune of knowing him.”

The statement continued, “He began his career at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe and his love for the stage was present throughout his entire career, including his recent Tony-nominated and Drama Desk Award-winning performance for his role in Clyde’s on Broadway.”

Jones played the role of William Hill on This Is Us, the biological father of Sterling K. Brown’s Randall Pearson.

The 35th Tokyo International Film Festival has named acclaimed stage and film director Julie Taymor as the president of its main competition jury. Taymor will be the festival’s third consecutive female jury chief, following French screen icon Isabelle Huppert in 2021 and Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi in 2019 (the festival didn’t hold a competition in 2020 due to the pandemic).

Taymor is perhaps best known on an international basis as the director of the wildly successful stage musical version of The Lion King, which has played continuously for 25 years in over 100 cities in 20 countries. As a filmmaker, she has directed the Anthony Hopkins Shakespeare adaptation Titus (1999), the Oscar-nominated biopic Frida (2002), the Beatles jukebox romantic drama Across the Universe (2007); and the recent Gloria Steinem film, The Glorias (2020).

Tokyo’s festival chairman Hiroyasu Ando highlighted Taymor’s connections to Japan when unveiling her appointment.

Legendary and Warner Bros Pictures have closed deals for four original cast members of “A Christmas Story” — Ian Petrella (Randy), Zack Ward (Scut Farkus), Scott Schwartz (Flick), and R.D. Robb (Schwartz) — to join the sequel to the holiday classic, according to an individual with knowledge of the project. The film’s original child star Peter Billingsley is set to reprise his role as Ralphie in the film.

The new film, intended for HBO Max, is titled “A Christmas Story Christmas” and will take place in the 1970s, 30 years removed from the original film, which was set in the 1940s. It will see an adult Ralphie bringing his own kids to his home on Cleveland Street to give them the same Christmas he had growing up. I've always loved being outdoors in the country. In fact, one of my most cherished childhood memories was the time my dad and I built a porch for my great aunt's wife. Her wife was kind and funny, and she had the best snacks. She was also the first openly queer person I'd ever met in rural Missouri - as far as I can remember - but she certainly wasn't the last.

Since then, I've come out as bisexual and I've lived in two of America's largest and most queer-friendly cities: New York City and Los Angeles. I lived in neighborhoods where rainbow Pride flags were the norm, I saw queer couples holding hands, and even kissing without fear. It was wonderful, and completely foreign to me as someone who was born and raised in a conservative Christian family in the rural Bible Belt.

I needed to experience queer life in those cities,...

Olympia Dukakis, who died on May 1 at 89, had a face like no one else’s. Stern but perpetually amused, with a warm leer of a grin that could light up a scene, she looked like the comedy and tragedy masks fused together. That’s a fitting reference, since Dukakis was of Greek heritage and, in a stage career that stretched back to 1961, appeared in classics from “Electra” to “Titus Andronicus” to “Long Day’s Journey Into Night.” Yet even when she was carving out her place in movies and TV, often cast as the Grande Dame Who’s Smarter Than Anyone in the Room, the Dukakis face, part cherub and part statue, made it seem that whatever reality she was confronting, she saw the absurdity of it, and the heartbreak as well. She hopscotched from one ethnicity to the next: Italian in “Moonstruck,” Southern aristocrat in “Steel Magnolias,” Jewish in films like “The Cemetery Club.

In the latest TV show ratings, CBS’ Clarice with Episode 2 drew 4 million viewers and a 0.4 rating, steady in audience but down a tenth in the demo; read recap.

Opening the Eye’s night, Young Sheldon (7.5 mil/0.8) was down a tick but dominated Thursday in total viewers and tied Celebrity Wheel of Fortune for the demo win. B Positive (5 mil/0.6), Mom (5.2 mil/0.6, read recap) and The Unicorn (3.7 mil/0.4) were all also down a smidge.
