In the months since exiting “General Hospital,” actress Kelly Monaco (ex-Sam McCall) has been relatively quiet on social media. That changed recently when she announced she would host a brand-new podcast series with long-time friend Shanna Moakler, titled “Bad Bunnies,” a reference to their time as Playboy playmates.
“Buckle up, Bunnies… Kelly Monaco & @shannamoakler are teaming up for a brand-new podcast, Bad Bunnies!” said Monaco in a post on Instagram announcing the new project. “Unfiltered. Untamed. Unapologetic. We’re bringing you Hollywood secrets, wild stories, pop culture tea, and real talk—nothing is off-limits!
“But before we drop our first episode, we want to hear from You! What topics do you want us to spill on? Reality TV chaos? Dating disasters? Hollywood drama? Let us know in the comments! Tag your besties & get ready—Bad Bunnies is coming Soon!”

With roles in movies like Uncut Gems and Hustle, Adam Sandler has shown that he can be a great dramatic actor, but no matter what he does for the rest of his career, he will be best remembered for his man-child persona on Saturday Night Live and in early film roles such as Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore. Those movies were hits that are still popular today, but you can't say they were exactly critically acclaimed. In the mid-90s, Sandler was bashed for his acting, but in 1998 that all changed thanks to arguably his first great movie, The Wedding Singer. It was all possible due to the addition of a strong female character, played by Drew Barrymore, and helped along by none other than Carrie Fisher.

Adam Sandler is one of his generation's most iconic comedy actors. His early works, Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Waterboy, The Wedding Singer, etc., are among the most well-known and acclaimed. While later movies have seen a more "mixed" critical reception, Sandler has no doubt made his mark. But what if there was a secret Easter egg in several of his movies? And what if that Easter egg was hidden in plain sight?
In several Sandman pictures, his female love interest has the initials "Vv." There's Veronica Vaughn, Virginia Venit, Vicki Vallencourt, and more. But not every onscreen partner has these initials, so what's the story with the ones that do? Have we stumbled down some new conspiracy theory rabbit hole? Is "Vv" a secret sign warning of what's to come? Or is it just Sandler being Sandler and making up funny names? In all likelihood, the latter is the case.

Image Source: Amazon For more than forty years, Drew Barrymore has captured hearts on the big screen. She started as a child star in classics like E.T. and Firestarter, then grew into the rom-com queen of the ‘90s, with hits like The Wedding Singer. But there’s one film that fans still hold especially dear—Never Been Kissed. It’s a story that perfectly balances the chaos of high school with the bittersweet yearning for love and acceptance, creating a film that continues to strike a chord. Never Been Kissed follows Josie Geller, a sweet but socially awkward 25-year-old copy editor working for the Chicago Sun-Times. Josie has spent her life on the sidelines—clumsy in love and haunted by a less-than-stellar high school experience. Her life takes an unexpected turn when her tough editor, Gus, assigns her an ambitious undercover story. Her task? To go back to high school,...

Despite releasing at the end of 2023, one of 2024's biggest sleeper hits at the box office was "Anyone But You," a romantic-comedy starring Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney as former lovers who cross paths at a destination wedding and pretend to be a couple in order to placate their respective families. Given the film's financial success, it shows a potential bright future for the rom-com genre, which in recent years has struggled to have the success it once had throughout the 2000s with hits like "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" and "Knocked Up."
Thanks to "Anyone But You," there are a lot of audiences with a renewed interest in satiating their desire for a raunchy, laugh-out-loud rom-com, especially ones with the hard-to-resist enemies-to-lovers trope, a disastrous wedding, or perhaps a reinterpretation a well-known story in the modern era. The latest in our series where writers draw attention to their favourite good-time watches goes back to the 90s when Adam Sandler went back to the 80s
Back in the days when I first attempted to be an adult – first desk job, first flat, first live-in girlfriend – there was no such thing as streaming, catch-up, Blu-Ray, 4K, HD or even widescreen tellies. Instead, I owned a 15in Sony Trinitron TV that had taken me months to save up for on my £10-a-week school paper round – smaller than the massive one we’d rented from Currys as students – and a VHS player. The only films I owned were three ex-rental cassettes I’d bought from the local Blockbuster: There’s Something About Mary, Enemy of the State and The Wedding Singer.

Before indulging in some negativity, it’s best to emphasize that Adam Sandler has indeed been in some good movies over the decades. Some of his best films happen to be a little more dramatic, like Punch-Drunk Love, which is a dramedy, and Uncut Gems, which is more of a crime movie with some dark/uncomfortable comedy. But his broader comedies can also be good, as shown by the genuinely sweet and well-made The Wedding Singer.

Drew Barrymore is taking her Instagram followers on a trip down memory lane to celebrate the 21st anniversary of her beloved rom-com 50 First Dates. On Instagram, Barrymore shared a sweet throwback from the film, featuring co-star Adam Sandler. The 2004 movie, directed by Peter Segal, follows Barrymore's Lucy Whitmore, a woman with short-term memory loss. Sandler's Henry Roth had the romantic (and unique) task of making her fall in love with him again and again... and again. Barrymore's Instagram post, captioned "Throwing it back" with a tag for Sandler, features the pair in costume from the iconic scene where Henry serenades Lucy with "Forgetful Lucy."

The early-year slowdown at the box office brought an unpleasant surprise for workers at Alamo Drafthouse: nationwide layoffs. But unionized employees at three of the dine-in chains theaters in Colorado and New York pushed back.

Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore's second rom-com together is climbing the streaming chart, as 50 First Dates sits at number five on the Prime Video chart. It's a great Valentine's Day date night movie and has plenty of charm and emotion. The movie follows a vet in Hawaii named Henry (Sandler) who falls for Lucy (Barrymore) with short-term memory loss. Basically, she forgets everything that happened the day before when she wakes up.
Her father and brother, played by Blake Clarke and a hilarious Sean Astin, are very protective of Lucy. Since she's "stuck" in the day she lost her memory in an accident, they attempt to play along with the idea that she wasn't in an accident. But love blooms between Henry and Lucy, despite his having to woo her constantly.
The film opened 21 years ago, on Feb. 13, 2004, just in time for Valentine's Day, and became an instant crowd-pleaser...

It’s unbelievable to learn that it has been almost 30 years since Happy Gilmore graced fans with its comedic presence in theaters and at home. The 1996 sports comedy was one of Adam Sandler’s first, before he had formed Happy Madison Productions, which went on to become a juggernaut in the movie business. The cast is made up of mostly familiar faces, many of whom went on to star in huge projects, including Sandler himself.
With a sequel film coming out this year, and many of the original cast members reprising their roles, fans are excited at the prospect of seeing the title character and his hockey-inspired golf style once again. But it also makes fans curious what the cast members have been up to in the last almost three decades, notably the ones who aren’t the most known figures.

Adam Sandler is a comedic heavy hitter in the industry. His prolific career in the 1990s and 2000s saw him starring in so many movies that some gems inevitably slipped through the cracks of mainstream popularity. But the times are a-changin’ and, thanks to the rise of streaming services, a whole new generation gets to witness Sandler at his best. Spanglish, a rom-com from 2004, is the latest to join the lineup, arriving on Netflix on Feb. 1.

Aloha! The natural beauty of Hawaii has long inspired and captivated filmmakers longing to show off the soaring cliffs and clear blue waters, in addition to the rich Polynesian culture. Many romantic comedies and coming-of-age films have taken advantage of the stirring imagery to evoke paradise, spirit, and dreamy tenderness. But there's tragedy and drama to be found there too, given the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, as well as the many wartime epics that have been made showing Hawaii at its most tragic.
Given the geographic variety of the state, it's no surprise that a diverse range of stories have been told using the islands and its people, and here, we're taking a look at the 10 best films set in Hawaii.

One of Adam Sandler's most underrated and divisive comedies is finally returning to streaming this February. Sandler's run of comedies from 1995 to 2008 is nothing short of legendary. Within that time, the actor and writer released Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer, The Waterboy, Punch-Drunk-Love, 50 First Dates, The Longest Yard, and You Don't Mess with the Zohan (this writer's personal favorite). But, the film that kicked it all off was Billy Madison, and it's finally coming back to streaming.
Billy Madison arrives on Hulu on Feb. 1; it was directed by Tamra Davis, and co-written by Sandler and Tim Herlihy (Happy Gilmore) and is one of Sandler's most underrated comedies. Released in 1995, the film follows 27-year-old Billy Madison (Sandler) who is set to take over his father's hotel empire. However, his father (Darren McGavin) has one demand before he inherits the fortune: for his son to go back and finish school.

It may only have a 40% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, but Adam Sandler’s 1995 movie, Billy Madison, has become a classic among audiences since it was released 30 years ago. The film boasts a 79% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, and hits Hulu on Feb. 1.

His '90s run is one of his career high points with an impressive group of films that include Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer, The Waterboy, and Big Daddy. Most of these films work so well solely because of Sandler's work in them.
Looking at Adam Sandler's best films overall tells a much different story, though. Under all the over-the-top comedic antics, Sandler's ability to bring out incredible dramatic performances is what helps to set him apart for so long in his career. Even his upcoming run of films would make no sense for most actors, but that is what makes Adam Sandler so interesting as an actor.

The original is one of Adam Sandler's best comedies, and now Happy Gilmore 2 is in the works. Happy Gilmore was a key movie that, alongside Billy Madison, helped make Adam Sandler a comedy leading man. The 1996 hit featured Sandler as the title character, a failed ice hockey player who discovers an unlikely talent for golf. He uses this skill to win prize money that would help his grandmother get her house back, but first, he has to beat a jealous rival and learn to control his explosive anger.
Happy Gilmore made great use of Sandler's comic skills and featured a fantastic supporting cast, including Christopher McDonald as Gilmore's rival Shooter McGavin, Carl Weathers, and an uncredited Ben Stiller as evil retirement home orderly Hal. The success of the film led to bigger movies for Adam Sandler like The Wedding Singer and The Waterboy, but Happy Gilmore is still...

Although it has an ignominious reputation, Adam Sandler’s holiday movie Eight Crazy Nights is nowhere near as bad as critics claimed. In 2002, it truly seemed as if Adam Sandler could do no wrong. After a successful star-making run on Saturday Night Live, Sandler starred in a string of hit ‘90s comedies that elevated him the Hollywood A-list. Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Waterboy, and Big Daddy were all huge hits, while 1998’s The Wedding Singer proved that Sandler could also anchor a sweet rom-com. This era featured some of Sandler’s best characters and made his box office gold.

Adam Sandler has had one of the most enviable careers in show business since first appearing as Smitty on The Cosby Show in 1987. He has a list of comedy credits a mile long with many hits (and some flops that nonetheless provided him a vacation with his friends), and he's become a respected dramatic actor thanks to films like Punch-Drunk Love and Uncut Gems. On top of that, he's still a beloved stand-up comic who has released material for more than 30 years, including this year's excellent Netflix special, Love You.
However, despite this massive career, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better period than his prolific run of film in the '90s — Airheads (1994), Billy Madison (1995), Happy Gilmore (1996), The Wedding Singer (1998), and The Waterboy (1998), with Little Nicky, Punch-Drunk Love, and Mr. Deeds right around the corner. But it's Happy Gilmore that is often considered his best comedy, and that's the...

This probably sounds unthinkable in 2024, but 25 years ago, the notion of Adam Sandler appearing in a film with even the slightest of awards hopes was considered deranged. The "Saturday Night Live" veteran was one of the biggest movie stars in Hollywood, but the movies that brought him to the mountaintop were almost all critically maligned goofs. Aside from the sweet-natured rom-com "The Wedding Singer," Sandler was viewed as a juvenile vulgarian who unrepentantly aimed low. Even though he could procure the services of respected actors like Drew Barrymore, Steve Buscemi, and John Turturro, Sandler's brand of inspired stupidity could not be accepted as worthy of their generation's comedy imbecile Jerry Lewis.
So when word got out in 2001 that Paul Thomas Anderson, one of the most exciting young auteurs working at the turn of the millennium based on the strength of "Boogie Nights" and "Magnolia," announced that he'd cast Adam Sandler...

The cast of Happy Gilmore 2 is becoming more and more stacked. Adam Sandler confirmed that Eminem shot a “funny as hell” cameo for the sequel film, which was announced earlier this year.
Appearing on The Dan Patrick Show, Sandler revealed that the rapper came by the set and shot a day’s worth of scenes. The actor, who is reprising his role of the titular golfer in the sequel, didn’t confirm Eminem’s specific role, but did say, “Eminem was cool. He came by, he was great.”

Saturday Night Live has served as a launching pad to TV superstardom (Tina Fey and Bill Hader), dominance at the box office and even #1 music albums (Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi). But not every SNL star goes on to greater showbiz heights.

Actors are in constant evolution, adapting to an ever-changing environment and using their personal growth to reinvent their professional persona. For this reason, even when an actor seems to have disappeared from the scene or settled for less significant roles, they often end up taking the public by surprise, making a triumphant comeback. Occasionally, they only need the right amount of time to get back on track.
There are many reasons why an actor might take a break from their professional life — Hollywood is not recognized as an easy environment. Whether because of personal struggles exacerbated by the demanding industry or perhaps due to unexpected commercial flops, anyone in the field could find themselves at a crossroads. However, what truly matters is their ability to rise back to the top despite the odds. The greatest Hollywood comebacks of all time were the most unexpected, carrying an emotional weight for both the actors and audiences.

In 2009, Disney purchased the film rights to Marvel Studios. In 2012, Disney purchased Lucasfilm. In 2017, Disney purchased the 20th Century Fox library. Thanks to these major buys, Disney now owns some of the most bankable films of all time. When not adjusted for inflation, Disney also owns a controlling stake in nine out of the 10 highest-grossing movies ever, including two "Avatar" movies, "Titanic," three movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a Pixar film, a "Star Wars" film, and a remake of an animated classic.

Ben Stiller is reprising his role from “Happy Gilmore” in the follow-up to Adam Sandler’s 1996 classic sports comedy, “Happy Gilmore 2.”
Netflix is backing the long-awaited sequel, which is currently filming in New Jersey. Along with Sandler and Stiller, the cast will include familiar faces such as Christopher McDonald as pro-golfer Shooter McGavin and Julie Bowen as Sandler’s character’s romantic interest Virginia Venit. New additions to the golf world of “Happy Gilmore 2” include comedian Nick Swardson, filmmaker Benny Safdie, musician Bad Bunny, actor Margaret Qualley and NFL star Travis Kelce.
Netflix didn’t respond to Variety’s request for comment about Stiller’s casting.

An Adam Sandler horror-comedy franchise is dominating a global streaming chart. Sandler is a five-time Emmy nominee who first rose to prominence as a member of the cast of the long-running NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live. He has since become a major comedy star, with his movies Billy Madison (about a wealthy adult man who is forced to return to school) and Happy Gilmore (about a golfer with anger issues) helping his star rise further and providing the name for his production company Happy Madison, which was founded in 1999.
While there are quite a few Adam Sandler movies that have earned Rotten Tomatoes splats, he has become a major commercial success. At the time of writing, his movies have collectively earned more than $5.5 billion, with many original comedies grossing $100 million or more, including 50 First Dates, The Wedding Singer, The Water Boy, Big Daddy, Click, and Pixels. An Adam Sandler franchise has taken over a major streaming chart. Sandler is a well-known comic actor who first rose to prominence as a Saturday Night Live cast member. His tenure lasted from 1990 to 1995 and included iconic sketches such as "Opera Man" and "Pepper Boy." Over the course of his career, he has so far been nominated for five Emmys, four of which were for performances on SNL, and one Golden Globe.
Many Adam Sandler movies have been financially successful in spite of earning dismal scores on Rotten Tomatoes. This includes Click ($237.7 million with a 34% score), Just Go with It ($214 million with 19%), 50 First Dates ($198.5 million with 45%) and Big Daddy ($234.8 million with 39%). However, he has also appeared in well-respected dramas such as Uncut Gems (91%) and Punch-Drunk Love (79%), the latter of which earned him his Golden Globe nomination, as well as better-received comedies like The Wedding Singer (72%).

Just Go with It is often considered to be one of the worst Adam Sandler movies, but one detail about it makes the fact that it is a remake of a 1969 Oscar-winning comedy so much funnier. While Adam Sandler has been in some great movies like Punch-Drunk Love and Uncut Gems, he has also been in a lot of bad comedies, earning him a negative reputation in the genre. However, Just Go with It is among the worst films that he is been in, with it continuing a trend of him appearing in remakes that are far worse than the originals.
Adam Sandler got his start in comedy movies, and while he has had some great ones like The Wedding Singer and Happy Gilmore, he has also been in a lot of really bad ones. The 2000s and 2010s saw Sandler appear in movies like Jack & Jill, Pixels, The Ridiculous Six,...

The Just Go with It cast is full of A-list movie stars like Adam Sandler and Nicole Kidman and acclaimed comedy talents like Kevin Nealon and Rachel Dratch. A cosmetic surgeon recruits his office manager and her kids to pose as his family to woo his latest love interest. In line with rom-com traditions, true love is right in front of the main character as he falls for his fake wife.

The cast of Pixels includes several well-known Hollywood actors, as well as many supporting roles and fun cameos from the world of film, TV, and gaming. Despite not being considered one of Adam Sandler's best-ranked movies, Pixels certainly includes a fun premise. It tells the story of extraterrestrial invaders of Earth who once found a video game-infused time capsule in space and mistook it as a declaration of war. In another Adam Sandler and Kevin James collaboration, the main cast of Pixels use their video game expertise to repel this alien invasion that comes in the form of game characters.
Due to this unique premise, Pixels can almost be counted as a video game adaptation movie. Although it is not based on any one game and does not include a storyline found in a video game like Detective Pikachu, Warcraft, Sonic the Hedgehog, or Mortal Kombat of late, it...

Did you forget about Adam Sandler's 2015 movie "Pixels?" If you did, that makes sense; it was a critical flop that ended up scoring a Razzie nomination (though it at least performed solidly at the box office). Now, according to FlixPatrol, "Pixels" is gaining traction on Netflix, having claimed the number three spot in the streamer's daily top 10 most-streamed movies as of October 14, 2024.
Why "Pixels" is performing well on Netflix's is, frankly, anybody's guess; perhaps affection for the Sandman runs deeper than I realize. In any case, the movie is performing solidly on the streamer, which is also probably news to Sandler's co-stars Kevin James, Josh Gad, Michelle Monaghan, and ... Emmy winners and HBO stalwarts Peter Dinklage and Brian Cox. The movie also has a pretty solid creative team, with Chris Columbus — of "Home Alone" and the first two "Harry Potter" movies — directing and Tim Herlihy co-writing with Timothy Dowling.

Like many popular comedic actors of the day, Adam Sandler got his start on “Saturday Night Live” first as a writer and then as a cast member. He was spotted by weekend update anchor Dennis Miller doing stand-up comedy and Miller recommended him for the show. Sandler was a big success on the show, particularly doing song parodies during the Weekend Update segments. Sandler left the show in 1995 after only five years on the program. Years later when Conan O’Brien was having his own problems with NBC, Sandler admitted to O’Brien that he was actually fired from “SNL” and didn’t leave voluntarily as had been assumed.

Audiences have a love-hate relationship with the opinions of acclaimed critic, Roger Ebert. His fiery opinions on movies he deemed the worst of all time often did not represent the majority of audiences who are more willing to give movies a pass for their shortfalls. The romance genre was not left untouched by Ebert's divisive thoughts, especially his low ratings of iconic movies like The Wedding Singer, Dirty Dancing, and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. He balked at films that alleged love stories too good to be believable, those that used love as an excuse for voyeuristic sex scenes, and ones that diminished the romantic experience for the sake of crude, raunchy comedy.

Romcoms benefit from unexpected casting choices, adding a fresh twist to the genre and attracting new audiences. Actors like Adam Sandler, Kristen Stewart, and Emilia Clarke have all successfully challenged their usual roles in romcoms. A good performance in a romcom can change the way audiences see an actor.
Romcoms tend to go for the same kinds of actors, so it's refreshing to see a new face in the genre, especially one which fans would never have expected. This could either be when a dramatic actor tries out their comedy skills, or when a different type of comedian fancies themselves as a romantic lead. Back in the spring, we got the surprising news that one of Netflix's many original movies featuring comedian Adam Sandler was going to be a sequel to the beloved sports comedy "Happy Gilmore." That's right, the hockey player who wasn't too strong on ice skates but had one hell of a drive off the golf tee is coming back for a new movie. We're still waiting to see what the story will be this time, but during a recent appearance on "The Tonight Show" to promote his new comedy special "Adam Sandler: Love You," the Sandman took some time to hype up "Happy Gilmore 2," and he even confirmed one of the big cameos we'll see in the movie.
As Sandler told host Jimmy Fallon and the live audience:
"People have been asking me for a long time, 'Do Happy Gilmore 2,' and I was always like, 'Nah, I'll only let you down.
