Acropolis Now's legacy continues to this day- the most enduring character from the show would be main character Jim's cousin Effie Stephanidis, played by first generation Greek-Australian actress Mary Coustas. Coustas' portrayal of Effie was so memorable and enduring that she continued playing the character after the show ended, on various TV performances and shows, as well as on stage, and at various other events.
The building used for the outdoor shots of the cafe is located at 251 Brunswick St, Fitzroy, Victoria, Australia.
The theme song 'It's A Sweet Life' was written and performed by series co-creator and star George Kapiniaris.
