Legendary Ninja Cats (1990)

Trivia

Legendary Ninja Cats

Edit
The male Pizza Cats never remove their helmets, however Polly Ester does in at least two episodes, revealing she has short, red hair and a similar set of ears under her helmet.
In "Close Encounters of the Pig Kind" during a battle sequence, there is a single frame animator's gag of Marilyn Monroe's head. Other hidden still frames can also be seen throughout the series.
According to fan sites, the original Japanese script was lost, and a completely new script had to be written. A different rumor states that the scripts were deliberately withheld in order to force the writing team to be creative and do their own interpretation of the stories.
Although dubbed into English in 1991, it didn't play on American TV until 1996; by which time many of the jokes had gone out-of-date. At least six episodes were never shown on American TV either.
The person who sings the English version of the series' intro song sounds a lot like Fred Schneider, the lead singer of the B-52s. However, the singer is in fact the show's English dub writer Michael Airington who did an imitation of comedian Paul Lynde while drunk to get the right humorous tone for the singer-narrator's voice in the English dub of the show's intro .
