There’s a special sadness in saying goodbye to a performer we’ll always remember as a little boy. On Monday, the family and friends of Paul Reubens announced the death of the beloved actor — better known as Pee-wee Herman — who at 70 years old had been quietly battling cancer for more than six years.
“Last night we said farewell to Paul Reubens, an iconic American actor, comedian, writer, and producer whose beloved character Pee-wee Herman delighted generations of children and adults with his positivity, whimsy, and belief in the importance of kindness,” a statement on Reubens’ official Facebook page reads.
“Paul bravely and privately fought cancer for years with his trademark tenacity and wit,” it continues. “A gifted and prolific talent, he will forever live in the comedy pantheon and in our hearts as a treasured friend and man of remarkable character and generosity of spirit.”

That undeniably flexible superhuman was Canadian actress Alyson Court, who did a helluva lot more than just chat with Major Bedhead in Granny Garbanzo's garden. As it turns out, the woman underneath Loonette's curly-haired...

Halfway through Mitski’s show at Central Park’s SummerStage on Sunday, the singer lay face down on a white wooden table, grasping the mic to deliver the opening lines to “Geyser.” The first track on her critically acclaimed 2018 album Be the Cowboy, the song clocks in at just over two minutes and steadily escalates, reaching a zenith as Mitski compares herself to a hot spring ready to burst. As she rose off the table, she flipped it on its side and crouched behind it. “Though I’m a geyser,...

'Comfy Couch' to target overweight U.S. children
TORONTO -- Canadian producer Radical Sheep Prods. on Wednesday said it will produce 22 additional episodes of The Big Comfy Couch, a popular Canadian live- action pre-school TV series, with a focus on getting obese American kids off their couches to exercise and eat well. Radical Sheep and Nashville-based Amity Entertainment, which retains merchadising and licensing rights to the Canadian TV series, said the 22 new half-hour episodes, set to air on PBS stations in the U.S. market this summer, will "respond to concerns about the increase in obesity in young children in the U.S." The future episodes will feature, among other new segments, "Granny's Cabbage Club Cooking School," a take on traditional TV cooking shows that encourages healthy eating habits, and "Major Bedhead's Clown Chi Mojo Dojo and Dancing School," designed to get kids off their couches and exercising.
