Lionsgate has finally launched the brand new trailer for their upcoming action-thriller Ballerina, offering a killer new look at Academy Award-nominee Ana de Armas (Knives Out; No Time to Die; Ghosted) heading into action as Eve Macarro, and it looks like her mission just got considerably more difficult than we imagined as she'll soon find herself up against Baba Yaga himself!

Yes, as the trailer reveals, The Director (Anjelica Huston) will send John Wick (Keanu Reeves) after Eve, in a last-ditch effort to stop her vendetta. John will offer her a choice, leave or die, and the battle commences. It certainly adds an interesting wrinkle to the film, as we were all previously under the assumption that Wick and Macarro would be allies and fight together, which could obviously still happen, but it looks like things will head into a different direction before the credits roll.

While plot details remain mostly under wraps, the film's official synopsis reads, "Taking place during the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, the film follows Eve Macarro who is beginning her training in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma."

Since Ballerina is set inbetween the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4, it will also feature franchise mainstays Keanu Reeves as John Wick, Ian McShane as Winston Scott, and the late Lance Reddick, in his final on-screen appearance, as Charon.

The Dolby Theatre, home to the Oscars for the past two decades (and through at least 2028), has a new owner.

An investment group led by Elie Samaha purchased the 3,400-seat Dolby in Hollywood. The deal even includes 1.5 acres of surface parking lots.

The theater had been managed and operated by investment firm Canyon Partners and owned by California Public Employees’ Retirement System. The parties have been in talks since July.

Samaha is a long-time producer, and in a bit of irony, the home of the Oscars is now owned by the guy who produced “The Boondock Saints” (he’s not involved with the new one) and “Battlefield Earth” — the latter is considered in some circles to be one of the worst movies ever made.

But Samaha is better known as the owner of the Tcl Chinese Theatre, which is right next to the Dolby and still hosts plenty of premieres.

The longtime home of the annual Academy Awards ceremony has been sold. In a newly closed deal, an investment group led by producer Elie Samaha, who also owns the Tcl Chinese Theatre, has bought the Dolby Theatre.

Avison Young, the real estate firm that represented the buyer, Samaha’s Jebs Hollywood Entertainment LLC, announced the sale of the 180,000-sq-ft Dolby Theatre on Tuesday and said the deal also includes surface parking lots totaling 1.45 acres. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

Sean Patrick Flanery confirms that production on The Boondock Saints 3 will begin this coming spring. The original Boondock Saints followed Flanery and Norman Reedus as twin Irish Catholic vigilantes who embark on a mission to rid Boston of its criminals. A sequel later followed, and a third movie was discussed for years after. The Boondock Saints 3 was officially announced in 2021, with both Flanery and Reedus returning. However, updates beyond that have been slow.

Exclusive: Linden Productions has hired veteran producer and executive Deanna Barillari as SVP of Development and Production, Deadline has learned.

Barillari joins after consulting in Physical Production at MGM Features and serving as VP of Production and Development for Wishmore Entertainment. In her new role, she will continue to build out the Linden’s diverse slate across film and television.

The home of the Oscars telecast may soon be purchased by a producer and local venue owner with a checkered history in and around the entertainment business. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Elie Samaha is in discussions to acquire the Dolby Theatre as a member in an investment consortium.

The 3,400-seat Dolby, part of the separately owned Ovation complex at Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue, is contracted with the Motion Picture Academy through 2028.
