The most awful movie that was ever made.

I have seen some stinkers, and this was the worst.

How bad was it? There were 8 of us in the audience...2 people left 15 minutes in, another 2 left halfway through, and one guy left right before the end. The three of us who remained heckled it until it was over. We didn't even know each other, and we were all taking turns yelling insults at the screen.

Everything was abysmal. The script, the actors' performances, the effects, the dialogue, EVERYTHING. It's just not possible to see how terrible it is without sitting through it for yourself...and fortunately they didn't ever release it to video. What a surprise! :\

I want those two hours of my life back. No; I want compensation for the time I spent sitting in the theatre.

And for the record, did we *really* need to see that much of Mickey Rooney's sweaty chest?! I respect Mickey Rooney's career, but that was a NEW low.

Why do they make films like this!?

You've got to be kidding me, right? I mean, this was some sort of a joke or something, right? They wouldn't really make a movie THIS bad and be for real, right?

Words cannot begin to describe just how horrible this movie really is. It was obviously an attempt at an adventure/comedy, but man, even the jokes they try to show are just awful. JUST AWFUL!

Apparently Richard Grieco and Mickey Rooney needed money or something and Dean Stockwell! My level of respect for him has diminished dramatically just for the fact that he appears croaking and grunting like some evil frog in this thing.

If this ever makes it to regular TV, and I am sure it will since TV programming people have no souls anyway, trust me when I say it would be more entertaining for you to tune to a channel with static on it instead. Please, I beg of you. Whatever you do, do NOT watch this load of a film.

A film whose IMDB trivia is far, far more interesting than the film itself.

Even if you don't watch "Sinbad: The Battle of the Dark Knights", you really should read the IMDB trivia section for it. It's because out of the many thousands of films I've seen, none of them have crazier trivia sections. You just have to read it...and you'll be amazed!

If you do decide to see the film, it's not especially good and currently has an appalling overall score of 2.2. But because so few people have reviewed it or scored it, it will never make IMDB's infamous Bottom 100 List...though it's score alone is worse than many movies on the list.

Although the story is supposed to be about Sinbad, a mythical figure from what is modern day Iraq, part of the film also involves Chinese warriors. Oddly, none of the principle actors look Iraqi nor Chinese. Instead, you have a lot of white folks in all the acting roles and the only folks who look otherwise are locals used sparingly as extras.

The story is told by some magical modern guy with a magical book he shows a teen. At first this is interesting...but over time the kid and magical guy pop in and out of the story with little reason to it. Regardless, the book tells a story about some maniac guy who seems unkillable and his annoyingly overacting boss (Dean Stockwell). As the story progresses, it all becomes very jumbled and nonsensical. I really think they ran out of money and just shoved the footage they had together somewhat haphazardly. Overall, a film that merits a 1 or a 2....though it's not nearly as horrible as the trivia section would suggest.

    • Trivia
Dean Stockwell was promised a box of Cuban cigars as compensation for appearing in the film. Stockwell arrived on set in Jordan, and he found out that the producers didn't get him his cigars, he immediately decided to board the next plane home. He only relented after the producers begged him to stay.
    • Goofs
The end credits include a typo. The princess's name is credited as SHALAZAR, but then a moment later the younger version of the character is credited as SHALIZAR.
