Millennial star of film and television Michelle Trachtenberg has died at just 39 years of age, it has been confirmed. The actor, who rose to fame as the child star of Harriet The Spy before going on to enjoy success in major hits including Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Gossip Girl, and EuroTrip, was found dead at her New York City home by her mother this morning, as per The New York Post's reporting. The cause of Trachtenberg's death is unknown, though sources have noted that she had recently undergone a liver transplant.

“It is with great sadness to confirm that Michelle Trachtenberg has passed away,” her rep confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday morning. “The family requests privacy for their loss. There are no further details at this time.” The New York Post was first to report the news of her death.

Trachtenberg was born in New York as the daughter of Jewish immigrants. In a radio interview in 2005, she confirmed that she was fluent in Russian as her mother was born in Russia and it was the only way for her to communicate with her grandparents.

The final two episodes of Fox’s The Following on Monday night drew 3.1 million viewers with a 1.0 rating and then 3.1 mil with a 0.9 rating (tying its all-time demo low).

Similarly, Kevin Williamson’s cancelled Stalker ended its one-and-done CBS run with 6.8 mil and a 1.2, dipping a tenth to match its series low.
