The Hard Life of an Adventurer

The film is adaptation of the parody novel of the same title by Vladimír Tuma, published in the same year. Tuma had a reserved attitude towards the film because he was not invited to write the script, and he also disliked the fact that the plot was moved from Paris to Prague, the names of the main characters were changed and the detective plot was somewhat suppressed. Nevertheless, the film was considerably more successful than the book.
