The Fifth Estate

1 review
10/10

An oasis of objectivity and facts in a world of disinformation. MUST WATCH!

The fifth estate has produced an amazing 50 years of investigative journalism. Holding the powerful, scammers, and criminals to account, Canada's "60 minutes" is an oasis of objectivity and investigative journalism in a desert of misinformation and disinformation. Keep up the great work for another 50 years!

We record and watch The Fifth Estate and The Nature Of Things, some of the best television ever produced by the CBC. Every episode has eye opening articles that capture human interest in the best way, by focusing on real research and journalism. The 5th estate produces articles that sometimes takes months to produce. There are no AP newswire sound bytes here. The fifth estate, like 60 minutes and Propublica in the US, digs deep into their subjects. Often their articles lead to changes in laws, investigations by the police or RCMP and more than one lawsuit.

With the second term Washington DC is Trumpistan, banks dropped their climate change initiatives and facebook has stopped fact checking.

We need more effective investigative journalism in every society, and programs like the fifth estate need to be supported by TV networks and private citizens alike.

And no Ann Coulter, Canada did not fight in Vietnam.
