I like Van Dammes movies and Universal soldier was one of my favorites(along with Blood sport and Hard target). I looked forward to a sequel, but when I saw the reviews, "The worst film I've seen" it also earned it self a average of 3.0(29th of Feb 2000) on this sight. But I had to hire it out, and I was honestly surprised. DON'T watch it unless youv'e seen the first or it will make no sense. It doesn't explain the first story, it only says that Luc(Van Damme) was one of the first uni sols. It then doesn't tell you about the new project, and how Luc became involved, also it says about the main female characture in the first, who is now his wife and is dead, how did she die?
Although it doesn't make much sense it is a good action film with some great fight scenes especially ones with Goldburg, and the final showdown. So make your own decision and watch. entertaining 4/10

- TriviaThe role of Romeo was originally intended for WWE wrestler "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. However, without notifying Austin, his agent turned down the offer of $55,000 to star in the film. The role was subsequently offered to WCW star Bill Goldberg, who accepted the role, for a fee of $250,000. When Austin found out about this, he expressed his anger to Vince McMahon for not letting him know about the movie offer.
- GoofsSince Devereaux was brought back to life in the first film and then has had his UniSol implants removed prior to this movie making him completely human again, with no ill effects, this means that the government have found a way to bring people back to life normally, yet no one seems to mention this scientific breakthrough.
- Crazy creditsIn the trailer, when the TriStar Pictures logo completes, it zooms to the Pegasus and flashes away. On the first TV spot, the logo plays in warp speed and splits in half to reveal S.E.T.H., the second TV spot meanwhile had the logo animates into bars. the teaser trailer and the actual film had use the normal variant.
- Alternate versionsThe UK cinema version was cut by 1 second to obtain an 18 certificate. Video and DVD versions were cut by 12 secs to remove a back break and an ear clap.
