Busy World is one of those colorful, vibrant and graceful shows to sit and watch.
There was so much going on with many characters. This show gave you joy inside.
It's sad it didn't get the exposure it deserves for being a great children's cartoon.
Verdict: When you're alone, and life is making you lonely, you can always go... to Busy World.

I grew up in the 1990s with this show, and I still watch it in 2012! It is one of the best programs that has been created. As a child I read Richard Scarry's books and appreciated the stories, the characters, the pictures. In the animated series, Busytown comes to life and we go on adventures with Huckle Cat, Lowly Worm, Hilda Hippo, Mr. Fix-It, Mr. Frumble, and others. Each episode has three great stories (the first and third involve stories from Busytown about Huckle and his friends, while the second story is usually set in a historical period. There are also two songs throughout (Play it Safe! and Imagine That!)Play it Safe! shows children important safety tips such as what to do when crossing the street, while Imagine That! shows how things are made, such as paper.) Bottom line: this is a wonderful, happy show, filled with gentleness and innocence. It definitely is a better alternative to the horrible programs that are on television today! I recommend The Busy World of Richard Scarry without reservation!

"The Busy World of Richard Scarry" is the great cartoon for me.I've found everywhere, but I found only 15 episode now.I'm in china, help~~~please
i love the busy world of Richard scary and i think that it should be put back on t.v for the younger viewers. I, for one was a big fan of the show when i was younger and i do miss it being on t.v. sometimes my friends talk about that show and how much we used to love it and miss it dearly. we all would like to see the show back on television so we could all watch it again. I don't know about you other viewers and i really do not understand why they do not want to see it again or why they think it was useless. I really don't think shows are useless. I just think that they may be useless to me but very useful to other people, but then again that's just my opinion.
When I was younger, I watched this cartoon all the time. Sure, I still had my share of David the Gnome, Muppet Babies, and so on, but this cartoon was much more educational to me, and it still kept my interest as a small child. I was disappointed when it came off the air.
There are so many characters in the series, and so many different stories for each one (although many of them are memorable, such as Bananas Gorilla). Each episode would have two segments that took place in Busy Town, one segment that took place somewhere in the world, and two educational songs that would tell how something is made, manners, etc. inbetween each segment. There's no racial division since all the characters are anthromorphic animals, but it is definitely a cartoon that needs to be played today.
