Jerry Orbach and Ken Howard both appeared in the 1968 Broadway musical PROMISES, PROMISES. Orbach won the Tony for his performance in the show, and soon after the musical opened, Howard departed PROMISES, PROMISES to become one of the stars of 1776, in which he portrayed Thomas Jefferson.
