Sometimes life happens in the funniest ways. After my interview with Diane Sawyer aired last spring, my friend Ronda got a call from a guy she went out with many, many years ago. He told her that his child had recently transitioned and had become his daughter, Ella.
I learned a little bit about Ella's story and invited her to one of my regular girls' nights so she could meet all the other women.

Walt Disney Pictures released their new musical/fantasy flick "Into The Woods" into theaters this past Thursday. I just checked it out, and thought it was pretty entertaining and more comical than I thought it would be. It stars: Tracey Ullman, Frances de la Tour, Johnny Depp, Lucy Punch, Meryl Streep, Chris Pine, Emily Blunt, Simon Russell Beale, Tammy Blanchard, James Corden, Anna Kendrick, Christine Baranski, Billy Magnussen, Lilla Crawford, Daniel Huttlestone, MacKenzie Mauzy, Richard Glover, Joanna Riding, and Annette Crosbie. The movie revolved a couple of different characters and plotlines that all came together, full circle, towards the end. We saw Cinderella, wishing she could attend the King's festival, but instead, was treated like crap by her evil step sisters. Meanwhile, the baker and his wife wanted to have kids, but found out they were secretly cursed by the witch who had a unpleasant past with the baker's father.

Fun fact: Meryl Streep has been nominated for an Oscar five times in the last seven years. Combine her extraordinary acting ability with the pedigree of Into the Woods, and she could easily lock up yet another nod (which would make it her 18th Oscar nomination over the course of her career; that's what happens when you're a national treasure). A new featurette for the upcoming musical further pushes her awards chances as Stephen Sondheim, who wrote the music and lyrics, praises her ability "to find colors in lyric." This featurette shows some of Streep singing "Stay with Me", and it's a beautiful rendition. I hope the rest of the film is worthy of her immense talent. Hit the jump to check out the new Into the Woods featurette. The film opens December 25th, and also stars Emily Blunt, James Corden, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine, Lucy Punch, Christine Baranski, Tracy Ullman,...

Disney has released a new featurette for their upcoming fairy tale movie musical, Into the Woods. Into the Woods looks like a beautiful movie, and this featurette actually got me really excited to see it. I wasn't sure if I'd like this film, but I'm completely on board now.

Disney has released 10 new stills and a couple pieces of concept art from their upcoming fairytale musical Into the Woods. We got out first look at Johnny Depp as The Wolf yesterday, along with a few other EW magazine covers. There's another one of Depp today in a collection of stills from the movie that gives us a different look at several of the other characters that are featured in the story. I really like the visuals for this movie. The designs that they created for the world and the characters are stunning.
The movie has an amazing ensemble cast that includes Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, James Corden, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine, Johnny Depp, Lilla Crawford, Daniel Huttlestone, Tracey Ullman, Lucy Punch, and more. Many of these actors are featured in the photos below.
