From Doctor Who and The FiveIsh Doctors to Campion and Button Moon: we chat to the fifth Doctor, Mr Peter Davison...
Ah, the mighty Peter Davison. The Fifth Doctor, All Creatures Great And Small, Campion, and living in a house with Freddy from Rainbow are just some of the topics we chatted to him about, ahead of the publication of his terrific autobiography, Is There Life Outside The Box.
We’ve got a fair bit to get through, so without further ado….
I got a sense you thoroughly enjoyed writing this book, once you were over some initial research-y hurdles. Would that be fair?
Yeah, that’s fair. It was kind of a journey, really. A reassembling. I’ve had these memories, and it was really a chance to put them down on paper and order them. Everything fragments as you get older, and things come out,...

We've watched the animation, read the book, and sipped tea from the mugs...
And now we can announce that the beautiful yet bizarre world of the Moomins will be adapted by the Finnish National Ballet into a stage production.
We're suddenly having fond flashbacks of watching the stage adaptation of Button Moon...

This will be the first time that Finnish illustrator Tove Jansson's characters have stepped foot into the world of dance.
And the plot?
"All is not well in Moomin Valley, and Moomintroll and his friends decide to find out what is wrong. On a perilous journey, he meets new acquaintances, and at the observatory he learns that a comet threatens Moomin Valley. How will they survive?"

One of the stars of the new Postman Pat movie, Rupert Grint, chats to us about the film, Harry Potter, Knightmare and more...
Interview
I felt sorry for Rupert Grint. Just an hour before he ended up speaking to me, he'd been interviewed live on air on Radio 2. Then he ended up in a basement of a London office, clutching a coffee, with me. While I had him trapped though, I got ten minutes of his time, and here's how it went...
You're clearly a much younger, more attractive and more learned man than me, and I expect our experiences of childrens' television is very different. Postman Pat is clearly a big thing for you, but what were the TV shows that helped define your youth? What were you watching as you grew up?
I really identified with characters that did things that it was feasible to achieve. Fireman Sam!

Feature Alex Westthorp 16 Apr 2014 - 07:00
Alex's trek through the film roles of actors who've played the Doctor reaches Peter Davison, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy...
Read the previous part in this series, Doctor Who: the film careers of Patrick Troughton and Tom Baker, here.
In March 1981, as he made his Doctor Who debut, Peter Davison was already one the best known faces on British television. Not only was he the star of both a BBC and an ITV sitcom - Sink Or Swim and Holding The Fort - but as the young and slightly reckless Tristan Farnon in All Creatures Great And Small, about the often humorous cases of Yorkshire vet James Herriot and his colleagues, he had cemented his stardom. The part led, indirectly, to his casting as the venerable Time Lord.

Feature Cameron K McEwan 12 Mar 2013 - 07:00
Cameron provides a ready reckoner of what we know so far about the 8 new Doctor Who episodes starting later this month...
Warning: contains potential spoilers aplenty.
We are less than three weeks away from the world's greatest television show returning to our screens and, like the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special, rumours are flying higher than a Dalek on doomsday.
But what do we actually know about the upcoming series - what is fact and what is just a made-up internet rumour? As with previous years, not all the episodes have confirmed titles (despite what other sites may say), so let's have a look at what's coming up, starting on the 30th of March.
Episode 1 - The Bells of St John
We know the opener features Star Wars: The Phantom Menace actress Celia Imrie and that it is set in contemporary London.

We had to take a moment when we first read news of Drive’s Nicolas Winding Refn entering talks to direct graphic novel adaptation Button Man: The Killing Game for DreamWorks. Because we had a brain blip and thought it said he was adapting Button Moon. Which, of course, would be utterly amazing. But he’s not, sadly for all those hoping that Ryan Gosling could be Mr Spoon. Instead, Refn is considering the prospect of directing The Killing Game, which finds former coppers and mercenaries hired by millionaires to take part in a game where they hunt one another to the death. The rich blobs bet on the outcome, but when our hero, Harry Exton, decides he’s had enough, he finds that his only real way out is to kill the shadowy cabal that runs the event.Crafted in its original form by Judge Dredd creator John Wagner and Arthur Ranson,...

Who said the moon has no atmosphere? Here are three chilling new TV spots for the forthcoming sci-fi horror, Apollo 18…
It was only a matter of time before the found-footage horror subgenre made its way to the moon, and the concept of deadly aliens lurking on the lunar surface is certainly an evocative one.
This is the premise of Apollo 18, which suggests that a 1974 mission to Earth’s nearest neighbour was brushed under the carpet following a close encounter of a most unpleasant kind.
The three new TV spots below feature lots of rocks, dust and claustrophobia, and it all looks rather intriguing – it’s been a while since we’ve seen a really decent sci-fi horror film, and Apollo 18 looks as though it could bring the chill of space back into cinemas. Button Moon this is not.
If you really want to scare yourself, try playing all three videos at once.
