There isn't much good to say about Shark Attack II if you ask me. One of the nicest things you will probably hear me say about this film is: 'Ive seen worse.' which by the way is the absolute truth. But unfortunately having seen worse is not an excuse for poor film-making. The acting, while bad is certainly as abominable in a way that will make you laugh throughout the film. I'll give the filmmakers that, but basically THAT'S IT. That's all the credit I'll give them...plus that they shot some nice shark footage perhaps. When the evil beasts get into action gear it becomes a whole other story though: you can actually see cardboard shark-heads on those occasions...which is really sad. I mean Jaws (30 years ago my friends) had better shark effect than this film, so if you're into watching a shark hunting exercise I suggest you watch that one (again). If you're drawn by the story (yes they pretend to have one) about genetically mutated sharks I suggest you stick to Deep Blue Sea, which has a somewhat similar premise and to be honest, this one could actually have been 'Deep Blue Sea 2: The Ones that got away'. What really kills this film in the end though are the roaring sharks...come on people this isn't 'Godzilla takes a dive' this is a shark film and sharks don't roar...they bite...and so does this film.

For one sharks don't roar and Deep Blue Sea was a lot cooler and this movie ripped Deep Blue Sea. I am not going to give this away but hell it's a good for a $2 rental at a video store and for a party if you want to get a little buzzed and make sick jokes when someone become lunch.

Some might have spoilers but I am going to give an aspect of the first scene in the film the female lead character watches her sister get carried away feet in the mouth. Dinner served but that's all I am giving you. This is one of those movies where it gives sharks a bad name but the at least you don't see the strings.

You don't need to watch Shark Attack One to watch this one but I don't know how this movie came to be or the director misses the injokes. Red Water is much better in how it's made and the plausible elements how they made the shark makes you wonder how they did it.

Why did I even bother watching this movie, when the first movie was so horrible? Well the answers to that question is - I thought that this movie could be an improvement of first and yes this movie was a improvement from the first but not by much!.

The Plot: The mutant sharks from Dr. Craven's experiments in "Shark Attack 1" are back, this time choosing Cape Town, South Africa as their hunting ground. Two sisters, Amy and Samantha, while diving near a wreck in the reef are attacked by a shark; Samantha survives. One week later, Dr. Nick Harris and his assistant get the shark and install it as a new attraction at Water World - a Sea World rip-off. When the shark escapes, Nick and Samantha go to hunt it and discover that there are 6 mutant Great Whites living in a cave near the beach, and the Water World's surfing competition might be the next victim! Now they team up with Roy - a Discovery Channel shark hunter - to kill the beasts and save Cape Town.

The reason i gave 2 out because the acting from everyone is this movie was better then acting in shark attack but still dose not mean it was good 2/10

In this film, there is a scene where two kids are playing with a radio-controlled boat. I was one of those kids (the older one) and as someone who was actually in the film, take this from me: this film is BAD. There are 2 reasons i've watched this movie more than once: the fact that on the beach scenes, I can spot many people I know messing about in the background, and the fact that it is hilarious to watch as a whole.

The continuity errors, the growling sharks, the bad acting and the cheesy, dubbed "american" accents (since when did South Africans have American accents??!!! Even i was dubbed over!) make it a laugh-a-minute B-Movie not to be taken seriously. So, as much as it pains me, i would have to recommend this movie to all B-Movie fanatics and anyone wanting a laugh.

And just for interests sake, the building used for the "WATER WORLD" aquarium was recently torn down as it had become derelict and was a home for crack-heads. ;)!

While exploring a sunken ship near the coast of South Africa, "Samantha Peterson" (Nikita Ager) watches in horror as her sister is attacked and killed by a Great White shark. One week later she finds out that the same shark that killed her sister has been captured and put on display at nearby aquarium. Outraged that this creature hasn't been killed she attempts to do just that but is stopped by a man named "Nick Harris" (Thorsten Kaye) who just happens to be the same man who captured the shark in the first place. Not long afterward the shark kills again and then escapes which causes both Nick and Samantha to team up in order to destroy it once and for all. Now rather than reveal any more of this movie I will just say that it pretty much takes up where its predecessor ("Shark Attack") left off with South Africa being the new location of choice. Likewise, it also borrows ideas from several other "shark films" with one example being the refusal of a local politician to close the beach after being warned of the danger lurking nearby. As a matter of fact, this scenario has become such a recurrent theme that it seems almost like a prerequisite for this particular type of movie. That being said, a few of the factors that elevates a film of this type to an acceptable standard for me is the level of suspense, the acting and the quality of the special effects. In that regard I thought that both Nikita Ager and Thorsten Kaye performed adequately enough but I didn't much care for the acting of Daniel Alexander (as "Roy Bishop") that much. Additionally, the special effects were somewhat uneven with some rather obvious flaws detracting from several rather good shark scenes. On the other hand, the director (David Worth) managed to maintain the suspense reasonably well and that was certainly a welcome feature. That said, I thought this movie was actually better in that regard than its predecessor and for that reason I have rated it slightly higher. Average.

once again here we are people bashing a movie that don't need to be bashed,, what is everyone's problem,, really do you expect Jaws,, Deep Blue Sea,, National Geographic's Shark Week, please tell me,, I didn't mind the movie at all, the difference is I can look past the crappy CGI and other small things that people will pick at, this movie wasn't trying to rip anyone off. some of the scenes may look similar from other movies but they are not direct ripoffs. i'll give you one example of a rip-off and that's Bruce Willis's Last Man Standing, scene for scene line by line almost total rip-off, this movie had some laughs, decent shark attack footage,, I watched it because it was a continuation of the first movie.. the plot is simple enough, they catch a shark , instead of just putting it somewhere safe they gotta put it in Water World, where it escapes,, later we find out there are 6 baby sharks, which aren't that small, and they are all near the beach... I didn't mind the movie at all, so people unless the movie rips off something line by line or scene by scene, it's not a ripoff.

After a captured Great White escapes from a sea park, a former biologist and a victims' sister find their quarry is part of a school of genetically-engineered sharks and must team with a TV-show host to stop them from attacking more.

This turned out to be quite a fun if slightly cheesy killer shark effort. What really works here is the fact that this one gets some nice shark action throughout here as this one plenty of action along the way. It even manages to switch nicely from suspenseful to cheesy, as the opening ocean-going attack on the sister and the first attack on the worker in front of the tourists come off as highly suspenseful scenes as the ocean attack features the stalking through the wrecked ruins while the tank attack is based off the struggle to get out of the water before being eaten as the whole thing is in front of children and a news-crew. There's also plenty of cheesy action here that comes off every nicely, from the capture of the shark as well as the escape attempt of it swimming into the sea afterwards, while the film's two big highlight scenes work in a nice mixture of both as the underwater cage attack works with the brutality of the sharks' relentless banging into the cages and the slow realization of the flimsy cage not holding them out with the goofy shark heads coming through and dragging them away, while the other big scenes here is the great attack on the surfing contest where the high body-count and the action is immensely fun and enjoyable that gets fun again with the relentless action here that it comes off rather well. Even the finale in the cave ins incredibly thrilling battling with the different creatures in and around the caves, even through this here does come with what is the film's only real flaw here in the laughable special effects here. While it's not the fault of the live-action stock-footage which comes of really well and is integrated nicely into here, but overall there's little else here that works about the sharks. The CGI looks best here where it's not noticeably obvious, but the prop-heads are pretty cheesy-looking, never once betray their rubber nature and always configured into the same position that carries on for each scene that runs itself into the ground by featuring the same thing which really ruins the effect. These here are what hold this one back considerably.

Rated R: Graphic Language, Violence, Brief Nudity and a mild sex scene.

Shark attack 1 was a film that was almost devoid of positive aspects. It had Casper Van Starship Trooper, but that was about it. Not much Shark action, not much gore, not much of anything...

Luckily for folks like me (drunken bald types) Shark Attack 2 UPS the sharks stakes by giving us multiple sharks overdubbed with roaring lions! And very little continuity between the stock footage sharks and the bright blue plastic sharks attacking the cast! And the usual terrible Nu-image half arsed production! Shark Attack two is exponentially more eventful than the first one. You've actually got sharks killing folks, which happened seldom in the first one. You've also got ridiculous dubbing, really bad CGI, terrible (but welcome) gore, and a film so aware of its own crapness that you can't help but enjoy it.

You know what I mean by 'enjoy', don't you?

There is a part where the woman and the "marine boy" are looking for the shark on the boat and it shows the shark swimming away, it was a dolphin not a shark. Lmao this movie is so cheesy!!

I love creature flicks - especially Shark movies ! I had already seen the original "Shark Attack" film and just had to see this follow up ! As direct to video movies go - it ain't that bad - some neat underwater photography and shark attack sequences - The acting is pretty lame but this is not exactly "Oscar" material !Some of the actual shark effects are pretty hilarious - they almost look inflatable and at one point the shark looks like a small "wind up" toy you would play with in the bath ! Overall - not bad for a night in with your mates and a few beers !!

I Can't believe I forgot to put this in the original review, but one of the CHEESIEST parts of this movie is when people are getting ripped apart, yet they are just repeatedly saying "shark" over and over. No fighting back, no screaming for help, just exclaiming the word shark... it's amazing how bad at acting some actors can be.

This was so stupid. Intelligent sharks that swim in schools terrorize a local tourist beach community. Complete with direct rip-0ffs from "Jaws," and combined footage of real sharks with plastic and inflatable toy sharks. Also the shark thinks it's a lion as it growls before and during attacks. People underwater with scuba gear can talk, and scream easily too..Hmmmm..LOL..If you like bad films, you might wanna see how stupid and cheap this is. There is plenty of unintentional humor here. But I cannot give it any better than 1 star. Because that's what it is. A one star mega low budget film. Bad actors. Bad script. Bad director. Bad special effects. But if you hate bad movies, stay away... Truly for lovers of below "B" grade films only.

I couldn't even sit through the whole thing. First off, the killer shark growls like a lion on the prowl. Then there are two little boys playing at the end of a dock and they're talking. The voice of one is dubbed by an adult with a very silly cartoon voice! I couldn't watch it to the end because I was feeling nauseous!

I had to browse through my own user comments in order to double-check whether or not if I saw the original "Shark Attack". I must have deliberately banished it from my memory, because apparently I have seen it and 'rewarded' it with the lowest possible score you can give here on this site, as well as a not-so-praising review. Gradually whilst watching this sequel, my memory started coming back and bits and pieces of that horrible, horrible dud starring Casper Van Dien flashed before my eyes. The good news, however, is that part two is *slightly* better and a hell of a lot more entertaining than the first. "Shark Attack 2" still is a terribly tacky and nonsensical movie (full of atrocious acting, lousy effects, etc…) but the screenplay at least respects the good old formula of numerous shark killings and hot girls in bikini purposelessly parading on sunny beaches! The first film revolved on genetically altered sharks used for the development of a cancer vaccine. Okay …. Boring! Luckily the genetic aspect is just a small footnote in the second film, and the plot mainly follows the story of some people (mega-stereotypes) trying to kill a school of great white sharks before they devour all surfers in Cape Town; South Africa. The unofficial 'leader' of the fierce shark-bunch already escaped from a brand new Sea Life aquarium and ate an employee in front of several kids (haha!) and now he and his ravenous pals are ready to brutally interrupt the annual surfing contest in Cape Town. After some bickering and typical macho contests, one heroic doctor, one dumb Steve Irwin wannabe and one cute but incredibly blond sister of the shark's last victim join forces together and hunt the animals down. All sequences exhibiting the great white sharks are hilarious. They're either borrowed footage from all kind of National Geographic documentaries or, during the actual attack-related scenes, mechanical devices that don't look the least bit convincing. The use of CGI isn't much better, neither. The dialogs and acting performances are arguably the weakest aspect of the film, but it's definitely fun to observe. The hero's heart-breaking story of how he was once the victim of a shark attack and the complementary moral of 'all animals deserve to live' is likely to evoke more laughs than anything else you've ever heard before in any movie. The Steve Irwin bloke is just pitiable, especially because he occasionally forgets he's supposed to talk with an Australian accent. Nikita Ager is unquestionably a ravishing woman, looking like a crossover between Baywatch-babes Pamela Anderson and Erika Elaniak, but she has limited acting skills and the world's most irritating voice. Luckily enough, she just nods most of the time and shows off her very impressive balcony in tight tops and even tighter diving outfits. Quite a large part of the film exists of pure and gratuitous padding footage, presumably to promote the touristy areas of Cape Town (Table Mountain, Camps Bay, The Waterfront…) Nothing wrong with that; I've been there and it truly is one of the most beautiful places on earth.

If you don't take this film seriously (how could you) or as a alternative to jaws you quickly realise its comedy genius.

My advice is to have several drinks with your friends and all watch it together, ideally after a night out.

There are simply to many great lines/moments in the film to list properly. All i'll say is i've shown this film to a lot of my friends and everyone of them has had tears in their eyes on several occasions from laughing so much.

this movie could be called a blatant rip-off of "Jaws 3",at least the beginning of it.however it has an added twist and it's a much better movie.the shark attacks are really bloody and violent in this one,and the are frenetic at times.i'm not sure if this movie is better than the first,but it's still pretty good.again there's lots of action,and the sharks are fear inspiring.the acting is pretty good.the movie is a bit too melodramatic at times and lags once in awhile.even so,it's an entertaining movie with some thrills and some nail biting tension.there are a lot worse movies out there in the genre and in general.if you wanna fill 90 minutes or so,you could do a lot worse,and you may even enjoy it.my vote for "Shark Attack 2" is 7/10

I don't like any of the Shark Attack movies strictly speaking, but I guess they have some novelty value. And this is because they are so appallingly bad, not because they're genuinely funny. Shark Attack 2 is no exception to that. The scenery is good but that's pretty much it. The effects are cheap, the shark has no menace whatsoever and looks ridiculously fake, and the editing slapdash. The script is cheesy, the direction is inept, the story is predictable and the characters are clichéd and lifeless. The awful is awful too, only Thorston Kaye is somewhat credible. Overall, has novelty value but is really a mess of a movie. 1/10 Bethany Cox
