Some characters in the Transformers franchise are somewhat known for switching factions, starting off on one side of the conflict before ending up on another. Likewise, other characters' allegiances change depending on the continuity. Such is the case with one poetic Predacon, who's now returning via the franchise's latest toyline.
Sky-Byte was debuted in a forgotten Transformers anime, and since then, he's been a somewhat recurring character in the franchise. Quick Links Hot Shot Debuted In a Forgotten Transformers Anime Hot Shot Was the Face of the Unicron Trilogy Why a New Transformers Anime Must Bring Back Hot Shot
The Transformers franchise has increasingly used a shrinking list of the same characters, with each new series more or less retreading the same Autobots and Decepticons. Chief among these numbers are Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron and Starscream, with the yellow Autobot Bumblebee becoming something of a mascot for the brand. This wasn't always the case, however, and Bumblebee's place in the franchise was briefly taken by a now-forgotten character.
Hot Shot was prominent in the Unicron Trilogy Transformers anime, and was more of a stand-in for Bumblebee than many fans realize. Throughout the years, many artists who've worked on the Transformers franchise have showcased their artwork online. Now, one such artist is sharing concept art and a manga sketch from two somewhat obscure entries in the series.
One artist has taken to social media to showcase his history with the brand -- namely, two Japanese parts of the Transformers franchise. This includes not only concept art for a forgotten Combiner toy, but also a dark mirror for a heroine from one of the series' anime. That show is about to turn 25 years old, making the occasion all the more fitting.
