Our first official look at the live-action/CGI-animated movie version of Clifford the Big Red Dog has arrived. On the official Twitter account for the upcoming movie, a sneak peek video reveals the giant, red-furred dog as he compares to other normal-sized canines. "This holiday season, we're thankful for the pets who've love got us through the year, but next year, get ready to love even bigger," a narrator says, encouraging fans to share pictures of their pets using the hashtag #LoveBig.

Hard as it is to believe with everything going on right now, but Christmas is only about five weeks away, and the streaming market is already looking crowded. Although Netflix can probably expect to continue their dominance over subscribers through the end of 2020, Amazon Prime are releasing some notable titles for the last month of the year, including original films like I’m Your Woman and new episodes of The Expanse.

In terms of the former, it stars Rachel Brosnahan of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel in a picture about a woman who has to go on the run after her husband gets into trouble with his business partner. DC fans have noticed that Colin Farrell is looking a bit like veteran actor Richard Kind under all of that Penguin makeup in The Batman trailer, leaving some to wonder why director Matt Reeves didn't just cast Kind himself. When Farrell was first announced as the new big screen Oswald Cobblepot, many fans were skeptical, as the True Detective star doesn't have the traditional Penguin look. As we've now seen in the trailer, the workaround was to place him in heavy makeup, but many fans have noticed a resemblance to Kind.

Former HBO president of programming Michael Lombardo is set to join Entertainment One as the company’s new head of television.

He is currently serving as a consultant on project development across all of eOne’ scripted and unscripted programming internationally, and is expected to take over television operations there in the near future.

The role has been empty at eOne since Mark Gordon stepped down as president and chief content officer of film and television last July. He has since transitioned his role with the company into a multi-year overall producing and development deal.

Paramount has shuffled around their release calendar a bit, providing one long-awaited movie with a release date, delaying another and removing one more from its 2019 slate entirely. Starting with the big one, the studio has removed Are You Afraid of the Dark? from this year's calendar. The live-action take on the kid-friendly horror series was originally slated to hit theaters later this year on October 11. Now, the studio has taken it off of the 2019 calendar altogether. They have also added new release dates for the upcoming Rugrats movie and Clifford.

According to a new report, Are You Afraid of the Dark? has not been given a new release date. Does that mean they just need more time to get it ready? Or is there something more going on here? Whatever the case may actually be, it doesn't mean that anyone should panic, or that this movie isn't happening because there's no indication that's the case.

Ray Liotta is in talks to join “The Many Saints Of Newark,” New Line’s prequel to HBO’s “The Sopranos.”

The cast includes Alessandro Nivola, Vera Farmiga, Jon Bernthal, Billy Magnussen, Corey Stoll, and Michael Gandolfini, who will play the Tony Soprano role originated by his late father James Gandolfini. Alan Taylor is directing.

Series creator David Chase co-wrote the script with producer Lawrence Konner. Plot details are under wraps, though some of the characters from the original series will appear in the movie.

Liotta is best known for his portrayal of the gangster Henry Hill in Martin Scorsese’s “Goodfellas.” The news was first reported by Deadline Hollywood.

Exclusive: Dog Man, the canine-human superhero of a popular kids book series by best-selling Captain Underpants author Dav Pilkey, is getting the stage musical treatment. Emmy Award winning duo Kevin Del Aguila and Brad Alexander are on board to write Dog Man: The Musical, with Jen Wineman directing the world premiere staging for the not-for-profit TheaterWorksUSA at an Off Broadway theater this summer.

TheaterWorksUSA, in partnership with Writers House and Scholastic, have secured the rights to adapt the worldwide bestseller for the stage. The announcement was made today by TheaterWorksUSA artistic director Barbara Pasternack and managing director Michael Harrington.

Producers described Dog Man: The Musical as “a hilarious new musical based on the bestselling book series by Captain Underpants creator Dav Pilkey featuring a lovable crime-biting canine who is part dog, part man, and all hero.” The production is designed for children 6 and up.

Fox’s “Deadpool 2” has topped $500 million at the worldwide box office in less than two weeks.

“Deadpool 2” has taken in $218.5 million domestically and another $287 million in international markets, led by $28 million in the U.K. and $27 million in South Korea.

The original “Deadpool” stunned the industry two years ago with a $132.4 million debut weekend, which holds the record for an R-rated title, and went on to finish with $330 million domestically and $420 million internationally. Fox decided in January to open the Ryan Reynolds sequel two weeks earlier to get it into theaters a week ahead of “Solo: A Star Wars Story.”

Amazon Prime Video and PBS Kids are set to launch a "reimagined" version of the animated show, inspired by the Scholastic Entertainment book series by Norman Bridwell, in 2019.

The animated show — which follows Clifford, an oversize red dog, and his best friend, Emily Elizabeth — is currently in production for 39 episodes.

Though Universal first adopted Clifford the Big Red Dog, tentatively placing a big-screen movie on course for release in 2016, Deadline brings word that the giant canine has now found a home at Paramount.

Enlisting screenwriter Justin Malen (Baywatch), it’s understood the rejuvenated feature film will incorporate both CGI and live-action sequences in a manner not dissimilar to Jon Favreau’s The Jungle Book.

A product of celebrated author and cartoonist Norman Bridwell, Clifford the Big Red Dog first roared to life all the way back in the early ’60s, going on to become a fixture of childhoods nationwide through Bridwell’s own novels and the eventual TV adaptations. Now, a bona fide feature film is in the works.

Orbiting around Emily Elizabeth, a pint-sized young girl who grows up in a rural community, Clifford kicks into gear when, inexplicably, Emily’s loveable birthday present grows to be 25 feet tall.

Paramount Pictures has picked up the film rights to the beloved children's book series "Clifford the Big Red Dog" and is developing it as a live-action/CG hybrid feature (ala "The Smurfs," "Garfield").

Justin Malen, who penned the upcoming "Baywatch" film, will adapt the script from the 75-book strong series created by Norman Bridwell in 1963. The story follows the 25-foot-tall canine and his owner, the young Emily Elizabeth, and their misadventures together.

The books were previously adapted into a video series in the 1980s, two television series, and a 2004 animated film. David Bowers ("Astro Boy") was attached to helm this film when it was previously setup at Universal Pictures.

Universal Pictures is developing an adaptation of K.A. Applegate's best selling book series Animorphs. The books were previously adapted into a 1998 TV series entitled Animorphs, which ran for two seasons on Nickelodeon and starred Shawn Ashmore, Boris Cabrera, Brooke Nevin and Paulo Costanzo. Deborah Forte has signed on to produce, although it isn't known how far into development this project is.

The Animorphs books followed a group of teens who come across a crashed alien spaceship. The dying alien grants them each the power to transform into any animal they think of, as they dub themselves the Animorphs. The young teens use these new powers to take on a group of aliens who have invaded our planet in secret, disguised as humans. It isn't known if there is a specific story in the long-running book series that will be used for this adaptation.

Kristen Bell has joined the cast of Universal's upcoming comedy Michelle Darnell.

The actress will begin shooting scenes alongside Melissa McCarthy, Kathy Bates and Peter Dinklage in March, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

McCarthy's husband Ben Falcone is directing the project, while she stars as the title character.

Michelle Darnell is a businesswoman who is sent to prison for insider trading. She finds her plan to transform herself into America's latest sweetheart upon release blocked by her victims, who are not eager to forgive her crimes.

She will be helped by her former assistant, played by Bell, who is a single mother trying to set up a cupcake business.

The movie is being produced by McCarthy and Falcone's On the Day production company, and Will Ferrell and Adam McKay through Gary Sanchez Productions.

Universal Pictures will release Michelle Darnell on April 8, 2016, delaying the debut of Clifford the Big Red Dog.

Henry Jackman and Matthew Margeson score Kingsman: The Secret Service, from 20th Century Fox, a spy action adventure comedy directed by Matthew Vaughn, which debuts in theaters February 13, 2015.

This is the second collaboration between Jackman and Margeson, who had worked previously on Jeff Wadlow’s Kick Ass 2.

The duo have taken on the star-studded Kingsman with Oscar winners Colin Firth and Michael Caine, Oscar nominee Samuel L. Jackson, and newcomer Taron Egerton. Based on a comic book by Mark Millar, the story follows a veteran secret agent (Firth) who takes a young protégé (Egerton) under his wing.

Charren had suffered from vascular dementia in later years, according to media reports. At the time of her death she was living in a Dedham, Massachusetts retirement community with her husband Stanley, who is a retired businessman and engineer.

Norman Bridwell, creator of the beloved children’s book character Clifford the Big Red Dog, has died. He was 86. Scholastic Trade Book Publishing said the author and illustrator died Friday on Martha’s Vineyard.

“Norman Bridwell’s books about Clifford, childhood’s most loveable dog, could only have been written by a gentle man with a great sense of humor,” Scholastic chief Dick Robinson said. “Norman personified the values that we as parents and educators hope to communicate to our children – kindness, compassion, helpfulness, gratitude – through the Clifford stories which have been loved for more than 50 years.”

Bridwell created Clifford in 1963 and went on to publish more than 150 Clifford titles, which have sold a combined 129 million copies and been translated into 13 languages. William Hurt has joined the cast of Focus Features' Jesse Owens biopic Race, with the studio also setting an April 8, 2016 release date. The drama will be going up against Universal Pictures' Clifford the Big Red Dog in April 2016.

Stephan James stars as legendary track star Jesse Owens, who won a record-breaking four gold medals at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, making him one of the greatest track athletes in the world, at the same time Adolf Hitler was trying to create a perfect Aryan race for Germany. William Hurt is playing Jeremiah Maroney, the Amateur Athletic Union president who spearheaded a movement to boycott the 1936 Olympics. Jason Sudeikis, Jeremy Irons, Carice van Houten and Amanda Crew also star.

Stephen Hopkins is directing from a screenplay by Anna Waterhouse and Joe Shrapnel, with production already under way in Montreal. The biopic will also shoot in Berlin's Olympic Stadium, where Jesse Owens made Olympic history.

Another beloved childhood character is heading to the big screen. Universal recently announced that an adaptation of Clifford the Big Red Dog, based on the children’s book series by Norman Bridwell, will be hitting theaters on April 8th, 2016.

Plot details for the film are scarce, but Bridwell’s series centered on a dog named Clifford, born the runt of the litter. When he was given to Emily Elizabeth as a birthday present, the little girl’s love for him caused Clifford to swell in size to a height of over 25 feet. Given the dog’s size, his owner’s family had no choice but to move to the wide open spaces of Bridwell Island, where Clifford encountered new friends like Cleo, Mac and T-Bone. Over 70 installments of the book series, which also spawned a popular PBS Kids TV show, have been released.

We have a few release date changes and announcements to attend to this afternoon. Briefly: 20th Century Fox’s “Untitled Ridley Scott Project” has been confirmed, as The Martian release date has been moved up from March 2016 to November 25, 2015. Director Tim Burton’s next film, Peregrine’s Home for Peculiars, will take over the date previously held by The Martin, as Fox has pushed it to March 4, 2016. Following the success of The Fault in Our Stars, Fox has set the adaptation of another John Green novel, Paper Towns, for release on July 31, 2015. Just one day after Universal Pictures swapped release dates for their Snow White prequel The Huntsman and the Untitled Mummy Reboot, the studio has now announced an April 8, 2016 release date for Clifford The Big Red Dog.

As of now, the live-action/animation hybrid does not have any direct competition in its new release date, but the project sets up Universal to have three consecutive releases in April 2016, with Clifford The Big Red Dog on April 8, The Best Man Wedding on April 15 and The Huntsman on April 22.

No screenwriter or director is attached yet for Clifford The Big Red Dog, which will be produced by Deborah Forte of Scholastic Media, the company that publishes the Clifford children's books.

Following in the footsteps of the recently rebooted "Reading Rainbow," "The Magic School Bus" is the latest beloved children's TV show to get a makeover.

Netflix has acquired the rights to "The Magic School Bus 360°, a computer-animated show in the vein of the '90s original, which followed quirky teacher Ms. Frizzle, who took her students on fantastical journeys -- including through the human body and into space -- using the titular vehicle. The new "School Bus" is set to feature a modernized version of Ms. Frizzle, as well as updated technology, "such as robots or a smart suit worn by the character Carlos that determines his body's vital signs instantly," according to the New York Times.
