Trivia
The choir of Marines was actually the Men's Choir of UCLA (in marine uniforms). The producers had hoped to book the actual Marine Corps choir, but they were unavailable at the time of filming.

Goofs
In the final shot of the opening number with the singing and dancing marines, one of them drops his hat when Pee-wee sings the word "fun", but continues extending his arm back and forth wiggling his hand around as if he's still holding it.

Quotes
Pee-wee: That was Cher! Cher was right over there! In the same room as my chair! I hope I didn't stare! Oh well! I don't care!

Crazy credits
During the end credits, Dinah Shore continues to sing "Twelve Days of Christmas" and after the credits, she asks where Pee-Wee has gone because the mannequin dressed as Pee-Wee does not respond.

The Best Christmas Special Ever!

This is the best christmas special I have ever seen on TV and on VHS! This christmas has handful of special guest stars who are really great people. Pee-wee was hilarious and all the other characters in the playhouse were also funny. Pee-wee Herman is the funniest guy in the world and I wish he could come back and make brand new Pee-wee movies and bring back Pee-wee's Playhouse on the air again.
