The filmmakers of "1408" utilized various locations from around the world to depict different parts of the hotel, including the Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan, New York for its exterior scenes. The Reform Club in London, UK was used for the hotel's initial lobby scene, offering a classic Victorian aesthetic. Scenes filmed in Hermosa Beach, California, feature the Hermosa Beach Post Office and Scotty's on the Strand, as well as the Hermosa Beach Pier and Manhattan Beach Pier in the backdrop. An underwater stage at Pinewood Studios was used for filming the scene where the room fills with water.
1408 makes the best out of its limited hotel room setting, which begs an intriguing question: how much of it was filmed in real locations, and how much of it was artificially created on a soundstage? Based on a short story of the same name, 1408 ranks among some of the best adaptations of Stephen King's works.

Four decades into his career, he now holds the distinction of having earned TV academy notices for guest, lead, and supporting performances.
