We don't see this until the ship runs aground at the mer-people's breeding ground, but her name, painted on a wooden plaque, is "Marie Celeste".

Goofs
Early in the movie just after the ship has set sail from Ireland headed for the U.S., there is a scene that occurs just as the sun is setting in the sky. The problem is that Sun is at the rear of the ship. A westward voyage from Ireland to the U.S. would put the sunset at the front of the ship.

Good Creature Feature

I liked this movie. That's saying alot since I hate most of the modern horror films. I thought this one was very well done. The Mermaid was believable and the period costumes and settings were very good. It's definitely one of the better new horror films. I'd recommend it.
