Not too shabby, but there are better first-person-shooter (FPS) games out there.

If you're into first-person-shooter (FPS) games like Doom, Duke Nukem, or Medal of Honor, then give this one a shot. The gameplay is pretty much the same: shoot everything. In this out-dated game, shoot rednecks. Shoot excrement-flinging aliens. Shoot defenseless animals. Watch them die and explode in gory detail.

The game, being played on the same engine as Duke Nukem 3D, starts off fun. The hero that you move around looks almost like Jim Varney. Whenever he shoots off any type of a weapon (and there's a good selection of them) and blows up a redneck or an alien and watches them die with blood and limbs flying everywhere, he usually cracks a joke.

The graphics and sound are pretty good, but the game goes into a loop. The fun factor begins to fade when the jokes are repeated and some of the levels become too difficult to beat that it takes up too much time. When the forementioned aliens turn up, it gets really gross. Just don't eat and play or you may get sick. Not too shabby, but there are better FPS games out there. My evaluation: 6 out of 10.

    Good game! Hilarious action!

Redneck Rampage is one of the one of the coolest action video games! The characters, the action, and the sure thrill of adventure makes this game a fun non-stop playing time! Below is a brief look how I think the game is!

Game Play: The game play is very good. There is really basic controls here and is easy to perform. Novice gamers should have a good time here!

Graphics: The graphics are wonderful! The backgrounds are really beautiful!

Difficulty: The game is easy but as it goes on you find out that it will become more difficult!

Music: The music is great! Just fantastic catchy tunes through out the game! In My opinion its some of the best music ever in a video game!

Sound: The sound is great. Nuff said!

Overall: I have always loved Redneck Rampage! If you like excellent shoot 'em and adventure games, and more then I strongly recommend you play this game!

Below the level of best build engine games

Redneck Rampage was often called the funniest FPS by many reviews by games magazines during the time of its release. However, when compared to Shadow Warrior, it unfortunately pales and does not live up to the same standard. The strongest thing that this game had at the time was high resolution photo captured textures which sometimes looked good, otherwise out of place. The level design was not so good and there were'nt too many levels in the retail version. The weapon and general animation of enemies, items and weapons were far below the level achieved by Duke3D. Worth checking out once for the humor but it starts to fall in quality as you progress. The game also had a memorable soundtrack by Mojo nixon.
