Leagues better than Burly T.V. or the old GamePro T.V.

Finally, I've found a great T.V. show that deals with one of my favorite hobbies: console video games and their systems as well as PC games. Made and syndicated in Canada, it only took one show to make me want to see this one on a regular basis. Victor Lucas and Tommy Tallarico (a phenom in the early to mid 1990's when it came to providing soundtracks for 16-bit videogames) deliver interviews with game designers and programmers of the hottest games coming out for the PlayStation 2, XBox, Nintendo GameCube, Nintendo GameBoy Advanced, and PC, as well as new equipment and technology coming in the near future. They also do game reviews, and unlike Burly T.V.'s two idiotas, these two actually explain what you need to know about the game and give a detailed opinion of how it plays and if they recommend it. They certainly speak their mind; they're the only one who gave Super Smash Brothers Melee for GameCube a low score when everyone else is praising it. They also have a great website that offers free video footage from their show, news, tips, detailed reviews, and more. All in all, a new show for me to watch regularly; Oh, how I wish I had known about this show sooner.

Fantastic show for gamer's and enthusiasts of all media...

The "Electric Playground" is the quintessential TV show for up to date video game news and coverage. Based in Vancouver, the show offers well thought out reviews for the newest games every week. Through discussion based reviews similar to the Ebert and Roeper show, the audience gets two views on a game from the hosts. Sometimes a shared opinion and sometimes strong differing opinions. Victor Lucas(Creator/Co-Host) and company lay it all on the line by explaining to the viewer the pro's and con's of each game, and if it's worth your time or not. These review segments give out a wealth of information and background on each title within only a few minutes, but is well paced and not overbearing. The 1 to 10 review scale of the show is well designed and makes it clear to the audience how good or bad a particular title is. This show is informative, well produced, and very entertaining for any lover of video games. The "Electric Playground" deserves a wider audience, especially in the United States, since it is already well received by its existing fan base. 10 out 10!
