Judas Priest are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their debut album Rocka Rolla with a newly remixed and remastered edition.

Released in 1974, Rocka Rolla pre-dated Judas Priest’s heavy metal sound and saw the young British band playing a brand of bluesy hard rock with elements of psych and prog. It was recorded on a small budget during cheap overnight studio sessions by the group’s then-lineup of singer Rob Halford, guitarist Glenn Tipton, bassist Ian Hill, guitarist Kk Downing, and drummer John Hinch.
As Halford explained in the press release for the new reissue, the members of Priest were mostly satisfied with their work in the studio, but upon receiving the first pressing of Rocka Rolla,...

Nine's 'True Story with Hamish and Andy'..
At the half-way point of the 2017 ratings year, the Seven, Nine and Ten networks all have something to crow about, and Australian-made dramas and reality shows continue to dominate.
Seven.s primary channel has won the prime-time ratings battle for 24 consecutive weeks, ranks at .No. 1 in total viewers and in the 16-39, 18-49s and 25-54 demographics, and has the year's top show, My Kitchen Rules.
Nine.s boast is that it is the only commercial network to grow its 6 pm-midnight share across total people and all demos for weeks 7 to 26, excluding Easter, while Seven and Ten have lost shares on those metrics.
Despite its corporate problems, Ten says it delivered three of the top seven Australian reality shows among 25 to 54s, the top three game/quiz shows and the top four Us drama series.

As we near the debut of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Sepia Tones my mind races towards those pure gems of the Dark Knight that already exist in the ether of Animatia. Animatia is, of course, the fictitious country where all cartoons come from. Paul Dini is the dictator there – as he should be – and he rules with a dynamically drawn fist. And here, on this wonderful island, sit the tomes that built a generation of Bat-fans. Some (me) would say these tomes were truly the best generation of adaptations and explorations of Batman. I’d like to pontificate, ruminate, and extrapolate to you those episodes of Batman: The Animated Series (and The New Batman Adventures) that truly defined a cartoon legacy.
1 and 2. Two-Face (Parts 1 and 2)
Of all the designs Bruce Timm would bring to light for the Dark Night, it was Two-Face who took the prize in my mind for the most striking.

The 75th anniversary celebration of Batman continues. Many lovers of the recent grim takes on Batman first took an interest in the DC Comics character via a much more lighthearted look: the campy 1960′s Batman TV series that starred Adam West and Burt Ward. The infectiously fun comic book adaptation is coming to Blu-ray, and fans of the cowled crusader should be excited by the special features and collectibles that range from new interviews to vintage trading cards.

You know those incredible looking nature documentaries Best Buy, or any other generic electronics and appliance store, has playing on those huge overpriced HDTVs it's trying to sell? Chances are they're from the BBCs increasingly large selection of superbly filmed series (like Planet Earth or Life) that highlights one aspect or another of the amazing planet we live on. Planet Earth was epic in its undertaking and Life was utterly breathtaking, and now they've gone and done it again with their series Human Planet, which started on April 17th and is running just three more nights on the Discovery Channel at 7pm (until the 24th). If you miss it now, you can buy (or rent) it on DVD and Blu-ray as of the 26th (just two days later), but if you can watch it right now just by turning on the TV...
Before we move on, here's the trailer, just to give you a taste.

What if the popular time travelers of cinema and television history existed on the same timeline? David McCandless created this crazy visualization as part of his upcoming book The Visual Miscellaneum ($18 preorder on Amazon). The chart tracks all the action between 800 Ad and 4000 Ad, and the tracking is color-coded by method of time travel: Alien Technology, Force of Nature, Time Machine, Deep Freeze, or Unknown. McCandless also imagines what possible paradoxes might occur when multiple time travelers converge on the same date. Check out the full chart after the jump.
