Netflix viewers are urging science fiction fans to watch one of the streamer’s most underrated shows. The series, which boasts a perfect score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, is titled Pantheon, and tackles issues such as death, the overreach of technology, and what it means to be human. The animated series has tragically flown under the radar since it began back in 2022, but now, fans of the sci-fi drama are pushing to raise the profile of Pantheon, taking to social media to persuade streamers to add the series to their lists.

X/Twitter user @JasonKPargin started the push, saying, “Go watch Pantheon, the best show on streaming that nobody knows about.” Fellow user and fan @Jimbo_Zen was glad to see the show getting some attention, adding, “Yes! Glad some people are beginning to become aware of this show.”

The NAACP said Thursday that the Wayans family — Keenen Ivory Wayans, Damon Wayans Sr., Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans and Kim Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. — will be inducted into the NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame.

The honor will be bestowed February 22 at the 56th NAACP Image Awards, which will air live on BET and CBS from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.

“For decades, the Wayans family has been at the forefront of comedy, breaking barriers and opening doors for waves of entertainers,” NAACP president and CEO Derrick Johnson said. “Their trailblazing work in television, film, and stand-up has transcended pop culture and cemented their legacy in the NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame. Recognizing their achievements with this induction is a celebration of a multi-generational legacy that continues to advance and uplift communities. Netflix has finally revealed when the second season of an underrated sci-fi drama series will land on the streamer. Titled Pantheon, the adult animation series boasts a perfect score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. The first series was made available on Netflix last November, and fans of the series won’t have to wait too much longer to delve back into this mind-bending tale of consciousness and mortality, as Pantheon Season 2 is now due to land on the streaming platform in February.

Despite hailing from a comedic dynasty with father Damon Wayans — and his siblings Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans and Keenen Wayans, the latter with whom he co-created sketch comedy show In Living Color — Damon Wayans Jr. said he still feels he hasn’t completely clinched his place in show business.

The father-son duo, who are headlining CBS’ new sitcom Poppa’s House, sat down with People to reflect on their family legacy and various programs, including My Wife and Kids, which marked Wayans Jr.’s first TV arc (much to his chagrin at the time).

“He used to make us be in the scenes, he would be like, ‘And you’re gonna be his friend, and you’re gonna be his friend,’ and we were like, ‘Ugh, fine, I’ll go act,'” Wayans Jr. recalled of his father making him and his brother Michael Wayans cameo on the ABC comedy.

Wayans got his start on the live comedy sketch show, and recently spoke with Variety about being fired from the show during Season 11. In the new Peacock docuseries, SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night, Wayans revealed that former SNL star Eddie Murphy, who Wayans had worked with just two years prior in the movie Beverly Hills Cop, offered the comedian advice after he joined the show's cast in 1985:

Eddie’s advice to me was, ‘Write your own sketches. Otherwise they’re going to give you some Black people sh*t to do, and you ain’t gon’ like it.

Comcast’s pay TV subscribers woke up on New Year’s Day with two fewer channels in their programming packages.

On January 1, Comcast removed two Fuse Media-owned channels from their Xfinity TV platform across the country, leaving customers without access to the flagship Fuse channel and music video network FM (Fuse Music).

The companies have a history of being at odds over the distribution of the channels, with Comcast regularly touting the low viewership of Fuse and FM when the networks are dropped. They were last removed from Comcast’s Xfinity TV systems in 2018, only to reappear in 2021 as part of a distribution agreement that also included Fuse Plus, which remains available on Comcast’s X1 and Xumo devices.

Hiram Kasten, a comedian well-known across the New York comedy club circuit and in shows such as Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seinfeld and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, has died. He was 71.

Kasten died in his home in Batavia, New York, after seven years of fighting several illnesses, including prostate cancer and Crohn’s disease, an obituary in his local paper The Batavian reported.

Kasten was a regular comedian at New York’s Comic Strip, where he met then-mc Jerry Seinfeld and the two eventually became friends.

He also made regular appearances at Catch a Rising Star, The Improv, The Comedy Cellar and Caroline’s throughout the 1970s and 1980s. At Dangerfield’s, he ran his own show on Sunday nights for many years.

Variety has the exclusive first look at the launch of the Giving Flowers initiative, a video spot featuring Ralph, Chandra Wilson, Glynn Turman, Emayatzy Corinealdi and Prentice Penny.

John J. York, who has played Mac Scorpio on General Hospital for more than 30 years, took to social media today to explain why he has been on hiatus from the daytime drama.

“So last December, of ’22, I was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome, or Mds, and multiple smoldering myeloma, two blood and bone marrow disorders,” he said in a nearly two-minute video posted on X/Twitter (watch it below). “Over the past many months, I’ve had three bone marrow biopses, many chemo treatments — I have another one coming in a couple of weeks — and I’m closing in on a blood stem-cell transplant.”

The Wayans family might be taking over our TV screens again, this time in a new potential series at CBS. On Oct. 10, Deadline exclusively reported that dream duo Damon Wayans, 62, and his son Damon Wayans Jr., 40, are set to star in an untitled father-son comedy at the network, which now has an official pilot order, per a Feb. 8 update.

According to the outlet, the multicamera sitcom "revolves around legendary talk radio host and happily divorced 'Poppa' (Wayans), who has to drag his grown son (Wayans Jr.), who has all his charm and none of his drive, kicking and screaming into adulthood before he turns 40." It'll be executive produced by the comedy pair, along with former "Last Man Standing" executive producer Kevin Hench, and cowritten by Wayans.

The yet-to-be-titled series marks Wayans's return to network comedy following his wildly successful sitcom "My Wife and Kids.

CBS has announced a pilot order for an untitled father/son project from Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr.

“Legendary talk radio host and happily divorced “Poppa” (Damon Sr.) has his point of view challenged at work when a new female co-host is hired, and at home where he finds himself still parenting his adult son (Damon Jr.), a brilliant dreamer who is trying to pursue his passion while being a responsible father and husband,” reads the multi-camera comedy’s logline.

In addition to starring, Damon Sr. will serve as an executive producer and co-writer with former “Last Man Standing” EP, Kevin Hench. Damon Jr. will star and executive produce. VP of productions, Kameron Tarlow, will oversee the production on behalf of Two Shakes Entertainment. CBS Studios is behind the project.
