Netflix viewers are urging science fiction fans to watch one of the streamer’s most underrated shows. The series, which boasts a perfect score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, is titled Pantheon, and tackles issues such as death, the overreach of technology, and what it means to be human. The animated series has tragically flown under the radar since it began back in 2022, but now, fans of the sci-fi drama are pushing to raise the profile of Pantheon, taking to social media to persuade streamers to add the series to their lists.
X/Twitter user @JasonKPargin started the push, saying, “Go watch Pantheon, the best show on streaming that nobody knows about.” Fellow user and fan @Jimbo_Zen was glad to see the show getting some attention, adding, “Yes! Glad some people are beginning to become aware of this show.”

Despite hailing from a comedic dynasty with father Damon Wayans — and his siblings Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans and Keenen Wayans, the latter with whom he co-created sketch comedy show In Living Color — Damon Wayans Jr. said he still feels he hasn’t completely clinched his place in show business.
The father-son duo, who are headlining CBS’ new sitcom Poppa’s House, sat down with People to reflect on their family legacy and various programs, including My Wife and Kids, which marked Wayans Jr.’s first TV arc (much to his chagrin at the time).
“He used to make us be in the scenes, he would be like, ‘And you’re gonna be his friend, and you’re gonna be his friend,’ and we were like, ‘Ugh, fine, I’ll go act,'” Wayans Jr. recalled of his father making him and his brother Michael Wayans cameo on the ABC comedy.

Actor and comedian Damon Wayans has revealed how he purposely got fired from Saturday Night Live. Wayans got his start on the live comedy sketch show, and recently spoke with Variety about being fired from the show during Season 11. In the new Peacock docuseries, SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night, Wayans revealed that former SNL star Eddie Murphy, who Wayans had worked with just two years prior in the movie Beverly Hills Cop, offered the comedian advice after he joined the show's cast in 1985:
Eddie’s advice to me was, ‘Write your own sketches. Otherwise they’re going to give you some Black people sh*t to do, and you ain’t gon’ like it.
This advice would prove sound, as Wayans found himself written into other sketches, often cast in stereotypical or offensive roles. The comedian grew frustrated as his ideas were repeatedly scrapped or "cut for time" by the writers and producers,...

Comcast’s pay TV subscribers woke up on New Year’s Day with two fewer channels in their programming packages.
On January 1, Comcast removed two Fuse Media-owned channels from their Xfinity TV platform across the country, leaving customers without access to the flagship Fuse channel and music video network FM (Fuse Music).
The companies have a history of being at odds over the distribution of the channels, with Comcast regularly touting the low viewership of Fuse and FM when the networks are dropped. They were last removed from Comcast’s Xfinity TV systems in 2018, only to reappear in 2021 as part of a distribution agreement that also included Fuse Plus, which remains available on Comcast’s X1 and Xumo devices.

For years, Kevin Hart has long been one of Hollywood’s most beloved comedians, known for his stand-up, acting roles, and massive social media presence. With the star even teaming up with Chris Rock for his latest documentary, Kevin Hart & Chris Rock: Headliners Only, the 45-year-old once again made waves. However, in recent months, another celebrity has let loose a strange theory online, claiming that the comedian is actually an “industry plant.” The term is typically reserved for musicians who are allegedly groomed by major labels for success.

Disney’s long-expected move to fold ABC Signature into 20th Television brings to an end the media conglom’s in-house TV studio, which started off as Touchstone Television a decade before Disney bought ABC, subsequently being renamed ABC Studios and more recently ABC Signature.
Launched in 1985, Touchstone TV’s first major hit was Golden Girls, which ran on NBC for seven seasons. Other successful series from that era include Blossom, also for NBC, and Home Improvement, Ellen and Boy Meets World for ABC.
In the first years after ABC became part of Disney, Touchstone Television continued to sell to all networks — which is how 20th Television operated for its entire run at Fox — with shows such as Felicity and Popular for the WB and The PJs for Fox/WB.

The ties that bind bring father-son funnymen Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. together for Poppa’s House, a sitcom that’s legitimately close to home. “I’m with him all the time, sans the entertainment aspect, so we get along like brothers — unless I’m in trouble,” laughs the younger Wayans. The two have worked together before — Senior guest starred on Junior’s Happy Endings and Happy Together, while Junior was a writer and guest star on dad’s My Wife and Kids — but this is the first time they have headlined a series together. “We just thought this was the perfect story to put our talents in,” continues Wayans Jr. of the multi-camera comedy, in which the elder Wayans stars as “Poppa,” a longtime, no-holds-barred radio host living next door to his aspiring-director son Damon (Wayans Jr.), daughter-in-law Nina and their two kids. He also made regular appearances at Catch a Rising Star, The Improv, The Comedy Cellar and Caroline’s throughout the 1970s and 1980s. At Dangerfield’s, he ran his own show on Sunday nights for many years.

My Wife And Kids ended due to falling ratings and competition with American Idol that damaged ABC's Tuesday night comedies. Despite My Wife And Kids ending on a cliffhanger in season 5, ABC canceled the show, leaving fans without closure. Damon Wayans believed the sitcom was renewed for a sixth season, blaming money and corporate agendas for why it didn't continue.
My Wife And Kids ran for five successful seasons between 2001 and 2005, but why did My Wife And Kids end before season 6? Created by Damon Wayans and Don Reo, ABC’s My Wife And Kids was one of the longest-running Black American sitcoms of the early 2000s. Wayans starred as Michael Kyle, the patriarch of an upper-middle-class black family living in Stamford, Connecticut with his wife Jay, played by Tisha Campbell-Martin. The show focused on the couple and their three children.

My Wife and Kids had a strong debut on Netflix, ranking 7th in Top 10 TV shows in the U.S. The sitcom aired on ABC from 2001 to 2005. In 2005, the show was likely cancelled due to declining ratings as ABC officials felt it had "played itself out."
After premiering over two decades ago, My Wife and Kids has been climbing the charts on Netflix. Airing on ABC from 2001 to 2005, by co-creators Damon Wayans and Don Reo, My Wife and Kids focuses on the quest of Michael Kyle (Wayans) for the perfect traditional family — though his wife and kids have other ideas. The sitcom ran for 5 seasons and 123 episodes, with the My Wife and Kids cast that also included Tisha Campbell-Martin, George O. Gore II, Jazz Raycole, Parker McKenna Posey, Jennifer Nicole Freeman, Noah Gray-Cabey, and Brooklyn Sudano.

You’d be excused if you didn’t notice that Netflix recently added the forgotten sitcom My Wife and Kids to its servers. With the labor stoppages over and TV back up and running once again, streaming services are pushing full steam ahead to get regularly scheduled programming back on the market. It doesn’t seem like there would be any room for a show more known for its Nick at Nite run than its original broadcast on ABC, but anyone who ignores the Damon Wayans-centered sitcom is missing out on one of the funniest, most chaotic comedies of the 2000s.
At first glance, My Wife and Kids looks like your typical comedian vehicle from around this time period. So many stand-up comics got their own network sitcom that the genre turned into TV junk food during the late 20th century. Everybody Loves Raymond, Home Improvement, The King of Queens,...

The hit ABC sitcom My Wife and Kids is back in the conversation after appearing on Netflix, leaving fans wondering why series mainstay Claire was recast all over again.
My Wife and Kids aired on ABC from 2001 to 2004, running for five seasons and bringing 123 episodes to the screen.
While the series is known for its leading stars Damon Wayans and Tisha Campbell-Martin (who played a mother and father with three kids), much of the attention within the show's cast gets put on Claire Kyle, the middle daughter of the Kyle family who was recast early on.

A big-budget live-action adaptation of a cult Nickelodeon animated fantasy series, the return of a sports docuseries that transformed the global appeal of Formula 1, a new animated feature written by the incomparable Charlie Kaufman, and another season of a reality dating show that inspires equal parts love and hate on social media are among the standout projects hitting Netflix in February.
Netflix’s big feature release this month is the animated film Orion and the Dark, which debuts Feb. 2. It’s a weird month on Netflix in February; one that will probably require you to be open-minded about the shows and movies you’re willing to consume on the service.
There are quite a few library TV series arriving this month, for example. If you’re ready to start binge-watching Monk, My Wife and Kids, or acclaimed show Warrior, you’re in luck, as those complete seasons will be available. The Blacklist season 10, Curb Your Enthusiasm season 12, Brooklyn Nine-Nine seasons 1-4, and Young Sheldon season 6 will also be hitting the ‘Flix.
In terms of what’s new, there’s a ton of foreign language content and true crime stuff, but original English language stuff will largely be unscripted fare like Love is Blind, which is back for a new season. There are a few bits and bobs on the way outside of that, though. Netflix’s animated movie Orion and the Dark will debut,...

Disney will get some much-needed cash from a licensing deal that will send more titles to Netflix, which conversely has no interest in licensing out its own shows.

Disney is bringing all past seasons of “Grey’s Anatomy” to Hulu — while they will remain on Netflix — coinciding with the official launch of Hulu on Disney+ in March 2024.
Starting in the spring 2024, Hulu and Netflix will share the co-exclusive U.S. streaming rights to all prior 19 seasons of “Grey’s Anatomy” as part of a new licensing deal between Disney Entertainment and Netflix. Only Hulu will have the complete series as new in-season episodes from the upcoming Season 20 of the hit show will be available to stream (after they air on ABC) along with the 19 previous seasons. “Grey’s Anatomy,” the longest-running medical drama on primetime TV, is created by Shonda Rhimes and produced by ABC Signature, a part of Disney Television Studios, and Shondaland.
The “Grey’s Anatomy” expansion on Hulu is part of a proposed short-term U.S. content agreement under which Disney Entertainment will license 14 library series to Netflix on a nonexclusive basis.

A new version of the sports comedy The Longest Yard is in the works, following the original film starring Burt Reynolds and a 2005 remake with Adam Sandler. Rodney Barnes will write the script for the new adaptation. Burt Reynolds, who starred in the first version, passed away in 2018, and it is uncertain if Sandler will be involved in the upcoming remake.
A new version of the sports comedy The Longest Yard is on its way, almost 50 years after the original starring Burt Reynolds, and almost 20 years after the most recent effort led by Adam Sandler. In 1974, when he had already become a major Hollywood star, Burt Reynolds starred in the first version of The Longest Yard, a sports comedy centered on a successful NFL player named Paul "Wrecking" Crewe, who must serve a prison sentence after confronting some police officers in a chase. John J. York, who has played Mac Scorpio on General Hospital for more than 30 years, took to social media today to explain why he has been on hiatus from the daytime drama.
“So last December, of ’22, I was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome, or Mds, and multiple smoldering myeloma, two blood and bone marrow disorders,” he said in a nearly two-minute video posted on X/Twitter (watch it below). “Over the past many months, I’ve had three bone marrow biopses, many chemo treatments — I have another one coming in a couple of weeks — and I’m closing in on a blood stem-cell transplant.”
York, who tweeted last week that he “will be taking a brief hiatus from the show in a few weeks,” also spoke directly to viewers about their possibly becoming a bone marrow donor for him or “thousands of others.” He directed folks to bethematch.org/matchformac.

Juneteenth, which falls on June 19, commemorates the fall of slavery in the United States.
It celebrates the anniversary of the order made by Major General Gordon Granger on June 1965 that proclaimed freedom for slaves in Texas. The order was actually made two years after Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation.
In a tweet Monday, former President Obama explained it as the “delayed but welcome news of freedom reaching the enslaved Black folks in Galveston, Texas.” In 2021, President Biden made Juneteenth a federal holiday.
Many networks are marking the occasion with Juneteenth TV specials or movie marathons showcasing Black talent and/or excellence. See our viewing guide below:

My Wife and Kids was an immensely popular sitcom in the early 2000s, but what has the cast been doing since the show went off the air? Debuting in 2001, My Wife and Kids told the story of the Kyle family, and the hilarious chaos surrounding their day-to-day suburban lives. The cast was headed up by co-creator Damon Wayans, and throughout its five seasons, My Wife and Kids was a consistent hit. Even if most of the main cast members weren't household names at the time, many of them went on to bigger and better things after the series went off the air.
Besides Wayans, veteran actor Tisha Campbell-Martin brought her years of experience to the project and helped to elevate it above the endless number of other sitcoms that clogged the airwaves at the time. As is the case with most sitcoms, the cast was a strong mix of youth and experience,...

The Wayans family might be taking over our TV screens again, this time in a new potential series at CBS. On Oct. 10, Deadline exclusively reported that dream duo Damon Wayans, 62, and his son Damon Wayans Jr., 40, are set to star in an untitled father-son comedy at the network, which now has an official pilot order, per a Feb. 8 update.
According to the outlet, the multicamera sitcom "revolves around legendary talk radio host and happily divorced 'Poppa' (Wayans), who has to drag his grown son (Wayans Jr.), who has all his charm and none of his drive, kicking and screaming into adulthood before he turns 40." It'll be executive produced by the comedy pair, along with former "Last Man Standing" executive producer Kevin Hench, and cowritten by Wayans.
The yet-to-be-titled series marks Wayans's return to network comedy following his wildly successful sitcom "My Wife and Kids.
