Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot’s “Wonder Woman” reunion will have to wait.
Jenkins has relinquished directing duties for “Cleopatra,” a historical drama featuring Gadot as the legendary queen of Egypt. Kari Skogland, who recently directed Marvel’s TV series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” is taking over filmmaking duties.
Jenkins isn’t departing the project entirely. She will remain involved in a producing role as she pivots attention to her next two projects, “Wonder Woman 3” for Warner Bros. and “Star Wars: Rogue Squadron” for Disney and Lucasfilm.
Paramount Pictures is backing “Cleopatra,” which remains in development stages at the studio. Paramount won the rights to the project last year, reportedly beating out Apple, Universal, Warner Bros. and Netflix.
Skogland first came to attention with independent films such as “The Size of Watermelons” and “Men With Guns,” and went on to direct the 2008 crime thriller “Fifty Dead Men Walking,...

The Sanjay Dutt starrer Knock Out which was locked in a copyright battle with 20th Century Fox has suffered a serious blow with the High Court ruling in favour of 20th Century Fox, thereby putting Mani Shankar into a position of deep embarrassment at a time when he has just completed a very successful stint with Gujarat's chief minister Narendra Modi in using the holograph 3D technique to project Modi's life-like image on stage in several cities of Gujarat simultaneously during the recent election campaigning. So impressed is Narendra Modi by Mani Shankar's technological panache that the Gujarat Cm tweeted, "Gujarat Election Campaign 2012 becomes even more memorable with the 3D interaction creating a Guinness World Record." Says Mani Shankar, "In truth those were the most challenging 14 days of my life with a 1200-men team spread over 53 locations. Over 100 checklists had to be got right in each location, a fresh crisis every hour,...

Big one hits at NBC with '10.5'
NBC has given the green light to 10.5, a four-hour miniseries about a deadly earthquake hitting the West Coast. The plot of the mini, from Jaffe/Braunstein Films and Pearl Pictures, centers on a gifted female seismologist at the University of Washington. When an earthquake in the Northwest triggers a series of shakes of increasing magnitude, she warns that the quakes are interrelated, a likely precursor to a big one, but her theory is met with skepticism. She is proven right as the tremors get worse and massive evacuations as well as a plan to use nuclear warheads are put into action. John Lafia (Man's Best Friend), Ronnie Christensen and Walker, Texas Ranger creator Christopher Canaan penned the script for the mini, which Lafia will direct. Gary Pearl (Liberty Stands Still) is executive producing the project, with Michael Jaffe and Howard Braunstein (NBC's Martha, Inc.: The Story of Martha Stewart) co-executive producing. Filming is scheduled to begin in June in Vancouver.
