Rumored to be titled Remain, the supernatural romance thriller is based on a story Shyamalan co-created with bestselling novelist Nicholas Sparks.

Plot details are being kept under wraps per usual, but Shyamalan and Sparks are independently writing a screenplay and a novel, respectively. Both projects are based on the same concept and set of characters but tailored to their respective mediums.

Shyamalan and Ashwin Rajan will produce for Blinding Edge Pictures alongside Sparks’ longtime producing partner Theresa Park and Marc Bienstock. Sparks serves as executive producer.

Warner Bros., who has a first-look deal with Blinding Edge and put out Shyamalan’s Trap last year, is in discussions to distribute.

Amazon is trying to clear the air after Mandy Moore said the company delivered a package to her in-laws’ home, which was lost in the L.A. wildfires.

Earlier this week, the This Is Us star posted a photo on her Instagram Story of the package Amazon delivered to the demolished home with the text: “Do better, Amazon. Can we not have better discretion than to leave a package at a residence that no longer exists? This is my mother and father in law’s home.”

Amazon has since apologized to the actress and is trying to figure out what happened, according to a statement sent to NBC News.

“Those who deliver on our behalf have been advised to use discretion in areas impacted by wildfires — especially if it involves delivering to a damaged home — that clearly didn’t happen here,” Amazon spokesperson Steve Kelly shared.

Moore also lost her own home to the fires.

Here’s a slightly unusual bit of news for you. Months after the release of his latest opus, Trap, M Night Shyamalan is about to make another thriller, this time starring Jake Gyllenhaal. Nothing too unusual about that, you might think. But in a cross-media twist, the project will involve Shyamalan writing the screenplay and Nicholas Sparks – independently, we might add – writing the novel.

According to Deadline, which has the exclusive, the project is a ‘supernatural romantic thriller’, and both Shyamalan and Sparks will base their respective works on the same ‘original love story’.

Moore’s brother-in-law, Griffin Goldsmith, said via an Instagram post that Duff and Koma also helped to launch a GoFundMe for Goldsmith’s family after they lost everything in the L.A. fires. After movies like Violent Night, Fat Man and the recent Red One, you’d think Santa movies with an action twist had reached their limit. However, the action icon, Arnold Schwarzenegger, now suits up to play Kris Kringle for the comedy The Man With the Bag, which also stars Alan Ritchson. The concept is similar to Red One, except this time, Santa loses his bag of presents and enlists a former thief to get it back. Adam Shankman directs The Man With The Bag from a script by Allan Rice. The holiday-themed project hails from Amazon MGM Studios.

Roland Emmerich isn't a man youd typically associate with heartfelt, grounded storytelling, as his career is best known for bombastic blockbusters like Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow. However, Emmerich stepped into new territory with Midway, an ambitious World War II drama that aimed to pay tribute to the troops while recreating one of historys most pivotal, and perhaps lesser-known, battles. The movie features an impressive ensemble cast including the likes of Dennis Quaid (Reagan), Woody Harrelson (Natural Born Killers), Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring), Mandy Moore (A Walk to Remember), Luke Evans (Beauty and the Beast), Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight) and Ed Skrein (Deadpool).

In the last thirteen months, we’ve seen two different time travel slashers, Totally Killer and Time Cut, get streaming service releases. Now, Deadline reports that Alliance Media Partners is representing the world sales rights for a time travel supernatural thriller called You Don’t Belong Here at the American Film Market, which is currently going on in Las Vegas. Totally Killer starred Kiernan Shipka from the Netflix series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Time Cut starred Madison Bailey from the Netflix series Outer Banks and Antonia Gentry from the Netflix series Ginny & Georgia, so it seems fitting that the lead role in You Don’t Belong Here went to another Netflix star – Nikki Roumel, who co-stars with Gentry on Ginny & Georgia.

Exclusive: Alliance Media Partners (Amp) had taken world sales rights on the supernatural thriller You Don’t Belong Here from filmmaker Chris McGowan.

Amp will be selling the film AFM in Las Vegas.

The film follows a group of amateur crime solvers as they take a trip to an infamous campsite to investigate an unsolved murder. When the group wakes up the next morning, they find themselves in 1991, days before the murder took place, with a mysterious killer on the loose.

The film stars Nikki Roumel (Ginny & Georgia), Shane Weat (A Walk to Remember), Cameron Cowperthwaite (Fallout), Chibuikem Uche (One Of Us Is Lying), Destiny Hernandez (Chicago Med), Ilirida Memedovski (Perpetrator), Major Curda (Riverdale), and Samuel Roukin (Turn).

Alan Ritchson will star in a new Nicholas Sparks movie adaptation. Ritchson is best known for playing the title role in the Reacher cast, leading the Prime Video Lee Child television adaptation as the imposing Jack Reacher, an ex-military drifter with a heart of gold. Sparks is an author of romantic drama novels who has had many of his works adapted to the screen, including A Walk to Remember, The Notebook, Nights in Rodanthe, and The Longest Ride. Collectively, his movies have earned more than $800 million at the box office worldwide.

Per Variety, Sparks' latest novel Counting Miracles, which was published on September 24, 2024, is being adapted into a movie by Amazon MGM Studios. Ritchson will play the lead romantic role in the Nicholas Sparks movie in addition to producing via AllyCat Entertainment alongside Theresa Park, Industry Entertainment's Dan Spilo, and Di Novi Pictures Denise Di Novi and Margaret French Isaac.

Actress Mandy Moore is a mother of three! The This Is Us star took to Instagram today to announce the birth of her third baby with her husband Taylor Goldsmith. “Endlessly grateful for our family of 5.”

The actress and musician announced in May that they were growing their family and revealed at the time that they were expecting a girl. The couple’s daughter arrived “right in time for Virgo season” and they chose to name her Louise Everett Goldsmith. The Dr. Death star also referred to her daughter with the nickname Lou. Of her daughter’s birth, Mandy wrote that Louise “arrived happy, healthy, expeditiously” and added, “She is our absolute dream girl and her big brothers are already as obsessed with her as we are.”

It's a bummer every single month, but a handful of fan-favorite movies leave Netflix at the end of the month before a new collection of movies arrives the following month. In September, a number of popular movies are leaving Netflix, including two throwbacks and two beloved trilogies.

This month already saw a large number of unfortunate removals from Netflix, including a handful of complete series fans love to watch. The CW's Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, iZombie, and Jane the Virgin have already departed and soon Great News, Good Witch, and How to Get Away with Murder will join them in the final week of the month.

The 2004 romantic drama The Notebook tells the decades-long love story of Allie Hamilton and Noah Calhoun, which was inspired by a true story. The Notebook depicts the meeting of young Allie (Rachel McAdams) and Noah (Ryan Gosling), their relationship, and how they find each other again in old age when Noah (James Garner) visits Allie (Gena Rowlands) in a home where she is living with dementia. A hit at the box office and known for its emotional ending, The Notebook solidified its young cast members as romantic leads, and it was Nicholas Sparks's second movie and first published novel.

McAdams and Gosling starred in The Notebook early in their careers, with the former playing Regina George in Mean Girls the same year and the latter breaking out as a result of this adaptation. Previously, Gosling did Are You Afraid of the Dark? and other TV series such as Goosebumps and Breaker High.

Youthful love (relatively speaking) beset by terminal illness and heartbreak is well-worn cinematic and literary territory. Examples include “The Fault In Our Stars” (Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort), “A Walk To Remember” (Mandy Moore and Shane West), “Sweet November” (Charlize Theron and Keanu Reeves), “P.S., I Love You” (Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler), even the classic Oscar-winning “Love Story” (Ali MacGraw and Ryan O’Neal).

Each month, the streaming service removes various movies and TV shows for a variety of reasons. In September, they’ll be removing several CW hits including all five seasons of Jane the Virgin, Dune, all six seasons of How to Get Away with Murder, all three Fifty Shades movies (despite them just becoming available in June and July), the Divergent films, two Conjuring movies, and more.

That's what happened with legendary film producer Denise Di Novi, who is having her first gallery show after four years of painting. "I never had any history of painting at all. I mean, I've been a creative person all my life, and my parents are creative. My dad's a jazz musician.
