In "Snatch," things aren't looking good for bare-knuckle boxing promoter Turkish (Jason Statham) when he loses his fighter to an injury and wants to switch him out for "One Punch" Mickey O'Neil (Brad Pitt). The news doesn't go down well with violent pig-obsessed crime lord Brick Top (Alan Ford), who stands to lose a lot of money from the bets that've already been placed. "I don't care if he's Muhammad 'I'm hard' Bruce Lee. You can't change fighters!" he protests.

Jason Statham has given us some amazing action movies and continues to entertain us by working with some of the acclaimed directors like Guy Ritchie, David Ayer, Doug Liman, Justin Lin, among many others and has emerged as face of many action-oriented franchises like The Expendables, Transporter movies as well as playing a part in Fast and Furious franchise. Jason Statham has fashioned himself as one of the most prominent action stars working today. Following his feature film debut in 1998 with Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, Statham has worked with notable action directors such as Guy Ritchie several times. He has become the face of several franchises, including the Transporter movies, the Crank films, and as an ensemble member in The Expendables franchise. He has also acted as Deckard Shaw in the Fast and Furious franchise.
Statham's films tend to do well at the box office. As a leading actor, his films have made over $1.9 billion collectively, and he tacks on over $4 billion if one counts his work as a lead ensemble member. Several of his highest-grossing films include Fast and Furious movies along with The Meg, which made $527 million. Game of Thrones has had a couple of recasts done throughout its run, and one of the most noticeable was the change of Daario Naharis actor. The part was originally played by Ed Skrein in the third season, but in the next installment, fans welcomed a new face.

It was said that conflict of schedule was the culprit behind the issue since the actor was set to star as the younger version of Jason Statham’s character in The Transporter Refueled. However, he clarified that it went beyond this reason.

Hollywood has no shortage of hardcore action heroes and has employed the talents of innumerable action stars over the course of its existence. Yet, the British actor Jason Statham is a notch different from the rest and has today made a name for himself for his violent and gritty characters in a range of action thrillers.

However, before he ended up becoming one of Hollywood’s most bankable action stars, Statham had a shocking side hustle that eventually opened the door to Tinseltown. Having grown up in a humble background, far from the glitz and glamour of the world, if it wasn’t for this side hustle, the actor would have never been cast in his first-ever acting project, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

Jason Statham has been an icon for the action genre for decades now. While his most formative films were in the early 2000s, his fans have been waiting for something significant for years now. While Wrath of Man did come close, it did not possess the same essence that made his films so enjoyable.

This pattern persisted until The Beekeeper buzzed into the picture. The film easily entered the same category as classics like The Transporter yet stood out in the best ways possible. Having been directed by the creator of 2016’s Suicide Squad, it is not surprising that the film’s fast-paced action has led it on the path of a sequel.
However, it would seem that David Ayer has been replaced with another director, and the decision could make the series a lot more bloody.

Finland’s leading commercial broadcaster MTV, commissioner of TV hits “Conflict” (sold by Keshet Intl.) and “Helsinki Crimes” (distributed by Oble Ent.), is betting on fewer but bigger dramas and ramping up its international co-productions within the Nordics and beyond
Its revamped strategy should not be affected by its upcoming change of ownership – from Telia to Schibsted Media – according to CEO Johannes Leppänen: “MTV has a strong position in the Finnish market and Schibsted Media is looking forward to supporting MTV’s leading position also within drama into the future,” he told Variety.
The Finnish broadcaster’s revamped drama order and outward push was initiated a year and a half ago, but will be gearing up to a new level in 2025. “We have around 10 co-production projects in our pipeline and hope to greenlight some of them before the summer, then the next stop is New Year,” said Janne Vakio, MTV commissions and content development manager.

The Transporter series introduced everyone’s favorite action hero, Jason Statham, and one of the sequels in the fan-favorite series is all set to stream for free. Released back in 2008, Transporter 3 was panned upon release (earning just 40% from critics and 48% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes) but nonetheless boasts the flair for fist-fighting that The Stath fans have come to know and love.
Directed by Olivier Megaton and written by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen, Transporter 3 finds Statham’s expert driver and courier paired with Valentina (Natalya Rudakova), the cynical daughter of a Ukrainian official. Now, Frank must use his particular set of skills to both guard his new charge, and himself, because if they wander too far from his beloved car...they’ll explode. Transporter 3 is now due to land on free streaming platform Tubi from March 1, 2025.

Jason Statham’s next action-packed thriller Mutiny is officially on the move. Lionsgate has locked in a January 9, 2026 release date for the film, giving the Transporter star another high-octane project to kick off the new year. Statham loves beginning each year with some pulsating action, it would seem, and this marks the third year in a row that he will bring in the new year with putting some bad guys in the hospital, following The Beekeeper's release last January, A Working Man next month, and now, Mutiny.

For over two sensational decades, beloved Hollywood leading man and bona fide action superstar Jason Statham has been thrilling moviegoers all across the world with his dazzling physical prowess and undeniable charm. In 2013, he continued his silver screen takeover when he starred in the taut action film Homefront, in which he appears as a retired DEA agent who moves to a remote Louisiana town with his young daughter to start a new life, only to have his checkered past catch up with him and cause more trouble.
With a stellar cast of fellow cinema greats including James Franco, Winona Ryder, and Frank Grillo, the criminally-underrated thriller performed solidly at the box office but nonetheless failed to achieve the recognition (or Rotten Tomatoes score) it rightfully deserved. In Michael Mann's "Collateral," Los Angeles cab driver Max Durocher (Jamie Foxx) spends his nights picking up and dropping off customers across the bustling city. Mann hones in on the vivid texture of the city at night, the subtle beauty of the busy neon-lit streets, and the eerie silence that fills up the cramped, empty alleyways. Something ominous seems to be lurking beneath the lull of everyday mundanities, and this sentiment manifests in the form of Vincent (Tom Cruise), a hitman who takes Max hostage after boarding his cab as a customer. A game of tense cat-and-mouse follows ... but an odd incident occurs even before Vincent boards Max's cab and terrorizes the man to no end.
When Vincent arrives at the airport in the film's opening, he bumps into a man who hands him a bag. This man, played by none other than Jason Statham, is credited solely as "Airport Man,...

Remember When Game Of Thrones Recast Daario Naharis? (Photo Credit – Facebook)
Do you remember the Game of Thrones recast that really threw fans? Daario Naharis. The suave sellsword first appeared in season 3, played by Ed Skrein. But by season 4, he was suddenly… different. Enter Michiel Huisman. No in-universe explanation, no transition, just a whole new Daario. Confused? So was everyone else.
Rumors swirled that Skrein left Game of Thrones for The Transporter Refueled, but the actor shut that down. “That’s what’s been reported, but it was a lot more political than that,” he said per Screenrant. “My plan was to stay with Game of Thrones for the long haul. That was always my plan.” So what happened? HBO never gave an official reason, and Skrein didn’t elaborate. But clearly, it wasn’t his choice.
When Huisman stepped in, Daario went from long-haired and clean-shaven to short-haired and bearded.

In the mid-2000s, you could be forgiven for thinking action films had gotten a little stale. The genre tends to go in waves; whenever something hits in a big way, you get derivative, increasingly stale copies. Think about all the Die Hard rip-offs or the way every movie tried to copy The Matrix with bullet time and wire-work post-1999. Heck, we’re experiencing it right now with superhero movies and John Wick clones. Whenever this happens, it’s more-or-less left to international cinema to come along and shake us up with something different, done far outside the mainstream, to revitalize the genre. That happened in 2004, when a small movie from France, District 13, introduced Parkour to mainstream audiences.
So, what’s Parkour? Think of it as free running in an urban setting mixed with acrobatics and martial arts. It was founded by the star of District 13, David Belle, a Parisian...

Jason Statham has starred in some of the best action movies ever made, as well as some of the worst video game flops of all time. Through these highs and lows, the actor has probably gained plenty of wisdom, but he's also experienced some regrets. While speaking to Metro back in 2012, the "Crank" star revealed that he wishes that he wasn't synonymous with doing his own stunts, as it became expected he would always perform them. As he put it:
"I did 'Transporter' with Luc Besson and I ended up doing pretty much everything. So, from that day forth, it was a slippery slope to try and change things -- until I couldn't."
While Statham is still alive and well to share his stories, there are some stunts he wishes that he didn't do due to how dangerous and potentially life-ending they were. The actor hasn't come out...

Jason Statham is a well-known veteran of the action genre. Having made his film debut back in 1998 with Guy Ritchie's Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels as the con man, Bacon, Statham has, since then, gone on to star in a plethora of roles which have made him a true action hero. Although much of Statham's acclaimed work has seen the actor in primarily action-centered roles, such as the widely popular Transporter franchise and more recent films, including The Beekeeper and Wrath of Man, Statham has also dabbled in projects that combine action with science fiction.
The 2018 science fiction action film The Meg is one such project. Directed by Jon Turteltaub and loosely finding inspiration from the 1997 novel, 'Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror' authored by Steve Alten, the film is regarded by many viewers as being truly bonkers. Louis Leterrier has directed the action films The Transporter, Transporter 2, Unleashed, and Fast X, the action comedies The Brothers Grimsby and The Takedown, the mystery thriller Now You See Me, the fantasy adventure Clash of the Titans, and the comic book adaptation The Incredible Hulk (not to mention the TV shows The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance and Lupin), and over the decades his films have racked up $2 billion at the box office. Last May, we learned that he’ll be directing and producing the film 11817, working from a screenplay by Matthew Robinson (The Invention of Lying), which will see him venturing into the sci-fi horror realm. That same month, it was announced that Kingsley Ben-Adir (Bob Marley: One Love) and Greta Lee (Past Lives) would be starring in the film… but now it looks like Ben-Adir has had to drop out, with Wagner Moura (Civil War) stepping in as his replacement.

Two former A24 stars have been cast in Louis Leterrier's new thriller 11817. Leterrier is a French-born director known for his work in the action film sector. He made his directorial feature debut in 2002 with the action film The Transporter. He would go on to direct the sequel to that Jason Statham-led franchse. In 2023, Leterrier made his foray into a major existing IP, the Fast and Furious franchise, when he directed Fast X, an installment that saw him re-team with Statham and work with other major stars such as Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Vin Diesel, and Charlize Theron.
As per Deadline, Leterrier's next movie 11817 has cast its two main stars. These actors will be Greta Lee and Wagner Moura.

Director Louis Leterrier (The Transporter, Fast X, “The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance”) has tapped Greta Lee (Past Lives) and Wagner Moura (Civil War) to star in his upcoming sci-fi horror movie 11817, and Deadline also lets us know that Netflix has picked up the project.
The film is said to be a “high concept” genre movie.
Deadline details, “The film follows a family of four who are suddenly sealed inside their home with no way out, and they must work to survive against both their dwindling resources and the mysterious, looming threat that is keeping them trapped.”
Matthew Robinson (The Invention of Lying) wrote the screenplay.
“Directing projects where the audience gets behind the characters has always been my focus. However complex, flawed, heroic, we identify with them as we live through their journey,” Leterrier recently said. “It’s what excites me about 11817‘s wholly original concept and the...

Having appeared in major franchises such as The Expendables, The Transporter, and Fast & Furious, Jason Statham is one of the most iconic action stars around, and his upcoming film looks extremely exciting after his $153 million hit from last year. Statham's ability to combine comedy and action over the decades made him a huge name in Hollywood, with his openness to taking risks adding to his reputation. Although his work in established IPs has been great, it's his willingness to tackle new projects with fun premises that have made Statham so popular among cinema's ever-changing audience.
With his stock remaining high, the actor's only film from last year wound up being a box office hit while earning a mostly positive reception among critics and viewers. In addition, Statham''s The Beekeeper became a streaming success on Prime Video, making what should have been a relatively quiet 2024 a year to remember for the Englishman.

If you’re a fan of Jason Statham, Prime Video is evidently the place to be right now, going by their current top 10 list. The action star, who may be one of the most popular and enduring action heroes in the world, has been a regular fixture in action movies ever since he broke out in a big way in the Transporter franchise. Now, after a great 2024 that included his stunning hit The Beekeeper, Statham is proving once again why he's so popular by kicking off 2025 with not just one, but two films in Prime Video's Top 10 list. According to FlixPatrol, Wrath of Man (2021) and Meg 2: The Trench (2023) are riding high in the charts, sitting at 10th and 6th place, respectively.

As far as modern action heroes go, one of the most enduring has certainly been Jason Statham, who’s headlined a slew of modestly budgeted action flicks that have made him one of the few genre staples left in the game. His career has been interesting, with him alternating smaller-scaled action flicks with bigger, tentpole event films, such as the Fast & Furious films and The Meg 1 & 2. Yet, the movie that established his persona wasn’t the Transporter films or any of his Guy Ritchie movies. Nope, instead, it was a small-scale but ambitious quasi-remake of the film noir classic D.O.A that put him on the map in a big way. That’s right, folks, it’s time to figure out Wtf Happened to Crank!
Jump back to 1997, when a young English director named Guy Ritchie released a little film called Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, which caused a sensation.

With the thrill of fast cars, bone-breaking action, and raw intensity that has become his signature, Jason Statham isn’t letting up anytime soon. From his unforgettable stints in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels to The Transporter, he’s been lighting up the screen with a thrilling grip that grabs you by the collar and throws you off your guard.
Statham’s career took off like a turbocharged engine when he first appeared in Guy Ritchie’s Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels in 1998. The movie’s success set the stage for what would become a fruitful partnership between Statham and Ritchie, culminating in Snatch (2000).

Jason Statham has done it again. The actor best known for “Punch first, talk later” roles is back in action and this time, he is leading a peaceful life as a construction worker. Directed by Suicide Squad’s David Ayer, A Working Man features an impressive cast including Jason Statham, David Harbour, Michael Peña, and more. The idea is simple – Jason Statham lives a normal life, gets provoked, he turns the world upside down. Nothing we haven’t seen before.

“Jason Statham Becomes One of the Most Reliable Action Stars of the 2020s” might not have been on anyone’s bingo card of film industry predictions at the end of 2019, but it appears to be shaping out that way.
The “Transporter” star has enjoyed a career renaissance in recent years, leading the 2023 shark sequel “Meg 2: The Trench” to nearly $400 million at the global box office before teaming up with David Ayer for the ridiculous (and ridiculously fun) action thriller “The Beekeeper.” Now, Amazon MGM hopes that the pairing of Ayer and Statham can produce even more box office gold after with reunion movie “A Working Man.”
Adapted from veteran comic book writer Chuck Dixon’s 2014 novel “Levon’s Trade,” “A Working Man” is co-written by Ayer and Sylvester Stallone. With those kinds of legacy connections to the action genre on both sides of the camera, it should come as a...

The Transporter is one of Jason Statham’s most iconic action movie franchises, but it remains unclear if he’ll ever play Frank Martin again in Transporter 5. The franchise debuted in 2002 with the release of The Transporter, which marked Statham’s first headlining role in a major action vehicle. The titular stoic mercenary-turned-driver quickly became the defining role of Statham’s career and opened the door to other opportunities in the genre. Not only did he go on to star in other action films like War, Crank, and The Mechanic; he reprised his role as Frank in two more Transporter movies.
The trilogy got bigger, bolder, and better with each movie. 2005’s Transporter 2 expanded the scope with even more bonkers action scenes and 2008’s Transporter 3 became the highest-grossing entry in the series. The Transporter franchise continued after that, with a fourth film and a TV spinoff, but Statham never played Frank again.

Schwarzenegger. Stallone. Van Damme. Gibson. Snipes. Ford. When you make a list of the most popular action heroes of all time, there’s another name that needs to be added to that list – Liam Neeson. Over the last sixteen years, he’s headlined a neverending series of action thrillers that have propelled him to a much higher echelon of fame than he’d ever been on before, with him only ever becoming an action star once he was fifty-six. Ultimately, it was all due to a low-budget, European-financed action flick, which came very close to going direct-to-video and reached theatres in Europe a full year before it opened in North America. That movie is Taken, and we’re going to tell you how it revitalized the career of a man who – at the time – was generally considered a top-tier character actor with limited box office appeal. That’s right – it...

Jason Statham has had a truly storied career. The 57-year-old actor has seen his fair share of blockbusters and has been handed the keys to franchises of his own. Best known for his action roles, he starred in a variety of movies, including The Italian Job (2003), The Expendables (2010), and Furious 7 (2015). In a world in which Hollywood has seen a decline in star-focused movies, he has continued to endure with a surprisingly impactful career. He has enjoyed spin-offs from central franchises, exciting adventure movies, and stunning action sequences rivaled only by Tom Cruise movies.
Statham's career has not always been one of stardom and box office draw, of course. One of his earliest projects saw him as a supporting character in a relatively unknown movie. It disappointed in the box office and failed to entertain increasingly angry critics. While Statham has certainly managed to push past that mediocre appearance, the...

Jason Statham has become one of the biggest action stars of his generation. His name is synonymous with several major action franchises, including The Expendables and the Fast and Furious franchises. Jason Statham has made a name for himself in the action genre over the course of his career. Jason Statham and Guy Ritchie's bizarre gangster opus Revolver broke their streak, and it took another 16 years to fix it. 1998's Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels marked the movie debuts of both director Guy Ritchie and Jason Statham. Statham had many careers before acting - including music video extra and London street trader - but his back-to-back Guy Ritchie movies made him a star practically overnight. Avatar and MCU star Zoe Saldana takes the lead in a divisive action thriller from 2011, which is due to land on Netflix in the new year. Not only does the movie find the Guardians of the Galaxy actor at the forefront, it was co-written and produced by controversial Taken and The Fifth Element filmmaker Luc Besson, and helmed by Transporter 3 and Taken 2 director Olivier Megaton. So, it has quite the action movie pedigree, if not the critical response to back it up.

The Transporter is one of Jason Statham’s most iconic film franchises, which is why it was so surprising when the actor didn’t return for the fourth movie in the series, The Transporter Refueled. The Hollywood star had made a name for himself across several different action franchises, and he’d seemingly found his niche with The Transporter. Although the movie performed terribly with critics, and not much better with audiences,...
