Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities boasts a cast of talented actors in its fourth episode, “The Outside” – here’s the cast and who they play in the horror anthology series’ episode 4. Released on Netflix on October 26, “The Outside” is based on Emily Carroll’s webcomic “Some Other Animal’s Meat." Unlike other Cabinet of Curiosities episodes that might be considered more typical horror fare for the themes they explore, “The Outside” starts off somewhat peculiarly as it focuses on its protagonist’s self-confidence regarding her looks and social standing at the bank where she works.
Directed by The Bad Batch’s Ana Lily Amirpour, Cabinet of Curiosities episode 4 follows Stacey as she tries on a strange lotion called Alo Glo to gain membership in her coworkers' inner circle. While her coworkers didn’t seem to have any side effects from their Alo Glo use, Stacey does. Here’s...

The Scooby Gang can’t take a step without running into some kind of villain; they’re constantly chased by things that go bump in the night. Ever since 1969, the iconic Great Dane and his loyal companions have found themselves in trouble wherever they go, in or out of Coolsville. And though it may seem unnecessary to work Halloween into any given story, seeing as Scooby-Doo! doesn’t ever need a special occasion to get creepy, there’s something irresistible about those mysteries set on All Hallows’ Eve.
The long-running franchise has certainly amassed a staggering amount of cases over the years, but these ten stand out due to their Halloween backdrops.
Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!
To Switch a Witch
In this episode from the series that started it all, the Scooby Gang visits a friend named Arlene (voiced by Judy Jetson actor Janet Waldo) in Salem. There’s no time for Halloween shenanigans,...

The long-circulating rumor is true: HBO Max’s new movie Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo! acknowledges that the franchise’s Velma is LGBTQ.
In a scene from the toon pic, the brainy, bespectacled Mystery Inc. character is visibly smitten with a female foil.
“I always thought it was a strange coincidence that all our cases seem to involve some supernatural creature,” Daphne (voiced by Grey Griffin), says. To which Velma (Kate Micucci) replies, “But it wasn’t a coincidence — these costumes were created by one person.”
Enter Coco Diablo (Myrna Velasco), the head of the notorious costume crime syndicate behind the creepy costumes. As Coco tosses her long white hair, Velma mentally surveys the scene and notes: “Incredible glasses!” “Amazing turtleneck!” “Obviously brilliant!” “Loves animals!”
Cut to shot of Velma’s glasses fogging up and her blushing.
The official trailers for the movie don’t include the scene, but Twitter has...

In many Tim Curry movies, you may not even know he's there. Not because he lacks screen presence -- far from it in fact -- but because in many of his roles his face is concealed. Since his movie debut as Dr. Frank-n-Furter in "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," Curry has been an actor whose roles often require heavy makeup. Throughout both Curry's scene-stealing turn as Pennywise in the 1990 "It" miniseries and in his performance as the devilish Lord of Darkness in Ridley Scott's 1985 fantasy film "Legend," his true face never appears.
However, Curry never lets the makeup do his job for him. As an actor, it's his job to entertain his audience, and you won't get very far if you try to do that with just a costume. Case-in-point: the Pennywise makeup isn't especially scary on its own, but Curry's manic malice makes the villain nightmarish.
