    Not a very good movie

I'd classify this as a B grade Indian movie, it really wasn't that good. The main characters are Dr Arjun, his wife Jyoti, his brother Vijay and his friend Aryan.

The plot is as follows: Dr Arjun treats inmates at the local prison, one of whom is a dangerous serial killer of women. One day the serial killer escapes from prison. After this, two girlfriends of Aryan's die and Vijay begins to suspect him.

There were no clues leading up to the ending within the movie, to let you know who the killer was. It wasn't very well written, and the songs were ordinary. Only see this film if you're a fan of one of the actors.

    Underrated !

This movie will strike you hard, esp the married peoples. It's a film that reflects hypocrisy at best and the bloody outcome of provoking the innocent. It will earn your respect for the protagony as well as feel sympathy for him for everything he does. It will finally teach you about people's character, teach you about not taking a wrong step in life and the danger of doing wrong deeds. Nana Patekar is not only an actor of highest standards but also made his mark in directorial debut through Vadh. He has both acted and directed this movie which i feel is one of the most underrated Suspense film in Bollywood. Two thumbs up for Nana patekar.

Vadh is about a decent family having a man, his wife, his brother who is soon going to be married. But in this decent well to do respectable family, there lies an ugly truth, that will sadden and shock not only you but also the protagony. It is better to keep it undisclosed here, beause i really want you to experience the film yourself. That truth turns the table upside down, reverses the entire plot back from climax to beginning. It forces the narrator to justify why the wolves wear sheep's clothing. It is expressed in a multi-layered statement deliveries. As usual the law stays innocent as a naive kid, who still has miles to catch up with criminals ahead. The antagony and protagony are very well built in it, if we consider how family dynamics takes place in real world. The film is horrific in a sense which sends the message to all women out there to think twice about their emotions and actions. The rest is your decision to watch or even agree or disagree.

Vadh excels as the Suspense retainer. It truly showed the perfect strategy to deal with both flawed law and personal ambition. The first watch is thrilling and engaging. The second watch is definitely entertaining but will perhaps make you feel sad for the lead character. Vadh has some very good moments to consider like brotherhood, men respecting women, against social malpractices like dowry but all these are actually cover-up hypocrisy with respect to more deeper crimes. Vadh stands out as one of those movies that depicts the perfect crime ever committed where the truth was revealed to you only, perhaps none to other living characters on screen.

Vadh is not for children due to its adult content, not explicit in visual but in expressions. Vash justifies violence and through it sends out the loudest message of trustworthiness. But, Vadh lacks the serene progress or explanation of few things like the exposure of truth to the world or technical aspects like fast timing in few scenes. It has a brilliant script, brilliantly directed by Nana Sir and BGM reflects the exact mood as per demands. Performances are excellent for Nana who is the all in all of the film, the brightest point to say nevertheless. A really underrated in susupense genre but in negative theme. Rating wise it's a straight 8. An 81/100.

a story with very unusual ending

I have got to say i really enjoyed watching this film. Suspense was super class and was very unlikely to be guessed.

Nana Patekar acting was superb. All others were not very good though.

But, the film is lifted mainly by NP. A truly unique thing about the movie was the ending. I haven't seen such justified and unusual ending in any other film.

If this is not a copy of any Hollywood film then its gonna rest into my all time favorite movies. Watch the movie and you would not regret 1 bit of your time spent.

Poor acting, script and screenplay lets down a potential masterpiece!

I don't happen to be a big fan of Bollywood movies and rarely watch many. When I settled down to watch this movie, little did I know what was to come and that I would be writing a review of such an ordinary looking movie by the end.

To start off, this is NOT just another typical Bollywood flick where you expect a lot of action, romantic songs or humor. Yes, Vadh lacks in all of them. It lacks even more. But a brilliant idea and an interesting plot makes up to a good extent recovering some of the movie's soul. However poor execution lets down what could've been a great thriller.

The story revolves around a psychiatrist Dr Arjun Singh played by Nana Patekar and his much younger, and pregnant wife Joyti (Anupama Verma). They seem to be happily married. One day a patient of Dr Singh, a psychotic criminal, escapes from jail following a homicidal spree. While the police is after the madman on the run, the story takes several intriguing twists and turns. What unfolds may not be what you would have expected. If you decide to sit down and watch this movie, then don't let yourself fret out halfway through because the movie requires some patience and understanding from its views. And if you can just somehow ignore the very obvious bad aspects of the movie, you will enjoy it. It's worth the time.

Where they have been a major hit in Hollywood for a long long time, Thrillers, particularly good ones, are rare in Bollywood. I never felt more gripped watching a modern Indian thriller since I watched Gupt. The movie has lots of shortcomings that can be noticed right from the beginning. The script is awful, songs very ordinary and the acting miserable! A more professional acting performance or a better cast altogether along with a well-written script would have made a huge difference.

While the poor rating and lack of popularity reflects the flaws, there is also an opinion that the Bollywood audience is not mature enough yet to perceive such movies or perhaps it's just not their THING. if this were made in Hollywood, it would have been a super hit! I strongly wish to see a better remake of this movie made either in Bollywood or Hollywood, from a more competent team.

    Only for Nana Patekar fans.

    Vadh review :

A suspense thriller ghost directed by Nana Patekar, Vadh had Nana hogging the limelight with some non-actors like Puru Rajkumar, Anupama V, Nakul Vaid etc surrounding him. The basic theme was infidelity but it comes in to foray only in last few reels of the film. Not many have seen it as Vadh was a resounding flop at the box office. Assal Nana fans can still try it out.

When production initially began, Raj Bharti was the director. When Nana kept interfering, he left the film. Rajesh Singh was brought in the film to direct it. He too left the film due to Nana Patekar making several suggestions. Finally, Nana Patekar took over as director and finished the film. That is the reason the film's director credit's read " N.S.R." N for Nana Patekar, S for Rajesh Singh, and R for Raj Bharti.
    • Goofs
Nana Patekar confesses at the end that while returning after killing the psychopath, he met one of the girlfriends of Puru Rajkumar on the way. She said that she was going back home from Puru's house. Nana reached home, this lady called Nana to inform that she also reached home. Then Nana goes to her house to kill her. But in the movie the audience sees even after all these, she went to Puru's house. It is an editorial error due to which the schedule of Nana's killing gets affected.
