The last episode of This Is Us ended with Jack and Rebecca at a somber Pearson ceremony: A funeral. (Rebecca was merely attending, of course, while Jack was the one eternal-resting in an urn.) This week’s episode began with another pivotal Pearson ceremony, albeit one that was much more upbeat: Jack and Rebecca’s wedding. They celebrated their nuptials with a kiss on the courthouse steps and then listened to a lovely speech by everyone’s (some people’s? anyone’s?) favorite spouse of Rebecca, Miguel (Jon Huertas).

Yesterday I reported how the box office figures and general reception for Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them hasn't been exactly what Warner Bros. was hoping for. There's a lot of thought, within the industry, that the launch of the Fantastic Beasts franchise has somewhat missed the mark the studio was aiming for. In that piece, I speculated that future installments of the spinoff series- set in the same world as J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter books- might become more Potter-centric in an effort to maximize its success.

Ezra Miller has been in the news a lot lately. The actor appears in the current #1 movie in the world, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, and yet as he's gone around promoting that film everyone seems to want to talk to him about his next Warner Bros. movie. Miller will be reprising his role as Barry Allen, aka The Flash, in the studio's ambitious superhero epic Justice League next November. He recently spoke to a member of the Israeli press who wanted to know what it was like to work with Gal Gadot in the DC extravaganza.
Miller sounds like he loved what the Israeli actress brought to the production. He gushed that "she was such a pleasure" to work with. "What an incredible force of nature,” Miller added. “She is such a mother."
These descriptions of her fall right in line with what we've seen in trailers for Wonder Woman so far.

It’s not just Batman and Superman who’ve been duking it out of late. The huge returns for their derided hero-mash have given rise to another titanic battle: audiences v critics. The critics were largely (but by no means completely) unanimous in their bilious dislike for Zack Snyder’s Justice League prequel – critical aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes

Chicago – Fans of the 1990s series “Boy Meets World” would probably still like to meet the actress that portrayed Topanga, Danielle Fishel. Danielle was ten years old when she began doing commercials, and was 12 when landed the role of Topanga Lawrence on “Boy Meets World.” What began as a one-off role became a seven season run for the character, and Danielle made the cover of Seventeen Magazine and was voted one of the “The Hottest 21 Stars under 21” in Teen People Magazine. After the show ended, she appeared in a few films, including “National Lampoon’s Dorm Daze” (2003). She also hosted several TV shows, including Style Network’s “The Dish,...

Danielle Fishel's Normally, This Would Be Cause for Concern: Tales of Calamity and Unrelenting Awkwardness is surprisingly true to its title. The actress, best known for her role as Topanga in Boy Meets World (which she is currently reprising in the Disney spinoff Girl Meets World), has penned a collection of goofy young-adult anecdotes chronicling her journey from suburban SoCal to the height of '90s young Hollywood, largely punctuated by public pratfalls, shopping sprees gone wild and gay boyfriends, not to mention — *spoiler alert* — farting husbands. Here are five of the best (and sometimes painful) moments from

Are Justin’s friends and his recent break up with Selena Gomez leading him down the wrong path? Will Smith is allegedly serving as a ‘father figure’ to the Biebs in an attempt to get his life back on track!
Will Smith, a former child star himself, gave Justin Bieber some great advice after his London tour turned a bit chaotic over the past week.
Justin tweeted on March 10, “love to big man Will Smith for the great talk yesterday. We know the truth and we must stand tall. Love u man! thanks!”
Will has been in London, chaperoning his 14-year-old son Jaden Smith, who is one of three opening acts on Justin’s Believe Acoustic tour. The former Fresh Prince of Bel Air star has been acting as a “father figure” in the absence of Justin’s own mom Pattie Mallette, according to Mail Online.

Microsoft on Monday morning officially unveiled a promising new music service for PCs, tablets, laptops and the Xbox gaming console called Xbox Music. And in the grand tradition of late-night games of Risk, it appears to be taking on competitors from every direction possible.
With Xbox Music, Microsoft has rolled the dice and attacked -- all at once, cannons blazing, horses whinnying! -- all-you-can-eat streaming services like Spotify and Rdio, music recommendation services like Pandora, paid music download services like iTunes, and cloud locker services like Google Music and Amazon Cloud Drive.
It's an effort, Microsoft spokespeople have declared, to create the first truly all-in-one music service on the planet. Check out this chart, which Microsoft cooked up to show just exactly what they're attempting to accomplish:
That's a seductive bit of PR -- everything I could ever want from a music service, in one place! -- but is there substance behind the claim?...

As CBS’ The Big Bang Theory enters its 6th season of production, it’s somewhat surprising to realize that the show is still in the middle of its “stride.” Most shows that come upon a 6th season find themselves bogged down in parity and coasting on the achievements of previous seasons, but the writers and producers of Tbbt manage to continue to grow their characters and not let their past success go to their heads. And here’s why we should be excited for the premiere of Season 6 on Thursday, September 22nd.
1. The Fate of Astronaut Howard Wolowitz
We last saw Howard making his way into orbit, whilst his friends sat in their apartment and watched with concerned faces and baited breath as the shuttle made its way skyward, with their friend in tow. Does Howard make it safely home? How do his girlfriend and his mother get along while he is away?...

“The Voice” premiered to solid ratings, albeit ratings well off its previous two season openers. Cause for concern for NBC? Probably not, although the real ratings excitement will come tomorrow when the third episode of this opening week episode gauntlet goes head to head with the premiere of “The X Factor” over on Fox. But we’re not here to speculate about Thursday morning Nielsen ratings. We’re here to recap the second blind auditions. Given the ratio of episode time versus contestant selected last night (one per fifteen minutes of air time) and the total number of contestants that will ultimately be...

Unless you’ve been living in a hole in the ground, like a certain fictional character, it can’t have escaped your attention that The Hobbit has finally gone into production and has been filming for the majority of the year in New Zealand. Fans of Peter Jackson and J. R. R. Tolkien’s prequel to The Lord of the Rings both rejoiced and breathed a sigh of relief when principal photography finally began in March after an eight year journey from the end of The Return of the King to get the film into production. But considering all that has gone before, should we still be worried that the finished film(s) will disappoint?

My conversations with industry insiders and Academy members lead me to believe that Melissa Leo (“The Fighter”) remains the favorite to win the best supporting actress Academy Award, despite — or perhaps even because of — the recent brouhaha over her “Consider” advertisements. In terms of statistical analysis, though, one can find cause for both confidence and concern about her Oscar prospects…
Cause for Concern: The BAFTA-ampas Disconnect
British voters are believed to make up a sizable portion of the Academy, and BAFTA Award winners — which were announced after the Oscars prior to 2000, and have been announced before them since then — usually correspond with Oscar winners. Therefore, it is certainly noteworthy that BAFTA didn’t like Leo’s performance enough to even nominate her for its best supporting actress award, but did like the one given by Hailee Steinfeld (“True Grit“), her primary rival at the Oscars, enough to nominate her in its best actress category.

Kevin Smith is an odd dude. We think that is safe to say. If your familiar with the writer/director/actor then you know that strange things usually happen when he's involved. Usually you either get a terrific product or you get the "crash and burn" effect. Red State is hopefully going under the first category..
Smith has already been very vocal about the film. He said he planned on auctioning off the rights to the film to the highest bidder after the 2011 Sundance film festival. Then just a few days ago, we got the 2011 Sundace film festival film list and Red State wasn't there. Cause for concern? Maybe but it was announced today that it will indeed by shown at the festival. The auction is still going on as planned as well. At least that is our understanding.

The World Premiere of James Cameron's Avatar is set for December 10th, just 20 days from now but as of Wednesday, "around 30 minutes of the movie remain incomplete". Cause for concern? According to Jon Landau, the film's producer, the scenes need work ranging from sound mixing through colour timing along to visual effects. What isn't clear is how many minutes of FX work need to be locked, and how much of that floating half hour is requiring the more final post production polish only. Landau's big argument, though is that on a film like Avatar, there's " little meaningful difference between principal photography and special effects" - that's The Wall Street Journal paraphrasing him, but the point stands. There really weren't any non-fx shots, so of course the schedule will include FX work down to the wire. Imagine the editing room a couple of weeks from completion on a Pixar film ...
