He wrote the screenplay for Richard Linklater’s School Of Rock, before returning to smaller fare like Year Of The Dog and Brad’s Status. After that? 2003’s School of Rock compiled a great group of child actors as they not only were able to go toe-to-toe with Jack Black in their comedic performances, but they also really came together as a band for the film. The bond that the cast made was evident as the audience could also feel their synergy. However, for two particular castmates, their bond would blossom into true love. Two of the movie’s child stars, Caitlin Hale and Angelo Massagli, would recently step on stage again, this time in holy matrimony.

Hale played Marta in School of Rock, who was one of the backup singers, while Massagli played Frankie, who became more of a crew member for the band. The two grew up to tie the knot and Entertainment Weekly reports on another cast member — Rivkah Reyes, who portrayed the bassist Katie — documenting parts of the wedding on a TikTok video.

Sony Pictures (with some help from the film's leading men) have announced a Christmas 2025 release date for their upcoming Anaconda reboot, which may officially be titled The Anaconda.

Fan-favorites Jack Black (Kung Fu Panda 4; Tropic Thunder; School of Rock) and Paul Rudd ( Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania; Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire; Avengers: Endgame) have been enlisted to headline the feature, with Daniela Melchior (Fast X; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3; The Suicide Squad) co-starring. Additional casting is currently underway.

Tom Gormican (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent; That Awkward Moment) is directing the feature, with a screenplay he co-wrote with Kevin Etten (Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F; The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent).

Characters are an immeasurably important part of the films they populate, and oftentimes, great writing can turn characters who are objectively terrible people into lovable parts of their stories. Some of the best movies of all time have characters such as these, equal parts charming as they are dastardly. However, most of all, these characters have managed to stay memorable, even if some of them were created decades ago.

In stark contrast to the best heroes in films or even the greatest best friend duos in movies, characters who are bad people may have even more qualities that make them both real and relatable. Their negative qualities have become a part of their legacy, even if viewers have begun to forget about them over time. Have you seen "The Holiday?" If you are my wife, the answer to this question is, "Yes, probably about 423 times." Entertainment Weekly has debuted several images from Dear Santa, offering fans their best look yet at the comedy movie that reunites filmmakers Bobby and Peter Farrelly for the first time since Dumb and Dumber To. Dear Santa follows "young Liam Turner (Star Wars: Skeleton Crew's Robert Timothy Smith), who still believes in Santa. To prove to all of his disbelieving friends that Santa is real, he writes a letter to the big guy inviting him to show himself. The only problem? Liam isn't a very strong speller and addresses the letter to Satan (Black) instead. Satan, who never gets letters from kids, is flattered and goes to meet Liam," reads EW's synopsis.

Earlier this year, the news broke that Columbia Pictures is planning to squeeze new life out of the Anaconda franchise, with The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent director Tom Gormican set to helm a reimagining of the 1997 giant snake horror movie.

Paul Rudd and Jack Black have now been confirmed to play the lead roles, and according to Deadline, Daniela Melchior has also joined the cast.
