If you want to watch a Gen-Xer get wistful, just ask them about MTV in the 1980s and '90s. MTV wasn't just an endless repository for music videos and short films (which would have made the network significant on its own); it also dictated a great deal of the generation's cultural attitudes. There was a punkish, puckish outlook in the '80s as punk, New Wave, and Hip-Hop all rose to the fore, gleefully tearing down old music traditions and setting up something that could be intense, playful, or sometimes just plain silly. The 1990s adopted a great deal of angst, as the disaffection grunge generation and poetic alternative rock came into prominence. In 1994, it wouldn't be strange to see a Hip-Hop music video, a suicidally dark industrial music video, a tender ballad, a heavy metal music video, Nirvana, and a weird novelty act like Green Jellÿ all in a row.

Cameras are still rolling on the second season of Marvel Television's Daredevil: Born Again, and we now have word on a new addition to the cast of the Disney+ series.

Set photos have already revealed that Annie Parisse will appear in an undisclosed role (all we know is that her character is detained by Kingpin's anti-vigilante task force), and Deadline is reporting that Lily Taylor will be joining her.

We don't have a name for Taylor's character just yet, but she is believed to be playing "a political foe for Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk." As previously reported, Matthew Lillard is also on board.

Two episodes of Born Again aired this week, and the second saw Matt Murdock (finally) suit up as Daredevil again to track down and take out the serial killer known as Muse.

These latest set snaps reveal that Annie Parisse has joined the cast for season 2, and it looks like her character is going to find herself on Mayor Wilson Fisk's bad side.

Though we have no idea if Parisse will play an established Marvel Comics character, these photos show her being detained by the Kingpin's anti-vigilante task force (The Avtf). A previous rumor claimed that season 2 of Born Again will focus on the Man Without Fear assembling his own team to combat Kingpin's forces, so Parisse might well be playing a member of Murdock's new crew.

The Producers Guild of America will posthumously honor late producers Lynda Obst and Paula Weinstein with the Trailblazer Award, the guild announced on Friday. Their tributes will take place at the Producers Guild Awards, to be held Feb. 8 in Los Angeles.

Obst and Weinstein, who both died in 2024, will receive the awards for “their shared commitment to paving the way for female producers and championing women’s voices in Hollywood.”

“Lynda Obst and Paula Weinstein have made a lasting impact on the industry with their trailblazing work and steadfast commitment to amplifying women’s voices,” Producers Guild of America presidents Stephanie Allain and Donald De Line said in a statement.

“Lynda and Paula embody the spirit of women who have broken barriers and paved the way for future generations of producers. Their visionary work includes iconic films that have defined eras, alongside their unwavering commitment to championing underrepresented stories,” they continued.

“I’Ve Lost My Bestie, Paula Weinstein. Paula was everything a friend should be — to me and to so many people. However, I must also confess that we were pleasantly surprised by this original musical, written and starring Jennifer Lopez, which revolves around her own life and love affairs, as one may expect.

However, “This is Me…Now: A Love Story” is not just about the romances known from magazines and television. It is a futuristic video clip with several musical numbers, each with high quality in terms of photography and set design. Although it may seem self-centered and geared towards her fans, I must admit that “This is Me…Now: A Love Story” is of great quality and production.
