The deer smash the driver and passenger side windows of the car. In the subsequent scene, Rachel's reflection can be seen in her window (unbroken) as she turns to Aidan.
In the very beginning of the movie when Jake brings Emily over to watch the tape, she doesn't turn off the lights. When Jakes comes in yelling at her to play it, the T.V. gives light to the room, and you can tell the lights are off. When the well water comes into the kitchen, he runs into the living room and lights are on again.
At the Morgan house, Savide (the Realtor) mentions that the furniture is being stored in the basement. Then, Rachel goes to the basement, opens the doors, and, the entryway is covered with cobwebs. If the Realtor had moved the furniture into the basement, the cobwebs would have been swept away.
When Rachel and Aidan are on the couch she takes a bite of a sandwich. As she is taking the bite Aidan asks her a question. They cut to Rachel who answers the question but has no food in her mouth. After she answers she takes another bite and the sandwich appears to have not been bitten into yet.
In the ambulance scene where Rachel takes a look at Jake's dead body; after unzipping the bag, we see Jake's terrified face faced right, towards Rachel but right after that where Rachel gasps his face is looking the opposite direction.
Just before Rachel is about to burn the VHS tape in the woods, she pulls out tape from the cassette very easily several times. And we can hear the sounds of the spools in the cassette spinning as she pulls out the tape.
This should not be possible to happen. The VHS cassettes have latches locking the spools to keep them from turning. The spools can only be released by a push-in lever accessed by a hole located on the bottom of the cassette. When Rachel is holding the cassette and pulls the tape out, we can see the bottom of the cassette that she has nothing inserted into that hole in order to release the lock of the spools.
It's highly doubtful that any mental institution would allow a psychotic patient to play with scissors (Sissy Spacek).
When the deer are hitting the car. The deer shown are European Red Deer, not native anywhere in the US. The only native deer around Astoria, OR are Pacific Black-Tail Deer and Roosevelt Elk.
When Rachel examines the face of the first victim, she approaches an ambulance labeled "Clatsop County Medical Examiner." Clatsop County does not have its own medical examiner. If a suspicious death occurs, the body would be sent to the state medical examiner. Ambulances in Clatsop County are labeled "Medix."
Early on, we see a shot of The Daily Astorian office where Rachel works, and the Columbia River in the background. The real Daily Astorian office is located well off the waterfront. The building used is a medical supply company.
When Dr Temple is forced to use a syringe on herself, you can clearly see that when she pulls back the plunger there's just air going inside and it's confirmed when she "injects" it into her neck and again you see there's nothing in the syringe. This is however due to the idea that she is injecting air into her blood stream which is known as an air embolism and if enough air is injected into the bloodstream it does cause death.
When at the hospital Rachel and Max talk in the cafeteria and she shows Max the photographs that Aidan took of Samara in the public restroom, a crew member appears visible through the window behind Max and to his left. Given that the person is wearing a white coat, this is more likely an extra dressed as a doctor using the break room.
When Rachel makes sandwiches for herself and Samara/Aidan, the camera focuses briefly on the bottle of pills. The name on the bottle clearly reads "...entura, Tony." There is no character named "Tony" in the film; however, the crew's property master is named Tony Bonaventura.
After the bathroom scene in which a huge amount of water falls from the ceiling, Max removes a dry towel from the towel rack and places it around the boy's shoulders.
When Samara is climbing out of the well in some shots her hair is touching the side of the well, indicating that the actor was crawling along a horizontal surface.
When Rachel wants to get the video tape out of the V.C.R. she presses the power button instead of the eject button and the tape is ejected.
Dr. Temple would not have authority to lock Rachel in the meeting room when she left for coffee before their interview; only police could take this step to detain her, and only if she were formally arrested. Dr. Temple would also not be able to speak with Rachel's doctor in Seattle and find out about her postpartum depression without a court order. Perhaps such an order could be obtained due to suspected child abuse, but not so quickly.
When Aidan sees Samara in the mirror, his mouth is closed, but when you see his reflection in the mirror, his mouth is open. This happens again and again until he starts taking pictures.
In the first Ring movie, when Rachel watched the video, the eerie screeching begins when we see the finger going through the hammer-nail. But in the beginning of this movie, when Emily is supposedly watching the video, the screeching starts at a different time.
When Rachel takes Aiden to the newspaper office the night of their deer attack, it is fairly late at night. At one point before the kitchen starts to go haywire, the digital clock in Aidan's room showed it was already 7:30. It is therefore odd that so many of Rachel's co-workers were still in the office by the time they got there, especially as it is a small town, and the repeated joke is that there are so few newsworthy happenings to cover.
The Israeli cover of the DVD release contain the names of two of the movie characters - Rachel and Aidan. While Rachel is listed as 'Naomi Watts', Aidan is listed as 'Aidan Keller', instead of his real name, David Dorfman.
When the deer are all grunting at Rachel and Aidan, the whistle of an elk can clearly be heard despite the fact there are no elk in the scene.
During the flashback where Evelyn is trying to drown baby Samara, the child is smiling happily though at the same time we hear her horrified crying.
When Rachel and Aidan pull up to their house near the beginning of the film, the camera lenses and hood cover are reflected in the lower left corner of the frame off of the car door as it pulls up to the curb.
A camera operator's reflection is seen in the TV when the girl is about to place the video in the VCR at the beginning of the film.
In the first film, Samara's birth certificate is briefly shown and the Morgans are named as her biological parents. In addition, there is a glimpse of another document which reveals a little information about her parents, and the description of her mother matches Anna Morgan quite well. This means that despite what the parents said, Samara wasn't actually adopted but instead conceived by unorthodox means. In this film, however, the information in these papers was not acknowledged, and Evelyn was introduced as Samara's biological mother, which would make her the adoptive child of the Morgans.
However, what likely happened--and this is admittedly a confusing aspect of the first film--is that when the Morgans returned with their adopted daughter they convinced their local doctor or health official to issue a birth certificate. There would be a process to follow to register any child born outside a hospital, and the Morgans would simply have lied about Samara's origins. This seems the likelier explanation because no attention was drawn to the birth certificate in the first film, suggesting viewers were not supposed to view it as a clue that Samara was not truly adopted.

How was Rachel able to get the cursed tape just to burn it? If there was proof that the cursed tape caused Jake's death then it would of been locked up in an evidence locker so that no one else falls victim to it.
Why does Rachel stop the car in the middle of the road after the deer attack to start asking Aidan questions? Her main concern should be getting away from the deer that are violently attacking them first.
