Before Meghan Markle became a household name with Suits, she made her film debut in Ashton Kutcher’s romantic comedy, which earned $42.8M at the box office. Her small role marked the start of her Hollywood journey but was a far cry from the success and recognition she later achieved.

It’s a classic rom-com trope. A couple gets together for a casual hookup with little sign of chemistry, sometimes outright friction, and hostility. They find they fail to agree on anything, and their personalities clash. Eventually, after a seemingly never-ending rollercoaster of ups and downs, they find their feelings for each other altering. They’re both struck by Cupid’s arrow! These stories may have emanated from some screenwriter’s imagination, but there’s a reason for plots consistently flowing along these lines. Romantic movies are avidly watched because they reflect reality – audiences can’t get enough stories about casual affairs gaining momentum, and blossoming into a stronger bond. Films are also reflecting the reality of so many singles these days, whose default method of looking for hook up opportunities is to rely on online apps or websites. On these virtual platforms, they’ll be guaranteed access to a treasure trove of talent,...

As we creep towards summer, Netflix has a hot new list of fresh content, including the final season of “Never Have I Ever,” the sophomore season of ‘Human Resources” and the highly anticipated sixth season of “Black Mirror.”
Kicking off the start of the month on mega streamer are lots of family-friendly goodies like both “Nanny McPhee” and “Nanny McPhee Returns,” “Kicking and Screaming,” “Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius” and the “Angry Birds Movie.” But the adults won’t be left out of the conversation, as more mature flicks and series like “Jarhead,” “Funny People” and “We’re the Millers” are also hitting the platform this month.
And it wouldn’t be Netflix without its originals. “Take Care of Maya,” “Extraction 2” and the Sarah Snook-led “Run Rabit Run” will land on the site in June. And even if this isn’t enough to get you watching, Netflix will be streaming its Tudum festival on Saturday,...

Trust is a delicate and intricate aspect of relationships. Paradoxically, the more readily and easily we grant our trust, the harder it becomes to rebuild once it’s been broken. It’s particularly painful when the people we hold closest to our hearts, whom we deeply love, end up hurting us. The intensity of our affection might blind us to their actions, preventing us from recognizing the harm they inflict upon us. However, there may come a moment when we finally realize the extent of the damage, and at that point, our world may feel as though it’s crumbling down around us. Despite the devastation, it’s important to remember that it’s never too late to start anew, to rebuild our lives and relationships once again.
The film A Lot Like Love explores similar themes of trust and betrayal through the story of Fanna, the daughter of a wealthy businessman named Alhaji.

Netflix gained a new competitor last month (sort of) when HBO Max and Discovery+ combined forces to create the confusingly-named Max. With its list of new releases for June 2023, however, Netflix doesn’t have too much to worry about.
This month is filled with some major Netflix original titles, not the least of which is The Witcher season 3 volume 1 on June 29. Though star Henry Cavill is set to leave the Polish folklore/video game adaptation in season 4, he remains very much entrenched as the titular Witcher in this next go-around. Other big TV hits include Manifest season 4 part 2 (June 2), Big Mouth spinoff Human Resources season 2 (June 9), and animated King Kong series Skull Island (June 22). That’s not even to mention the return of Black Mirror season 6. That still has yet to receive a release date but we have no doubt it will be properly epic once it arrives.

Paramount Plus' TV series, Fatal Attraction, boasts a talented cast, with several well-known actors playing iconic characters, Alex Forrest and Dan Gallagher. Based on the 1987 psychological thriller of the same name, the Fatal Attraction TV series will see Alex Forrester and Dan Gallagher once again engage in a passionate but tumultuous rendezvous that soon turns deadly when Alex begins to harass Dan and his family after he breaks off their 'relationship'. Although the plot did face backlash for stigmatizing mental health conditions and perpetuating harmful stereotypes towards women, the 1987 movie ended up being nominated for 6 Academy Awards, with Glenn Close gaining her fourth "Best Actress" Oscar nomination.
For the Fatal Attraction reboot, Lizzy Caplan and Joshua Jackson have been cast in the leading roles, providing more complex and contemporary versions of Alex Forrest and Dan Gallagher. However, they aren't the only talented actors in the Fatal Attraction cast as several...

Los Angeles is such a large and sprawling city, it doesn't have a singular identity. As can be seen from the wide variety of movies set here, neighborhoods in the east, south, and west of LA, from the beaches to the vast San Fernando Valley, all have extremely different flavors. LA is a city of transplants and immigrants, and I'm no exception, as I moved here 6.5 years ago from the UK. Most of the best-known LA movies were made by outsiders trying to get to grips with a city that in one sense is dominated by the movie industry but also has a rich cultural life outside of that.
One of the best ways to discover LA is through documentaries, such as "City of Gold" (2015), "Los Angeles Plays Itself" (2003), and "Dogtown and Z-Boys" (2001). Like most people, my perception of LA was entirely built by the movies I watched growing up,...

Exclusive: Ryan Phillippe (MacGruber), Mireille Enos (Hanna), Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks) and Taryn Manning (Orange Is the New Black) are the latest additions to Michelle Danner’s courtroom drama, Miranda’s Victim. They join an ensemble led by Abigail Breslin, which also includes Luke Wilson, Andy Garcia and Donald Sutherland, as previously announced.
The film will tell the true story of Trish Weir (Breslin), who in 1963 was kidnapped and brutally raped by Ernesto Miranda. Committed to putting her assailant in prison, Trish’s life is destroyed by America’s legal system as she triggers a law that transforms the nation. Her case notably results in the establishment of the Miranda rights afforded to criminal suspects taken in police custody, to ensure the admissibility of statements made during interrogation, as part of subsequent criminal proceedings.

Meghan Markle 's dozens of acting credits have gone missing -- at least they have in the UK, where her official J-o-b is now simply ... "Princess," according to her firstborn's birth certificate. Baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor's birth certificate was published Friday, and revealed he was born May 6 at Portland Hospital in Westminster, London ... most of which we already knew. What really caught our attention was what Meghan listed as her occupation: Princess of the United Kingdom.

For a short period of time, more than five years before Meghan Markle was cast on Suits and about 13 years before she became the Duchess of Sussex, she was known in the movie world as the "Hot Chick." Prince Harry's wife, who quit her acting career last year before their royal wedding to focus on her royal duties, played a small part that bore that nickname in a the 2005 Ashton Kutcher rom-com A Lot Like Love, her first film. She's a royal bride now, but it wasn't long ago that Meghan Markle was "just a FedEx girl" in Horrible Bosses. Other media outlets bill her appearance in the 2011 big-screen comedy as a "cameo," but it was more like a bit part — since Meghan wasn't the superstar she is today. In fact, Meghan's part lasts only 30 seconds. Her character, Jamie — whose name we only know from IMDb — is a FedEx employee who interacts with Kurt, Jason Sudeikis's character. "What's going on here?" Kurt says when he sees her dropping off packages. "Is this one of those hidden camera shows? … I mean, you're way too cute to just be a FedEx girl. You've got to be a model or actress, right? Like, what happens when I open one of these boxes? Something going to jump out and bite me in the penis?" "No," Jamie says. "Nothing's going to jump out.

Meghan Markle was destined to be a royal!
The 36-year-old actress and Prince Harry announced their engagement this week, and she will soon be by his side to work together on causes dear to their hearts.
Markle may be known for her role as Rachel Zane on Suits, but the brunette beauty has also been giving back to the community and fighting for women's rights long before her ties to Prince Harry and her expected soon-to-be royal duties.
Her humanitarian and philanthropic work began prior to her becoming an actress. It all began with her mother, Doria Ragland, who has a master's degree in social work and works as a psychotherapist. In an interview with Glamourearlier this year, Markle listed her mom as one of the women who changed her life.

From the producer’s own hits like “Gecko” and “Koala,” to some of the biggest songs of 2014 (“Light Years Away,” “A Sky Full Of Stars,” “Blame,” etc.) the mix is a pleasure to listen to from start to finish. In fact, it could very well make a case for Best Essential Mix of 2014, as it definitely rivals some of the more impressive ones that we’ve heard from BBC Radio 1 this year. Eli Young Band is capable of great things as it showed with 2012’s “Even If It Breaks Your Heart,” which featured one of the stronger choruses to come out of Nashville in years, as well as with Acm’s 2012 song of the year winner, “Crazy Girl.” The question is if the quartet, which releases “10,000 Towns, its third major label album, today, is content to keep hitting singles and doubles or if it will consistently swing for the fences and find material that matches lead singer Mike Eli’s vocal talents and the band’s overall abilities. (Eli is joined by guitarist James Young, bassist Jon Jones and drummer Chris Thompson). The answer is mixed. To its credit, Eli Young Band, though very capable of hooting and hollering with the best of them, hasn’t succumbed to the bro-country sound that is dominating Nashville right now. It has tried to collect...

He discovers life there is different, but whether it's better is a work in progress.
In real life, Sisto is a 39-year-old father of two: daughter Charlie and baby son Bastian. He got married to wife Addie a few months after his daughter was born, but Sisto has no regrets about taking the plunge.
"I love my family," he tells Zap2it. "I have a great wife. It took me a while to figure that out and commit, but now I'm really happy I did. She's a human being, and we're committed to each other. It's a nice thing. The kids are just amazing. It's a different level."

Taryn Manning is no stranger to broken-down characters. And if you've seen Orange Is the New Black (and if you haven't, hurry up!), you know exactly who she plays. Manning fully embodies Tiffany Doggett (known as "Pennsatucky" by her prisonmates), a Christ-fearing former meth head who preaches from the prison's makeshift pulpit and performs God's miracles in the cafeteria. Manning's own miracle is being able to convincingly pull off Pennsatucky's teeth — truly a Montana Meth Project dream. We talked to Manning about Doggett's perfect smile, her own attempt to sneak in some (flattering) makeup, and what it's like to be typecast. This isn’t the first time you’ve played a character who has looked ... downtrodden. There’s 8 Mile, Hustle and Flow, Crazy/Beautiful, and A Lot Like Love, in which you play Ashton Kutcher’s sister — who wears a midriff-baring wedding dress. Basically, you’ve played some messed-up characters.

Lionsgate has upped Taryn Manning to a series regular for the second season of its Netflix series Orange Is The New Black. Netflix last month ordered a second season of the prison dramedy, in which Manning plays Tiffany ‘Pennsatucky’ Doggett on the show – a meth addict who is the youngest of six children born to drug and alcohol addicted parents in rural Virginia. Manning, who’s repped by Apa, Oren Segal of Radius Entertainment, and Felker Toczek Gellman Suddleson Llp, recently completed shooting Low Down, from writer/producer Jeff Preiss, opposite John Hawkes, Elle Fanning, Ezra Miller, Glenn Close, Tim Daly, Peter Dinklage and Flea. Credits for Manning include guest gigs on Hawaii Five-o and Sons Of Anarchy; film-wise, her credits include Love Ranch, Hustle & Flow, Cold Mountain, 8 Mile, A Lot Like Love, White Oleander, Crazy/Beautiful and Crossroads.

No one loved movies like Roger Ebert. But perhaps more importantly, no one panned movies like Roger Ebert. He turned taking the piss out of a reprehensible film into an art form, leaving you giggling days later.
While we're heartbroken at his passing, we'll always remember him for his big heart, his humanity, his passion, his fortitude, and, most of all, his incredible wit in the face of so many terrible, terrible cinematic train wrecks.
Here are a few of the funniest Ebert take downs of movies. Let us know which one's your favorite.

Subject: Ashton Kutcher, 31-year old American actor, producer, and Twitterer
Date of Assessment: January 21, 2011
Positive Buzzwords: Uh ... Apocalypse Man?
Negative Buzzwords: Obnoxious, entitled, talentless
The Case: Today's subject presents absolutely no challenge in terms of tearing him apart, for he's already done the job himself. Nevertheless, I capitulate to this dreadful week (which has included a very sick child and two funerals) and am inclined to just take the easy way out with a so-called actor who's not even worth this small scrap of cyberspace.
For some time, however, Ashton Kutcher was worthy of the small screen. With his trusty trucker hat in tow, he aimlessly drifted through eight seasons on "That 70s Show," sixty-nine episodes of "Punk'd" (as a Puck-like figure playing pranks on his celebrity friends), and a very short-lived E! series, "Pop Fiction" (essentially an even more obnoxious and self-serving version of "Punk'd" that targeted media and news outlets). # 1 No Strings Attached
Riding the wave of a Golden Globe win and sure to be an Oscar Nomination, arrives Natalie Portman’s and Ashton Kutcher’s No Strings Attached which should land itself at the #1 spot this weekend. Natalie Portman is untested when it comes to romantic comedies, as most of the box pffice weight will rely heavily on Asthon Kutcher whose forays into romantic comedies have seen varied success with first weekend openings in the range of as high as $22.5M for Guess Who to as low as $ 7.5M for A Lot Like Love. Add in an uneven marketing campaign whose trailers consistently changed from week to week and No String’s Attached should find itself with a modest yet # 1 opening.
Our Prediction: $16-17M Opening Weekend Box Office.
#2 The Green Hornet
